The X5 is an entry-level air rifle with style, performance and power. Blasts .177 alloy pellets at 800 fps and lead pellets at 640 fps. And the muzzlebrake lets you fully cock the rifle with less effort, shot after shot. Great combo for plinking & backyard shooting for the whole family!

Things I liked:

Well designed quality air gun for youth. This is not a competition grade high end air gun but it is a above average heirloom type fun air gun for kids. The wood stock is very nice. 12 year old has no problem cocking and loading the gun seems just right for his age. The price is a little higher than other guns in this class but the quality is higher.

Things I would have changed:

nothing

What others should know:

Not the highest powered air gun but for pre-teen youths it is just right.

Things I liked:

Nice design and great to hold and shoot. I bought for the great fiber optics sights I use for my 50 foot range-shooting without a scope to plink cans is great sport and fun for me. Very accurate. 600 fps with lead pellets is all you need for shorter distances for plinking and targets-great power...

Things I would have changed:

not really

What others should know:

The trigger may seem a little hard to pull BUT this makes it more sporty- good hold and aiming overcomes this.

Things I liked:

This is an upgrade from Crosman 760, so know that I do not have a lot of experience. I selected this gun because of it's weight, moderate level of power, and ease of cocking. I have 2 teen boys and live in suburb on 5 acres, so didn't want anything too strong. Right out of box, very first shot I hit can at 25 yds w/o siting scope. Gun is relatively light and easy to cock. Fit and finish are excellent. It feels very well put together. The scope, based on my experience, is pretty good. The shooting and handling of this gun is just great. Well made, well balanced gun.

Things I would have changed:

Based on our needs and use, there is nothing I would change. Being a .177 a 800FPS, it won't drop a raccoon in its tracks, but it takes care of chipmunks and squirrels that are over-running us. Most air rifles are heavier and this being lighter enables you to get it on target and to hold it there longer.

What others should know:

This is a fantastic gun. I will be interested to hear if others are as impressed with it as my family and I are. I am going to order a .22 from Pyramyd soon and can use this as a basis of comparison. I am writing this now due to the X5 not having any reviews and it certainly deserves consideration. No regrets here. Two big thumbs up from this novice.

  • Douglas from USA asked:

Is the stock youth or adult size? What pellets have work well with it?

    • Dan the Man from USA answered:

I would recommend this for 12 and up. Crosman Premiers work well in it.
