I’ll finish looking at the Logun Domin8tor today. Let’s start at the range.
Getting ready
It took 60 pump strokes to fill the rifle from 2,000 psi to 3,000 psi. On high power, you get about 18-20 shots. That’s about three pump strokes per shot. While filling the gun, I noticed that the fill port is always open. That’s unacceptable for a hunting airgun; however, the solution is simple. Just cover the fill port with something that prevents dirt and debris from entering the port. If dirt is blown into the reservoir during a fill, it could cause a leak if it gets onto the surface of the valve. Keep the fill port as clean as possible!
The bolt and magazine pin are both withdrawn.
Loading the magazine
Nothing could be easier! Pellets seem to drop into the funnel-shaped chamber openings in the circular magazine. The Logun Domin8tor is made by FX of Sweden, so their magazines fit the gun. I found JSB Exacts especially easy to load. Be sure to inspect the pellet skirts before you load them, or have a ballpoint pen handy to pop out the bad ones.
Shooting
The Logun Domin8tor stock has enough drop at the butt to feel comfortable shooting off a bench. When the rifle fires, a strong puff of air is felt on the left hand. It’s coming from the magazine slot and is completely normal. The magazine rotates counterclockwise when the bolt works, and there’s an inspection slot in the right side of the receiver so you can see if a pellet is available for the next shot.
Other features
There’s a pressure gauge under the stock to tell you when its time to refill. There’s also a Picatinny rail molded into the bottom of the synthetic stock to accept a bipod. If you own a silencer, you can attach it to the muzzle. It’s threaded on the outside with 1/2″ fine threads. My own .22 rimfire silencer has 1/2″ by 28 threads that are common on firearm silencers but too coarse to fit the Logun Domin8tor. Of course I could have an adapter made. The 19.7″ barrel is entirely free-floated.
Accuracy
I shot on two different days. One day there were breezes gusting to 10 m.p.h.; the other day was dead calm. The results from both days were similar. On high power the best 50-yard 5-shot group of JSB Exacts measured 0.821″. The average JSB group was just under nine-tenths of an inch.

On both medium and low power, the groups opened to 1.25″ to 1.5″. I did try shooting Crosman Premiers, but the groups were much larger so I didn’t pursue them.
With 20.5-grain Logun Penetrators (shot only on high power), the best group at 50 yards was 1.057″. One group with that pellet was 1.40″ but most were close to the one-inch mark.
The bottom line
The Logun Domin8tor is a lightweight, powerful rifle that should be considered by hunters. You’ll like the fast cocking action, the built-in pressure gauge, the power adjuster and the 8 quick shots.

Thanks for your help on this off topic question. I am the guy whose RWS 350 jammed a couple of weeks ago. You thought I may have over-oiled it, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t put any oil anywhere but the hinge of the break barrel points. Anyway, I was using Crossman Premiers through it and getting pretty good results. You didn’t like that idea. As a result of the gun failure, I was able to return the 350 and am now getting a 52. It’s a nice gun and easy to shoot. What I want to know is what shouldn’t I do with that gun (pellets, oil, etc.) and what SHOULD I do (pellets, oil, maintenence,etc.)? Thanks, I don’t want to be the victim of another broken gun.

So far, I have acquired a CP88, CP99, M1911, Beretta 92, and a C225. I am familiar with all the models listed on Pyramyd’s website, but are there any other models I should be aware of?

i looked through the old posts to try to find some discussion on mendoza rifles. i was curious if after a year (the last post i could find) if you have had any experience with any of their rifles. i just put in an order for a rm-600 in .22 cal with a bug buster since the rws 34 is always out of stock. i can’t wait to recieve it. i got it on the pyramid site.
i noticed a couple problems (i’m not real sure if these are issues) on the site though compared to other sites listing the same model. the mendoza rm-600 and the interchangelable caliber mendoza models are rws made by mendoza to rws specs. this is not mentioned. also they are listed as haveing one year warranties and that isn’t true. every other place that sells them states that they come with the lifetime diana warranty. that is what made me quit waiting on the rws 34. i can never keep enough in my checking account to preorder the 34. but i also notice that the beeman gh1050 is listed as a one year warranty and it is actually a lifetime warranty. i find that one really interesting because on airgunexpress which sold to pyramidair has the 1050 listed correctly.
i don’t mean to rant i but i have seen on other posts that you seem to get issues forwarded and get responses out of pyramidair faster. i would just like to see that addressed in any way if possible. a good warranty to me is a big factor when shopping for anything i want to spend a decent amount of money on. of course all it could mean is i was sold a guaranteed P.O.S. i wanna say you should do a in depth review of a mendoza. they get decent reviews on that reviewcentre site and people are pretty happy with them.

Hi.Here in uk the new hw97k has chequering in the fore end were you place you left hand(if you right handed)..I wanted to know if the one pyramid air has had the new chequering on the stock.

DON’T oil the gun. It won’t need but one drop of oil after 3,000 to 5,000 shots. That drop goes through the transfer port, nowhere else. It must be silicone chamber oil only.
Pellets to use – JSB Exact, Beeman Kodiak and that is pretty well it. I hope you got a .22 but if you got a .177, don’t shoot light pellets in it.

I understand Pyramyd AIR is looking into your situation.
I doubt a Mendoza ever came with a Diana warranty. Diana is a German firm and I don’t believe they ever did direct business with Mendoza. RWS USA is now out of the picture and Umarex USA has taken over Diana warranty work. I don’t know if that includes Mendozas formerly sold by RWS or not.
I understand your concerns about a warranty. Did you raise these concerns when you placed your order?
What do you mean you were sold a POS? Is the actual gun you received not performing to spec, or are you talking about the warranty, only?

sorry to be off topic but i have heard different conflicting rumors about gamo and their catologue. i have heard that they are discontinuing the hunter 1250 in .22 caliber ( and all their other .22 caliber airguns for that matter). I have also heard that they are discontinuing only the 1250 in .117. i have shopped around different airgun websites and from my findings, it seems that it is the .22 caliber version. Im interested in buying only the .22 caliber version. so if you know definatly which of the calibers (or both) are being discountinued. it would be of great help to me thanks, scopestop guy

i may have made that sound a little confusing. when i said P.O.S., i meant that though the rifle “may” come with a lifetime warranty, all i might get (i havn’t got it yet i just sent in the order) is a guanranteed P.O.S.
i understand umarex has taken over rws. if you remember a few days ago i asked if adding a buttplate would void the waranty on a rws 34. they also don’t return phone calls or emails even though the german site said they were forwarding my question to umarex usa.
google the rm-600 and you will see that it says its an rws made by mendoza and has the diana warranty.
in the end all it means is i will be taking it apart in a year if that is what the warranty is. i really like the way the gun looks and for my first spring rifle, replaceing my old 66 powermaster sparrow killer, i think it should suit my needs for can and rabbit hunting.
i don’t mean to try to start a ruckus over it but, to me, it’s confusing.
thank you for letting me know that my inquiry isn’t being ignored. when i find out i will definitely post my findings.
i for got mention as well, i can’t find any contact info for mendoza either to try to find out from them. any chance you would know B.B. or anyone else that might read this?

Here is what I know about Gamo. They renamed the 1250 Hunter the Hunter Extreme at the 2006 SHOT Show. The rifles are the same except for cosmetics. The 1250 may go away, but it’s still there as the Hunter Extreme.
The Hunter 1250 is still currently available on Gamo’s American website.
I have no knowledge of any discontinuations at Gamo.

I have forwarded your comment (just the last one) to Umarex USA. They took over RUAG USA, which bought out RWS USA two years ago. The guns are made by Diana, a separate German company.
I hope Umarex USA will address your concerns. They don’t have a website, yet, but I understand they are working on getting one.

Hi, I just saw the new gamo rifle, the Viper Express Shotgun and I’m very excited about this gun. Are you planing to test it soon? I fell in love with the stock, but as far as I know, it is the first air shotgun made by gamo, so I really wanna read some comments of an expert voice before purchase one

An 80 percent Trapmaster is pretty rough. Most of them are 95 percent. If it is working, it’s worth $100-125.

This gun has been discontinued, according to the PA site.
So many airguns and accessories discussed in these blogs have been discontinued. I've learned to click on the link to the PA site to see if it is discontinued before I get too excited about it.
