It gets overshadowed by the R7 only because the R7 has a fully adjustable Rekord trigger for which you pay an extra $100. The HW30 has the Perfekt trigger which is non-adjustable. The first HW30 I bought had an approx 6 lb pull, but with a little work I got it down to a clean 2lbs. The second one came w/ a 2lb pull right out of the box ! This rifle gives you 95% of an R7 at 60% of the cost. Things I would have changed:I don't care for HW's new stocks w/ the fore end that extends beyond the breechblock, but that's simply a matter of cosmetic taste. I do like the absence of checkering and the nice soft rubber buttplate. What others should know:These rifles are very easy to shoot accurately. They are light, easy to cock, and their shot cycle is very smooth. Kids and adults can share this rifle and enjoy it. Whenever I'm teaching someone new to shoot I bring the HW30s.
