Things I liked:I've had my RM600 since late 2005 so its an 'old' gun. This is the first time I got around to reviewing it but maybe you might like to find out how your RM600 ages. Keep in mind Mendoza is probably updating their newer guns so your experience will be different. I really like the feel of the gun and think it looks good. It seems

Keep in mind Mendoza is probably updating their newer guns so your experience will be different. I really like the feel of the gun and think it looks good. It seems well balanced and easy to hold. I have put probably 3000 or so shots through it. Its got a load of power and performs really well with heavy pellets. I use Beeman Kodiacs and Crosman Premiers-Heavy. For the price this guns value is right where it should be. Its just the right weight for toting around the woods. Its definately not the nicest or most expensive springer (5) I have but it "just feels good". Things I would have changed:I have tuned it up twice now... just finished the 2nd time. Even though it looks good, the 'guts' are a bit rough- not well finished but for the price I can overlook that. The guts are not finished like the German guns but they are ceratinly adequate.
It definately needs heavier pellets. I found light ones had crazy groupings and fliers. When it was new it didn't group at all but after persistance of finding the right pellet and working my own shooting technique, I get pretty good groups. It also trashes scopes quickly so I finally went to iron sights. I suppose if I invested in a high end scope it might hopefully hold up but instead spent money on a good scope for my Beeman R9. I didn't care much for the trigger pull when it was new but after a thousand or so shots things smoothed out nicely. What others should know:As I mentioned earlier its has a lot of spring twang but a tune up will fix that. this is one of those guns that gets notably better with age but you will need to tune it if you want it to last.
Pyramyd Air Tech support rocks. They can get you the stuff you need. Nichole, I think her name was, made me feel like I was the only customer who ever called in that day. An obscure metal piece on the magnum extension lever wore out and broke but she researched the issue/part called me back. She had it in a box before the day was out. Nicole, you set a very high bar for customer service, Thanks!
They also keep schematics for this gun on their web site.
If you are thinking about this gun, for the price you won't be disappinted but like a good bourbon, you have to let it age some. Use as much as you can and it will fit itself to you as much as you adapt to it.
Lastly, build a spring compressor and learn to tune it up.

Things I liked:The workmanship is excellent. I wn the .22 caliber version. I am finding this gun is as much a go-to gun as my Beeman R9 double gold. The Iron sights are pretty good but with a scope, you just can't miss. My general shooting range is between 25-40 yards so find the iron sights are very sufficient. Why do I use the iron sights

The Iron sights are pretty good but with a scope, you just can't miss. My general shooting range is between 25-40 yards so find the iron sights are very sufficient. Why do I use the iron sights so much you ask? This gun is tough on scopes having gone through 2 scopes already after about 3000 shots. I admit I have not spent much on a really good scope but since my ranges are not that far out, I find the Iron sights suficient. I'm getting about 1 inch groups at 30 yards. This gun is very stable and takes a very might hold well. Things I would have changed:Nothing. Maybe a little lighter but the weight probably helps stabilize and make it more accurate. What others should know:Pellets? This gun loves the Crosman Premiers which are a little cheaper than the Beeman Kodiacs. I recently bought a tin of Predator 16gr for hunting and find they are very accurate.
nice works RWS/Diana! This gun has been completely trouble free after 3000plus shots. Its accurate and fun to shoot. Completely worth the money.
Oh, The folks at Pyramid Air couldn't be better to work with really know how to take care of the customer. They are my first place to stop and shop.
