The grip fits my hand well and the magazine is a really neat design that loads BBs really easy. Other good things are that the magazine release and the safety are in the correct locations for people wanting firearm realism.
The trigger is um, weird. It's heavy and does not have a smooth pull at all. Slow shooting is the worst thing you can do with this gun. The trigger really has to be pulled through quickly in one motion to have a chance at shooting the Gamo V3 well. This trigger is a hand exercise device, which is either good or bad. It is great if you want a lot of double action only (DOA) practice to keep your hand in shape for firing a real DAO firearm.
The other weird thing is the barrel. It moves back and forth with the slide when the trigger is pulled. It is not rigidly mounted in the V3. I'm not quite sure why it is built that way, but it doesn't seem to hurt the way the V3 operates compared to fixed barrel CO2 BB guns.
If I had to compare it to other air pistols out there, the Gamo V3 is not the worst or the best. It can get up to 6 magazines of BBs per CO2 cartridge and it is reasonably accurate for a plinker. Even with the crazy trigger pull, the Gamo V3 is right at the top of my air pistol collection when it comes to good entertainment. It is just plain fun to shoot.
(Just be sure to keep it lubed well!)

I wish the trigger was double action/single action like the real firearm. What others should know:I have the "stainless" slide model of the Walther PPK/S CO2 pistol. The blowback is actually the gun's best feature in my opinion. It creates a realistic imitation of recoil and cocks the hammer with each shot. It really feels like a .22 rimfire pistol when the blowback operates the slide.
Of course, the blowback limits the velocity of the BBs by sharing CO2. Plus, the blowback gasses are released at the exact same time that the BB is being pushed down the barrel. Accuracy is tougher to achieve than a real firearm or non-blowback BB gun due to this.
The trigger on this Walther is the best I've ever experienced with a CO2 pistol of this type. Even though the safety is not replicated on the slide like the Walther firearm, it is a good one with a true trigger disconnect.
This is a good garage practice CO2 pistol that can shoot fair groups at 25 feet. 3-1/4" inches is the best grouping I can accomplish when holding with both hands and a firm grip at this distance. Let your grip loosen and your groups will enlarge. That's the blowback you'll be fighting.
If you're not looking for a target gun, and your intentions are plinking or simulated firearm practice . . . the Walther PPK/S CO2 pistol is what you've been looking for!

The 3-dot sights work well, but could be brighter. The double action trigger is about like a real firearm. However, in single action use it is no lighter than its double action, just with less trigger travel.
Just be sure to lube all the mechanical points in this gun since it is a revolver and you don't want all those little pieces breaking too soon. My breach seal blew a gap in it after about 500+ shots. The C02 cartridge seal is still fine. Even with the breach seal virtually useless, this gun still shoots great. I get 12 magazines worth of shooting out of each C02 cartridge. I think the breach seal is overkill and not really needed if my experience tells me anything.
The Gamo PT-80 makes a fine practice pistol for the garage or backyard.

The included scope works well and is clear. This gun is also good with a red dot sight if you're thinking about buying one. Even with this low powered spring gun, you will need a scope stop.
The trigger is good enough for most, but it is gritty with a lot of creep. To get the most from this Gamo, or any other Gamo, put on a GRT-III trigger from Charlie DaTuna. I did and is money well spent.
I've had my Recon for about 1-1/2 years. I have no regrets in purchasing this air rifle and I am still surprisingly satisfied every time I shoot it.

The plastic breech and plastic trigger group are actually well made. The trigger breaks clean with little creep and is not too heavy or too light. The rear aperture sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The diameter of the aperture is a little large for shooting at targets the size of a squirrel head, but it makes for quick sighting and shooting. The ease of shooting (compared to a spring powered airgun) and the good trigger allows for consistent accuracy. Some may wish to scope the 2260, but it really isn't necessary for those happy to use aperture sights.
Two things bothered me when I got my 2260. #1) The stock inletting for the CO2 tube is cut at an angle which makes the C02 tube sit unparallel to the stock. #2) Out of the box the barrel band was loose allowing the barrel to rotate out of position. retightened and locked with thread locking liquid.
Regardless with the two problems I've encountered, I think I'm going to like this air rifle for a long, long time.

The trigger is pretty good in double action and really good in single action. I know the sights faithfully replicate the original Makarov, but they are very hard to use compared to larger 3-dot sights. I like that the safety lever is located (and works) like the real Makarov. I get 4 magazines per C02 cartridge. This gun shoots really tight groups at 10 yards, but my sample's point of impact is about 1" to the right of point of aim.
If you like C02 pistols, you love this Umarex Makarov.
Things I liked:Good all around pellet. Things I would have changed:Nothing. What others should know:Shoots accurately. Loads easily. This pellet is a Jack of All Trades. Perfect for most situations.
Things I liked:Consistently well made pellet to pellet. Things I would have changed:A screw top tin would be awesome. What others should know:Shoots nice tight groups for a hunting pellet. Hits its target with authority. Loads in the chamber of a bolt action air rifle better than pointed pellets.
Things I liked:Cheap price. Reusable screw top tins! Things I would have changed:Nothing. What others should know:This is plinking grade ammo. It shoots high compared to other 14 grain .22 pellets in my air rifle. Groups are on the large side and there are deformities on nearly every pellet in the tin.

Buy it for when you let your kids or friends shoot your air rifle. Keep the screw top tins for you expensive ammo that came in regular top tins.
