Things I liked:Solidly made, does not require CO2 cartridges, does not have the spring piston kick. 22 cal pellet is substantial and hits hard. It will probably not be used reqularly, but in grab and go situations so I did not want something fiddly. I also wanted something that would last for many years, perhaps to be passed on to my young son

It will probably not be used reqularly, but in grab and go situations so I did not want something fiddly. I also wanted something that would last for many years, perhaps to be passed on to my young son. This rifle has stood the test of time, and is mostly unchanged over the years - a successful design. I bought it based on the reviews of other owners and my memory of this type of rifle from my youth. Upon receiving it, I believe I my objectives will be satisfied - a good purchase. Things I would have changed:Perhaps the sights. While the iron sights work well, my eyes are aging and in less that very favorable light, it is hard for me to sight it well. I may add a light colored dot to the (barrel-end) sight, so I can find it easier in low light. Or, I may try a Williams peep sight. I like to keep it simple though. I'm hittling what I'm shooting at, but it takes me longer to find the sight than I'd like.
Trigger pull is a bit long. I'm expecting it to smooth out a bit with use. Having said that, I'd buy one again tomorrow if I needed a pellet gun. What others should know:A good purchase, if it fits your needs. Also, the "Ten for ten" option is a good option, both in saving you the hassle of returning the merchandise if there is a problem (it's mechanical, stuff happens), and more importantly, they send you a chrono of the pellet speed with one, two , three pumps, etc. Most informative, and you will find that you can acutally "dial in" the velocity/impact you desire.
