Things I liked:The price and ease of installation. Rugged, high-impact plastic is very weather resistant. Light weight. Things I would have changed:Nothing. Maybe also make a cheek piece to attach to the top for scope use? What others should know:This will also install on the 2240 and 2300 series of Crosman CO2 guns

Maybe also make a cheek piece to attach to the top for scope use? What others should know:This will also install on the 2240 and 2300 series of Crosman CO2 guns, turning them into sweet little carbines like the 2500 (minus the forestock). Works absolutely great with my 2300KT (the .22 version of the 2300T from the Crosman Custom Shop). When my stock arrived (ordered with the gun) it was warped about 1/2" to the right, but I was able to straighten it out by soaking it in a roasting pan of boiling water on the stove for about 5 minutes and then gently pressing it against the tile edge of the kitchen counter until the bend was removed. I plan to make a zippered pouch to mount in the hole in the stock to hold extra pellet tins and CO2 cartridges and maybe a cleaning kit . This would be very handy on trips afield. I also wish they'd make one for the Benjamin HB22 and EB22 air pistols.
Things I liked:Simple to install and use, rugged, well made and finished, precise elevation adjustment, quick to sight with, big improvement over the 392 factory open sights Things I would have changed:Nothing...maybe make alternative apertures available to buy. What others should know:Aperture sights are quick and easy to use--if you don't try to think about it too much--and much more accurate than regular open sights. I've always preferred them. The two screws used to hold the windage adjustment are not precise like the elevation screw, but once you set it it will hold; this leaves you to fiddle with the elevation screw for different ranges. The factory sights on the Benjamin are easy to remove by resting the butt of the stock on the floor and holding a dowel or wooden block against the front end of the sight (where the windage screw is located) and gently tapping the sight assembly towards the rear. The assembly clamps to two small inserts that lie between the barrel and the pump tube, on each side. Once the assembly clears these inserts, the whole thing comes apart and the three parts fall off.

Things I would have changed:Nothing--it is NOT the absolute PERFECT air pistol, but I doubt you could improve it much without adding substantially to the price. The included manual is a poor, cheap printout of the .pdf one available online at EAA or Pyramyd Air--same text, but with poorly printed, mismatched illustrations and photos. What others should know:This is a GREAT air pistol. If I could buy only one air pistol, it would probably be the IZH 46M--in fact, I might not have ever bought any others if I had bought it first. The gun is so accurate that there is never any doubt about misplaced shots: YOU did it, it's NOT the gun's fault, which uncertainty is something I dislike about my less accurate "plinkers" (Beeman/Webley Tempest & Crosman 2300KT). I thought long and hard about the price before I finally bought the "Izzy," but once I shot it its price never bothered me again; it is worth the $365 I paid. The best trigger and sights I have yet experienced on an airgun. To me, the grip is NOT a problem, as so many others seem to think, when I consider that any serious match competitor will personalize and modify his guns to an obsessive degree to gain the most infinitesimal physical or psychic advantage. No factory furnished grip could possibly fit every hand size and shape, and the IZH 46M grip doesn't even pretend to do so--it's intended to be customized. I wear XL to XXL gloves, and I have been working my grips very slowly over the past few weeks with a wood rasp and sandpaper, removing each uncomfortable edge, bump or "hotspot" until it now is approaching a custom rock-solid "glued in" fit that has become a natural extension of my arm. The dry-fire feature, also criticized elsewhere, seems fine to me as I don't discern any difference in feel between it and a "live" shot, but that might just be me.

It's a long, hard, rough pull to release the hammer--must have been designed by liability lawyers... It would be much better if it were an adjustable two stage trigger instead of the crude single stage it has now, so that you could lighten it to about two to three pounds. The rear sight are also rather crude. My one big wish is that it were made of bronze instead of brass. What others should know:Although the two most important (to me) aspects of the 392--the trigger and the rear sight--are crude, I still think it's an outstanding airgun for all its other attributes and versatility (plus, I've always wanted one since I was a kid, when I settled on the Crosman 760 instead for some forgotten reason). Both these weaknesses can be addressed with aftermarket parts (such as an improved sear and the Williams/Crosman 64 aperture sight). I didn't rate the accuracy because it's been shooting all over the place since I oiled the pump piston (it may be dieseling?), or I need to try different pellets (used Crosman Premier domed in the cardboard box). A few cosmetic blemishes (runs in the stain on the forestock) also disappoint slightly, but all in all I expect this to be a fun gun that should last a long, long time.
