Review entered on 2011-12-27 12:04:49Things I liked:This is what should have been included with your probe for filling your Hammerli rifle. It takes the BSPP male threads and makes them work with the quick disconnect that is used on 99% of the air gun fittings in the good old USA. BSPP is British Standard Parallel Pipe which is used in the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It requires a washer instead of thread sealant, this one is the seal inside. US and Canada connections typically don't use BPSS, they use NPT fittings that use thread sealant instead of a washer seal.
Things I would have changed:Works great.
What others should know:If you are ordering a Hammerli rifle that uses a probe to fill it, you can order this now or you can order it later.

Review entered on 2011-12-27 12:19:04Things I liked:Great price and feel. The rifle is loud! Stock is awesome, just the right fit for me, and the pistol grip style is perfect. Can't beat the value, maybe this price will make the Benjamins price drop? Maybe not.
Things I would have changed:The probe supplied to fill the gun. It has BSPP British/European threads so you will be ordering an adapter that should have been included with the gun--US and Canada use NPT and quick change NOT BSPP, guys, it's called marketing, look it up. They include extra o-rings with the probe, mine all quickly blew apart, get some good USA made o-rings.
What others should know:They now make this rifle with the Quattro trigger, if you get old stock you get the old trigger. It works great, but I would rather have the Quattro.

Almost everyone in the U.S. that fills a PCP uses common 1/8" BSPP-threaded hoses. The description says the thread pattern of the probe is 1/8" BSPP, & Pyramyd Air supplies hoses with that thread pattern. Depending on the shape of the seal on the inside of the hose coupling, it's advisable to use Teflon tape on the threads. If there's an adequate face seal, tape is unnecessary. Use diver's silicone grease on the o-rings to prevent blow-outs.
