Things I liked:This is only the 4th air gun I have owned but have been shooting them since the early 60's and this is my first PCP, and my first in .25 cal. I was very impressed with the quality of this gun and the flexibility of the power and trigger adjustments makes it exceptional. I wanted an air rifle for plinking and controlling pests in my garden and the accuracy of my current air rifle just wasn't consistent. I also have neighbors fairly close and was concerned about the noise. This rifle fit the bill perfectly. Right out of the box (and with an inexpensive scope I had laying around) I was shooting dime size groups using Benjamin Destroyer pellets at 25 yards. The rifle is also even quieter than I expected, the pellet hitting a paper target makes more noise than the rifle. I have put only about 250 pellets through this gun but so far I feel that for the money this has to be the best value out there. Things I would have changed:Nothing.
Things I liked:I purchased this pump for use with my Marauder, which is my first PCP rifle. To date I have shot around 250 pellets through my rifle and so far the pump has worked flawlessly. After reading reviews concerning the use of this pump I gathered all the info I could concerning the proper method for using the pump and so far have had great success. As also noted in reviews the pump can be a little difficult above 2500 psi and does take a little weight to operate. I weigh 180 lbs. and had to learn the right technique for getting the last inch or so of the pump stroke. For anyone wanting to try PCPs and don't have high pressure tanks available (like me) I would recommend this pump as a more affordable alternative. Things I would have changed:Nothing. What others should know:Before using this pump, get all the info you can from reviews and articles on the best operating method.
Things I liked:As part of an air rifle package from Pyramid Air, these were the first pellets I tried in my new Marauder. With the rifle at the factory settings, these pellets proved to be very accurate out to 50 Yards (the max. distance of my target range). After raising the power level of the rifle, shot group size doubled. As a comparison, I have since tried the Benjamin domed pellets with which I was able to hold much tighter groups at both the factory and increased velocity settings. The Destroyer pellet seems to be very hard hitting at the factory setting and the profile may produce more shock, giving it an advantage for hunting but this is only an assumption on my part (so far). When squirrel season re-opens in the fall, I plan to find out for sure. Things I would have changed:Nothing
