Product: Walther P99 Special Operations
Review entered on 2012-02-02 11:11:58Things I liked:Full auto/semi auto switch is nice addition. Blowback is cool as well. Very light and easy for my 8 year old to handle - he loves it. The CO2 version is too heavy and has a tighter trigger - so this electric version is perfect for him. Second magazine is nice bonus.
Things I would have changed:It's light and all plastic - perfect for little hands or someone just looking for a cheap and quality indoor gun or to just mess around with outside. Don't expect the power and range of a C02 or green gas versions. Would be nice if bottom rail could be used to mount weaver attachments on. Also would be better if there was a magazine release button - difficult for my big fingers to grab it to pry it out quickly. Second trigger is a nice safety feature but takes a few times to get used to.
What others should know:Purchased this electric version for my 8 year old and the C02 version for myself - our first experience with Airsoft. He's been drooling over my old BB guns from when I was a kid - so I figured it'd be something cool for us to check...let him work his way up to a BB gun, then maybe a .22 rifle in a few years. He loves it so far after a few clips through it. Range is decent and pretty accurate between 25-50 ft. We're getting about 100 ft or so max but round starts to drop quick so it's not very accurate at that range. Buy a speed loader and some extra magazines if you plan to use as a primary weapon! So far it's proving to be a great choice for us beginners. First order from Pyramyd Air and couldn't be happier with their prices, website functionality, service and speed of shipping - will be ordering from them again for sure.

Review entered on 2012-02-02 11:17:50Things I liked:Fairly inexpensive, mounts easily, easy operation. Looks very cool and works as advertised.
Things I would have changed:More sturdy and tighter mounting - can slide or get knocked off. Nice and bright indoors but not really visible outside on a sunny day. Will replace the factory batteries soon and see how that helps.
What others should know:Mounted on front, bottom rail of my new Walther P99 CO2 with no problem. Great for show and indoors/outdoors CQB - but limited functionality outdoors at any significant distance. However, that's to be expected for a laser at this price range.

Things I would have changed:Blowback is cool but wonder how much it affects FPS. After the wow factor of it wears off, I'd trade it for more range. Would be great if magazine was double stacked for more capacity like the green gas version. Has a non-adjustable hop up and slide isn't removable like green gas version. Additional magazines are a must but are overpriced at around $12.
