Things I liked:

2-7 is an ideal real world power. 2 is great for stability and 7 is as much magnification as any human can actually hand hold. turret clicks are solid. Illumination is good. Adjustable bell "can" take the parallax out at any range. Scope is plenty bright, don't think you have to have a giant objective, even at 7 power this scope is as bright as a 50 at 12 power. Mounts perfectly, (nice and down tight to the the barrel) in Burris Signature medium 22 rings. +20 shims rear, -10 front. The lock pin worked well in the rear ring on the RWS48 rail. without the pin I could not get the ring clamp tight enough not to move back 0.040 with each shot. about 200 shots have passed under the scope so far. I'm grouping under 1" at 60 feet. I'm a long time gun powder burner, this is my first air rifle, learning to use a very light hold seems key to consistent shots that let the scope shine. Optically this scope is pretty darn good. At 7 power there is a tiny bit of chromatic aberration, but that's not uncommon even on much more expensive scopes. edge to edge sharpness is good. eye relief distance usability is nice and broad perhaps an inch back and forth so its not a hard scope to shoot quickly. comes with see thru cover caps which I much prefer over flip caps on an adjustable bell scope.

Things I would have changed:

I'm often a low light hunter. the lowest illumination level is perfectly usable but brighter than I would choose to dial in if there were a few lower illumination clicks. That said, its not my $1800 IOR sniper scope, so I can't really complain, this is just a wish list item.

What others should know:

This was my first springer air rifle mount, RWS 48. While the felt recoil is very low compared to any of my hunting rifles, the severity of the spring jerk is amazing. I could not get the ring mounts tight enough for them not to walk backward with each shot. Using the included pin was not an option it was a necessity.

Things I liked:

I like the price and the physical size of the scope. The turrets adjust easily. It was available. The clearness of the glass I guess is about par on this price point, but it is not as clear as a over 25 year old RWS 4X it is replacing. I could have done without the illuminated reticle for +/- $50.00 less, but this was the one they had at the time.

Things I would have changed:

The adjustable objective, the power setting and the illuminated reticle controls are stiff and hard to turn. For somebody needing to adjust the objective often over a course of fire, you should go looking for one easier to turn. Or hope it becomes easier with use.

What others should know:

I installed this on a .22LR rifle, so I have no idea how well it would (could) perform on an airgun.

    Excellent build quality

I like the IR. No I don’t always use it, but when I need it, it’s there and a great feature - worth the added cost. So far I have two different Hawke scopes and a Hawke red dot. Completely satisfied with all three.

Etched glass reticle, Calibrated( reticle, turrets, AO). Smooth AO and eye bell. Crisp turret clicks. Repeatable actions.

    Things I would have changed:

Anything I would change, the Hawke AMX 2-7x32 has changed. Love them both except the scope caps.

    Things I liked:

Clear optics and reticle. The packaging and owners manual are well done and of high quality. I have several Hawke scopes mounted on springers and feel they meet my needs quite well for optical clarity and durability.

    Things I would have changed:

The brightness adjustment control is difficult to turn. I see other reviewers have commented on this too, so it is not just my scope.

    What others should know:

I tried the illuminated reticle at different brightness settings and found it of marginal usefulness. I shoot outdoors exclusively and even on dull, overcast days I am not sure the IR is a useful feature. I shoot at bullseye targets and small reactive targets like empty shotgun hulls. A non-illuminated reticle has always been adequate. Maybe if you are hunting in limited light the IR might be helpful. But for outdoor target shooting I would not buy another scope with IR.

    Things I liked:

The clarity, quality, size, weight, etched reticle,...

    Things I would have changed:

If you could make this a side focus without increasing size, weight and price, I would like that. Otherwise, don't bother.

    What others should know:

I have one of these. I have given it the coveted 3R (RidgeRunner Recommended) rating. Unless you are shooting 100+ yards, this is all you really need. The clarity is incredible. The only negative for this scope is it will not take what the uber magnum sproingers dish out. I am trying mine out right now on my Webley/Hatsan Tomahawk in a Diana ZR mount. It is not broken yet (fingers crossed). If the ZR mount delivers in the accuracy department, I will be tickled pink.

    Things I liked:

    That it works great.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing. It works just fine. I just wish they made scopes like this with more magnification.

    What others should know:

Theb fuel shoots 13 to 14 ftlbs depending on the pellet. Been using it on an umarex fuel for about 5 years now. Won the fuel at the pyramydair cup. Dropped this scope on it and never had a problem since. Shooting 2inch spinner out to 60 yards. My nefew uses this rifle and at the time he was 7 and hitting everything. There was a time we had 1 inch spinners out to 35 yards and we wer smoking them to. Nothing wrong with this scope.

    Things I liked:

The optics are clear, the scope is light, w/e adjustments very tactile. The cross hair is very fine and the magnification range is on point for hunting out to 50 yards or so. I got this scope for my marauder then put it on my prosport. It has been on 3 rifles over a couple years and works well.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing for the price point

    What others should know:

This scope is not spring gun rated, but it will work well for a while. 3k shots between an hw50 and a prosport, both mild recoiling guns, the zero does shift periodically.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

I liked just about everything about it. The 2 x 7 power is all I feel I need for general air rifle use (plinking and backyard squirrels) and I like the adjustable brightness illuminated mil dot reticle. The illumination does help my old eyes. I also liked the overall size of the scope.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

The scope was mounted on my .177 Umarex Octane. I only gave it a 4 star overall rating because after probably less than 500 shots the reticle started to rotate inside the tube. I have sent it back to PA for an exchange but have yet to receive the replacement as they are presently backordered. Other than the rotating reticle I was very pleased with it and am looking forward to getting the replacement.

    Things I liked:

Excellent optic, beautiful etched reticle that is fine enough for very precise shot placement, but dual illuminated for great visibility in any situation. Adjustments seem very positive and predictable. I had no trouble "walking in" my shots for zeroing. I must say as well, I believe for practical off hand shooting, the 2-7 power range is outstanding.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing to date.

    Things I liked:

So for so good. After over 100 rounds it is still working.

    Things I would have changed:

Put in a manual in the box.

    What others should know:

Will not work with the RWS mount. It is too short I had to grind the mount to make it fit.

    Rating 2.02.0 2.0

    Things I liked:

Nice illuminated Reticle. I really like the thin reticle (crosshairs) and the small mil-dots.

    Things I would have changed:

Upgrade the optics for better focus.

    What others should know:

I was disappointed in the focus. The optics just are not up to par. The focus was okay at 10 yards, but when I moved to just only 16 yards it became difficult to get my target into focus. When I shot at 40 yards the focus was okay. There seems to be a range of 15 yds to 20 yards where it is difficult to get a sharp focus. My BSA scopes have a much higer quality optics and BSA gives me easy and very sharp focus, regardless of distance. All of my future scope purchases will be BSA. I plan to buy a BSA scope and put this Hawke scope on my shelf for backup purposes only.

    Things I liked:

Built like an iron pipe. Pretty good optics, illuminated cross hairs, very usable zoom range, great for real-world field shooting and hunting.

    Things I would have changed:

Built like an iron pipe. This thing is heavy, like really surprisingly heavy for a scope with these compact dimensions. Illuminated reticle isn't quite bright enough to stand up to bright overcast. Zoom and objective adjustment rings are VERY stiff, I hope they loosen up with use... at least I know they won't move unless I want them to.

    What others should know:

A great scope for the money. At 4X-zoom my old leapers 4x32 AO is ever so slightly sharper, but the Hawke has better contrast. Edge sharpness starts to suffer beyond 5x, but center sharpness is good through the zoom range. You could probably bludgeon someone to death with this little scope, it's heavy and VERY solidly built.

    Things I liked:

Holds zero clear optics value for mony

    Things I would have changed:

    What others should know:

Does not work well in low light but this is Normal for. 32 objective too small to allow enough light

  • Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Affordable, illuminated reticle, mil dot, AO, and accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

Offer the same feature set with much better optics at twice the price.

    What others should know:

Holds zero on my light recoil Beeman R7. Optics are average, not great, and I can see a little "fuzz" with a brightly lit targets, low contrast subjects are fine. Illuminated reticle is a nice feature. The mil-dot seems calibrated for 10x power, since the scope is a 7x you cannot get true milling. So just use it a 5x and half your mildot calculations. I would buy another one because the price and feature set are perfect for me. NOTE: I will update this review down the road if the scope fails.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

This scope has a very nice look to it. The coating on the main tube is dark and even. The objective bell is textured enough to make adjusting easy but not so lose that it will change by being brushed by an arm sleeve or coat.

    Things I would have changed:

It is a little heavy for a scope of its power. Some larger numbers on the power magnification collar would be nice too.

    What others should know:

Worth every penny! I have bought other scopes in this price range that cannot hold a candle to this quality. I just wish I had bought one sooner.
