Things I liked:

Powerful and quiet! Love the scope and the scope rail.

Things I would have changed:

The trigger! It's horrible. I just installed a GRTIII, made an incredible difference! I have seen a lot of complaints about the trigger on all of the comments. You guys need to order this trigger from charliedatuna.com. $32, shipping included. Money well spent. Also, they need to offer a composite/synthetic stock in the XL series.

What others should know:

Not for kids. This is a heavy gun that is hard to cock. I like the weight, seems to help me steady the shot.

Things I liked:

Nothing

Things I would have changed:

Accuracy

What others should know:

I purchased one of these 2 years ago and I wish I could get a full refund. I have tried at least 5 different pellets and none of them have any consistent accuracy.

Nothing rlly jt needs fixing Jt beware of the little things that will matter later on $320 and it’s worse then my gamo swarm maxxim gen2

    What others should know:

Jt know at least with mines the scope is straight up right with the rifle with a level but when u hold it it’s so off.. and the center cross hair is off to the right it’s not even in the middle of the rifle it’s literally off to the right I have the same problem with the Benjamin prowler the first one they came out with it’s $220 more and it has orange peel on the shroud, center of the scope is off to the right, and when it’s leveled the scope is still crooked lmao I ain’t gonna complain abut the weight like most ppl cuz it says it and it’s not that heavy lol. Btw sadly they stopped including the sling idk why when it’s only worth $13 and the rifle has so much little things wrong with it smh but it’s definitely accurate

    Things I liked:

With little shooting experience (my first pellet gun) and less than 200 pellets of 27.8 grain Benjamin domed pellets. I’m able to hit 8 out of 10 shots on a 12x12 aluminum plate at 80 yards. No wind today with the elevation adjustment of the scope completely maxed out for drop aiming about 6 inches above the target. At this range on 1/8 aluminum plate it leaves about a 1/32 deep dent on the front. That’s with the plate affixed solid to a tree wider than the target. The grouping is about 7 inch with a few flyers. Still not fully broken in yet only ran about 175 shots through it max.

    Things I would have changed:

A bit more fps would be nice to push that range out a bit

    What others should know:

Easy to cock, load and shoot. I’m not a big dude at all (5.10 and 145) and I can shoot this all day long.

Accuracy is The Most important must have for me and this rifle is Very accurate! I can hit the same hole 4 out of 5 shots! I love this rifle. :)

    Things I would have changed:

I wouldn't change a thing on it. The kit included a very nice scope. Once i got used to the release point of the 2nd stage of the trigger, it's a fun rifle to shoot.

    What others should know:

Don't expect this break barrel to be as easy as a kid's bb rifle. Highly recommend!

    Things I liked:

Fit and finish. Power. Brand name reputation.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is lacking. Long travel, gritty, heavy. I know Benjamin / Crosman can do better. The gun is certainly hard to shoot offhand as is. Accuracy is lacking.

    What others should know:

I bought this based on brand name, price, advertised accuracy and power. (.22 caliber) Since having it, I have been disappointed on accuracy. I have had it long enough to spend quite a bit of time trying different pellets and scopes. It chronographs consistently with only a minimum extreme spread and standard deviation, yet I can not get it to group reliably within 1-1/2 inches at 10 (yes 10) yards. 25 yards groups are 4" if I am lucky and further is paper plate size groups or worse. I can say it does group better with the heavier pellets, trying 14.3 to 19 grains. After working with it for awhile, I can say at this point I wish I spent this money (and time) on one of the different guns I have purchased through Pyramid Air. I shoot in a break barrel "fun league" and can tell you that I am at a disadvantage, even when other shooters bring their 40+ year old family heirlooms.

    Things I liked:

Read the reviews, bought one anyway. Been shooting Benjamins since 1963 (312 .22 pump, still have it. 7th birthday). Cleaned barrel, mounted scope and took 3 shots this evening. Just TOOK a rat at 20 ft. Trigger is not the Geissele I put in my AR, but is not a problem. Gun hits HARD!!! Dropped rat like the fist of THE ALMIGHTY and put 1 inch dent in stainless feed bowl behind it. KUDOS to Crosman. FINE GUN!!!

    Things I would have changed:

Would be nice to have open sights. Might have to figure out a way to mount them when the warranty is out.

    What others should know:

Do not believe the naysayers. Clean the the barrel, tighten the screws, mount the scope and get ready. SUPERB RIFLE!

    Things I liked:

    Very consistent accuracy

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger pull is long and heavy I would prefer shorter lighter trigger. Also put this unit in the composite stock the .22 cal comes in . Thumb hole is uncomfortable and sort has an odd feel but that maybe because I am used to the .22cal with a black composite stock.

    What others should know:

I sighted this gun in when it was 0 degrees, my last three shots at 20 yards were tight enough to cover with a dime. So far I like this gun and glad I bought it. If I can not adjust the trigger to my liking I will replace it with an after market trigger. Check the barrel if you get one , the first time I cocked the gun I noticed the barrel was NOT screwed in tight and I had to torque it down at the range.

    Things I liked:

Very powerful for a break barrel air rifle, the grip is quite comfortable and allows for more stability.

    Things I would have changed:

barrel needs to be stronger. while cocking the air rifle, my hand slipped causing the barrel to be flung back which bent the barrel upward, so I put my knee on the body of the air rifle and pushed the barrel back down with my arm. an air rifle barrel shouldn't be weak enough be able to be bent by hand or by being released while cocking.

    What others should know:

make sure to have a vary firm grip on the barrel while cocking

    Things I liked:

Wood stock is nice. Seems to have pretty good power and accuracy so far but i just got it and have not fired it much. I wanted to get mine from pyramid air but they were out of stock so this review is nothing to do with pyramids or their great service.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger on mine is the absolute worst trigger i think i have ever seen. I did not expect a match trigger but this is terrible. Cocking feels bad as well. VERY gritty and draggy feel even after making sure it was lubricated. Parts have edges sharp enough to skin a deer. Very poorly done for the money. Seems as tho they are slapped together and tossed into the shipping containers as fast as the Chinese can go to get our dollars.

    What others should know:

Benjamin rifles made in china are a poor attempt to produce a rifle like the older US made ones. I have experienced two of them now and both were in my opinion- garbage. Parts may or may not be good but details are overlooked. I will not buy any more crosman / benjamin products made in china. If you want a decent air rifle I think it is best to spend the money and get German or English made.

    Things I liked:

Wow!!! The 25 cal is nice with most pellets in my opinion. I love the wood the all steel barrel and its very quiet for the backyard. Not only is it quieter than most of my break barrels that i have but in my opinion this 25 call can compete with my hatsan convoire .30 cal in the hunting game i was astonished at what it can do When i hit some pigeons to much gun for birds this could handle some coyotes, opossum, hog fur type at 30 yrds if ya practice, this a lot of airgun definitely Lewis n clark status here not a toy!!!! A++++

    Things I would have changed:

Not much very nice air rifle for the price. I can manage with the screws coming loose once in a while because it even says in the manual it will become loose to tightened once in a while cause it happens i guess. Scope is great too very clear its holding up after 125 shots i mean its a centerpoint if ya know ya know this scope at big 5 is expensive so a steal that crossman even like just gives you a 100 dollar scope so nothing to change try it!!!

    What others should know:

Yah so right outta the box you will not get tight groups at all but definitely a bullseye the first few shots, it needs about id say truly 150 shots to group well and its a heavy air gun this not a toy not a ladies gun cause you will not group free hand very well it took me alot to get three in red and i had to hold it tight with no bench but this airgun is definitely a Lewis n clark days hunting gun very strong very 1898ish like feel you can definitely feel the history when you hunt with this thing Benjamin definitely did this airgun right in style but its not everyones cup of tea if you looking to target shoot and think right out the box its going to group a dime well dont get this one but if you do and take the time with it know the hold spend a whole day then you will be very satisfied get it while u can they sell sad no more .177 for that price its literally a steal

    Things I liked:

I have the NP2 in plastic stock I wish it was wood but my first time with benjamin I opted to go cheaper. Im use to RWS guns but the one I have is just as if not more accurate. It is much quieter and a little smoother than my RWS 54 spring gun. I am sighted at 100yds with both and on a calm day can tear up a 2x3 inch target at 104yards with crossman pellets. The benjamin has 4x scope and IF you Learn how to shoot it, it will do it. There is a trick to accuracy with pellet gun that you must master. My gun has approx 5000 rounds with no issues yet. I do add a few drops of pure silicon oil every 1000 shots.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger could be better but IF you LEARN the trigger it is still no problem.

    What others should know:

If benjamin is still producing good air rifles these days you should not be sorry. It is just as dependable and accurate as much more expensive guns. I have been shopping for another looking at $600 guns but all in all the NP is just as good and I will get another NP in wood. But no matter which one you pick, even if the gun is perfect you MUST LEARN to shoot it correctly to be accurate and you dont need to spend $1000. The gun can do it IF you do your part.

    Things I liked:

I like the style and the feel. Wood grain looks good with the Benjamin logo. It comes with a rail-mounted scope. Its powerful in .25 caliber.

    Things I would have changed:

The accuracy is terrible. The overall quality of the gun is underwhelming. Trigger isn't very good. The one I received had a 1" flaw in the wood stock. The barrel came unscrewed from the force of me cocking it. It's noticeably harder to cock than a comparable Hatsan. When resting the rifle on sandbags, the barrel would flop open; it didn't want to stay "latched".

    What others should know:

I typically love Benjamin stuff, which is why I opted to buy this Trail NPXL over the other choices on the market. In summary, I was disappointed with this break-barrel. I sent it back to P.A. This is the first airgun I have returned to them out of the 10 or so I have bought. It just wasn't very good. My dad has a Hatsan 95 that I liked, so I opted to use my store-credit to purchase the Hatsan 135 in .25". I am glad that I did, because the Hatsan 135 is a nicer, better built, higher quality airgun than the Benjamin Trail NPXL. For the same money, I would strongly recommend the Hatsan over the Benjamin in this particular line of product. As a side note, P.A. made the return easy, so that was nice.
