Things I liked:Plenty of power on every shot, unlike CO2, quality build, nice weight and balance, easy to cock even though it says 30-35 lbs, once sighted in the scope is very accurate. The noise level is very tolerable, even lower than I expected.
Things I would have changed:can't think of anything. The pricing is a little high, but you get what you pay for.
What others should know:No this is a great air gun!

Things I liked:The reviews made this appear to be a worthwhile purchase
Things I would have changed:Better manufacturing qualtiy control
What others should know:This gun broke after a dozen rounds. If you buy this gun, make sure you use it before the 30 day no questions asked refurn period. There's a piece that looks like a bent coat hanger that apparently controls the cocking mechanism. Wonderfully robust design for a .22.

Things I liked:I have the .177, anything under 800 fps for me unless it is 9mm or larger is too slow. There is no debate, in the words of Mythbusters "I reject your reality and insert my own". This gun is accurate to 40 yds, that's all I ask of it. I've seen someone shoot pop cans at 130 yds with the open sights but he and the feat are an anomaly. It's easy to cock, light, and quiet. Too all you naysayers out there talking about noise... two things to consider.... and physics WINS. Sorry Pyramid, but it seems a lesson in noise is needed for some folks. Skip to what you should know for the quick physics lesson.
Things I would have changed:Pretty much nothing, except you should NEVER touch the gun forward of the groove in the bottom of the stock for the cocking. Learn to hold it, it won't be a problem. Also, don't by from a store unless you are ready to return it... I think some stores must store their rifles in cigar humidifiers that are humidified by a salt water tank... and they must occassionaly spray an acetone substance. If you don't know, don't ask... just buy one from a reputable dealer. I should have bought mine from Pyramid, instead I went through three with various problems that weren't the construction (Gamo). The rear sight screw is not secured, watch it if you have it close to max or you'll be looking for it. Other than that... NADA. As to people claiming the target hears the rifle, this may or may not be true. Animals have better hearing than humans, but depending on what you are shooting at and the light conditions they may also see it! Especially if you miss. A 9mm bullet travelling at 1000 fps is visible to the eye if the conditions are right. So an animal, especially a bird could easily "see" a pellet if it was looking and the conditions were right. I won't get into variables there, but the whisper is quiet from a target point of view. Great "I have neighbors" gun. And if your shooting supersonic and complaining about noise... just skip asking about physics and take a class. Or ask... it's less expensive.
What others should know:Physics... so complicated. To humans and most animals high pitch is annoying, bass not nearly so much. Turn the treble to max on your stereo to verify, preferably on some acid rock. If you are shooting the gun, your experience will always be "loud"... the vibration (noise) travels through the stock into your skull and is translated as loud... the spring clang. At five feet it might still seem "loud". Without getting into technicalities, high pitch/frequency does not travel as well as low noises. So... if you extend your listening distance to 10 yds, 20 yds, 30 yds, you will notice a significant fall off in the whispers report as compared to other airguns. If you doubt this, move further from the shooter and compare... it's a fact that isn't disputable. My Walther Talon .22 sounds quieter at the muzzle to 10 feet than the .177 whisper. Extend that range and the only noise you hear from the Whisper is the pellet whizzing by. Conversely the Talon is audible at 30 yds... although negligible as being a significant "noise". The point most of the naysayers seem to be missing is that it is meant to be less audible at the target, which it accomplishes. Done so by allowing baffles so the expelled air doesn't create an audible noise at range... The only issue here is the 52%, Gamo doesn't say how or where that was measured... and I'm not paying the money to figure it out. Suffice to say, no one outside 15 ft. or so will have any idea what you are doing. Go back to things I would Change.

Things I liked:gun is light and easy to shoot. I adjusted the trigger pull length to shorten it a lot to prevent pulling off target when firing. The scope was not sighted in as described. Took some adjustment time and shooting to get it right. Scope is adequate.
Things I would have changed:The noise level is not much better than non dampered barrel. I wrapped some wash cloths and foam rubber around the dampner, and taped it as well , which helped quite a bit, but you have to have the scope mounted in order to do that or the front sight is not visible.
What others should know:Not as quiet as you'd expect. This is my second Gamo of this size, one without sliencer, and then new one which is not exactly as quiet as described.

Things I liked:very nice sights, noise depresser make a great cocking lever, accuracy, 22 caliber power
Things I would have changed:maybe the trigger but this is my second gamo rifle i knew what to expect, i can live with it with out any trouble. i would bring back full steel barrel. i would sell the gun with out a scope.
What others should know:mine is a whisper 22 not as quiet as 52% thats over half. shot great right out of the box fiber optic sights were dead on left and right enough to cut small weeds into at 15 ft only took a little adjustment to line up on paper. i have shot it about 500 times sofar with no problems. the scope needed to be adjusted to be clear on level 5 to be clear on 3-9 . i read where the scope rail was to soft and decieded to use fiber optic sights only, that was the real reason i got this gun was great sights! all in all great air rifle i would buy another if it was needed and it would be a gamo have fun shoot safe and enjoy your air rifle

Things I liked:I like the scope. For an air rifle it is well fitted. The weight is nice and it seems durable. It is very accurate for close range shots. Very good gun for paper targets.
Things I would have changed:I was extremely disapointed in the noise of the weapon. It does not at all fit what you advertise. I purchased the weapon in the hopes it would be quiet. I live in town and have a severe rodent problem (I'll leave it at that), I needed it to be quiet as not to stir unwanted attention to my plight. The first weapon I purchased from you was an air pistol (couldn't handle the job, but quiet). Now I wished I would have bought a daisy pump air gun for a quarter of the cost. I won't be purchasing strike three from your company, so please remove me from your mailing list. Again, extremely disappointed.
What others should know:Please be very careful how you read the statics and check with someone who spent the money on one before you buy it, save yourself alot of disappointment and money. The ads are there to get you to spend not help solve problems.

Things I liked:Very lightweight, Nice Stock, @ calibers available, Silencer/Dampener works well (although unsilenced powerplant is quite loud, but no muzzle blast). Silencer makes a nice muzzle break for cocking. Seems to have accuracy potential, but jumps around a bit, perhaps due to breaking in. Power is there, very close to the full 1000 fps. Safety works well. Sleek appearance and feel. Mild recoil. Nice buttpad.
Things I would have changed:Open sights are hardly usable. There is lots of play in the rear sight, and brushing against it will knock it off target. Usable, but not for pinpoint accuracy. Ok for plinking. Too much plastic, though it keeps the gun super-light. The barrel and entire breech blocks are all plastic, though strong and well made, metal against plastic doesnt seem like a good idea to me in high stress and high friction areas. Breech block and pivot point should be metal and more metal in the barrel too/thinner fluting imo. At the end of the cocking stroke, I could almost detect the barrel (steel encased in poly shell) bowing/bending very slightly, and all these things worried me regarding longevity and accuracy issues. The trigger has long creep and an uncertain let off point. Something youd probably want to improve if you could (grtIII trigger etc.) Barrel had some play unless tightened down quite snug. Again, plastic sandwiched between metal...
What others should know:To be honest, Ive not been that interested in Gamos, but the silencer , weight, and .22 made me want to try it. To me Gamo seems like a lot of corporate marketing flash, without backing it up on the products, craftsmanship, and really making an airgunner's gun. Cases in point are the usage of exaggerated velocity claims (PBA), The PBA pellets, which seem destructive to magnum springers, the triggers, and expedient engineering choices (too much plastic...). I just think they need to get people with real knowledge of the sport and tighten things up. This gun has a lot of great points, but for the money, something like RWS, Hammerli, walther, or crosman seems a better value, in my personal opinion. Man, I wish we could buy airgun silencers as easy as they can in UK and some places in Europe.

      Things I liked:Adjustable trigger
      Things I would have changed:Scope
What others should know:One allen wrenchs provided did not fit well. Scope zeroed within 6 shots at 20yds. Seems fairly accurate at 20yds with 4 shots within the size of a quarter. Scope adjustment for left to right seemed opposite. Up and down are ok. Scope and trigger are really not that bad at this price. Ammo used Predator .22 cal 16g pointed.

Things I liked:The power and accuracy. I am far-sighted now, so I couldn't use the fiber optic sights. Once I got the scope dialed in, it was very accurate. Quiet. Some may complain it's not "that quiet",. but for a .22 cal. air rifle of this velocity, it's damn quiet. A weak, low velocity .177 may well be quieter, but that isn't what I wanted.
Things I would have changed:The trigger, and I wish I had ordered it with the gas air spring. Those are both things I can remedy later.
What others should know:Good ammo is key. Try several types. Make sure it's quality ammo, not cheap stuff. So far, I like the Game PBA Gold Plated high velocity ammo. Will try the RWS sabot .22 cal ammo soon.

      Things I liked:All weather. Power.
Things I would have changed:The trigger, obviously. The rear sights are OK, but still a bit on the cheap side. Fix the sound dampener's end cap so it doesn't go flying off. Use some thread locker on the scope mount stop screw (the one attatched to the gun out of the box)
What others should know:I have a 17 cal. This gun requires a fair amount of practice to shoot correctly... you cannot use a sling, bipod, or bench rest to sight in this gun. This gun is loud enough to scare the squirrels... they do backflips out of the way before the pellet gets to them. crazy, I know. My end cap for the suppressor went missing (i take good care of this gun, it wasn't dropped or anything). The scope mount (the one attached to the gun it's self) stop screw will back out, so when you take it out of the box, put some thread locker on it.

Things I liked:The scope and iron sites on this rifle are the best! The stock and trigger are worth the money. I like the .22 cal version and will never go back to .177. The recoil pad is compfortable and loading of the break barrel is simple enough to where my youngster can handle it. Big advantage to this rifle is weight. Its heavy enough to place on a rest and get good aim while being light enough to carry around for several hours of squirrel hunting.
Things I would have changed:Order with or install the gas spring! Recoil is a major factor on this gun especially with .22 cal. Warn the user in the instruction set when cleaning the gun to avoid disturbing the silencer. The plastic arrangement on the end of the barrel can trap debris and cloth after a good barrel scrub. You have to look down the barrel when done to ensure no strands of cloth or patch are in the way. if they are, you pellet will be drastically effected for accuracy. A clean rifle is and accurate rifle. Gammo needs to stress this in their documentation. Somebody needs to come up with a special that includes cleaning equipment for the rifle. Accuracy depends on clean rifling.
What others should know:Be sure to follow the scope set up instructions. I did not set the recoils screws and paid the price with "scope creep" It took me 150 rounds to finally realize the recoil was causing the scope to creep back. The rifle is very accurate and windage adjustments are rarley encountered. Elevation adjustments are still in question. If I fire within 30 yards of a target no problem. Beyond that Im still having issues of hold over. This may be due to cleaning but still not sure.

Things I liked:Love the look.Very accurate right out of the box.Fantastic power.Easy to cock and load.Scope easy to mount and sight in.
Things I would have changed:Trigger and better scope. But not that that bad.Trigger has long pull and is somewhat stiff, takes some getting used to.I find the scope works best on the lowest power.
What others should know:After 6 days on the job my garden is now safe from those pesky, destructive tree rats..1 shot 1 kill...2 shots 2....well you know the rest....Buy the wisper and you will be happy...I know i am : ) : )

Things I liked:I have seen some of the other reviews that people have posted on accuracy and wonder if I got the same rifle as they got. Mine was dead accurate right out of the box. The scope was much better than what others have posted. I put mine on and it was dead on for windage and needed only a slight adjustment for elevation. It took me less than 5 rounds to get it dialed in. I have shot about 4 times since I dialed it in and the scope has not moved and was accurate every time I shot it. I was able to shoot a 1.5 inch group at 90 ft yesterday with 20 shots. I can't even do that with my Ruger 10/22. In other words, it is probably one of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot. I don't know what others have to claim that the scope is junky but I liked it. The trigger isn't as bad as I thought it would be after reading the other reviews but it could be upgraded I guess. I'm going to order it today just to see how much more accurate that the gun gets. I think accuracy has a lot to do with the shooter. I have a pretty steady hand and a very small arc of motion when shooting so I may have an advantage over others. The bottom line is that I was really impressed with the rifle. I would buy it again and would recommend it to others. I took it to an actual gun range and I got a few snickers when I pulled it out of the case because of it being an air rifle but a few guys who saw me shoot it wanted to try it out after they saw me blow the center out of a target at 90 ft.
Things I would have changed:The trigger maybe. The rifle had a great feel overall.
What others should know:I got the .22 version of the gun and have only used the Meisterkugeln 14 gr. wadcutter ammo thus far. It is a very good match for this rifle.

Things I liked:The scope for the money, is a good scope. The rifle itself lends itself to ease of carry and hold for an accurate shot. It is quiet if you aren't the shooter and aren't using PBA pellets... which is probably a bad idea anyway. Despite what anyone says, this rifle is accurate. The shooter makes a huge difference.
Things I would have changed:The trigger is rough, it smooths out with time but I don't like it in comparison to other triggers. The rifle isn't necessarily hold sensitive but DO NOT touch the barrel on anything or the fore end of the stock on anything. It is consistently a problem if you rest this rifle different ways. Shoot it how you will SHOOT it and it will give the same result. Touch anything you don't regularly touch and you may suffer a wildly missed shot. I always hold the forward hand at the same place or rest it at the same place... this is relatively simple if you do any long range shooting otherwise find a mark and keep it. The POI can be altered severely if you just squeeze forward of the spring rest. Putting that in simple terms of things I would change, the barrell should be more stable because it doesn't take much. DO NOT REST THE BARRELL ON ANYTHING.
What others should know:This gun will shoot bugs at 33 yards. It will do it consistently, and it is accurate. The trigger is rough if you like perfect triggers but it does wear to a relatively smooth pull. Mount the scope yourself, and do it right, if you don't know how contact someone that does. Last, don't use PBA ammo. I don't use enough PBA ammo to know if it will damage the gun but I can tell you it isn't accurate enough to warrant the velocity increase. I've used rockets and wadcutters and acheived uniform results. Oh... break in for the gun is at least 300 rds. if you don't have the patience for that forget it. Prior to that it will hit then move, hit then move... until you get a good wear.

Things I liked:nice build for a synthetic stock, fun to shoot
What others should know:The 1st gun I received from pyramid air had a manufactures defect, not their fault but maybe gamo could fire their guns before they leave the plant. The gun would shoot several inches to the right and no amount of scope or sight adjustment could fix the problem. The return service was easy and fast. Replacement gun I received is very accurate. Note to newbs, if you have never fired a springer they are loud, nothing like a pump or CO2. I will buy again, due to excellent customer service and fast turnaround.

      Things I liked:Looks and quietness.
      Things I would have changed:Trigger.
What others should know:Had the dealer install the gas piston. Just received the gun and put about 100 rounds through it yesterday. Couldn't get groups any better than 5" @ 25 yards and even then had fliers. Has the 3-9 scope that came with it. Not worth the money. I can shoot 1" groups @ 25 yards, with iron sights, using my buddies Benjamin pump.

      Things I liked:Lightweight,accurate,and quiet for a springer..22 available!
Things I would have changed:Stock Trigger.
What others should know:You will get the best shot groups, using GAMO Hunter pellets.I can only speak for the .22 version of this gun.Master a shooting technique, where you hold the gun as lightly as possible, and let the gun do it's thing.Springers are very hold sensitive,so focus on using the same hold, and technique, every time, and you will get KILLER shot groups with this gun. Order a GRT III trigger! This is the best single upgrade you will EVER get for this gun. The noise dampening system DOES work.It is not that apparent to the shooter, and you may be disappointed at first, because you may think it should be quieter. This is because what you will hear,is actually the spring, and piston cycling, when it is fired. But at a distance this gun is VERY quiet. The more the gun breaks in the quieter it will get.You could probably nail a squirrel in the head from 50 ft.away, and your next door neighbor could be standing outside, and wouldn't hear it.Not that I know anything about that. Lets just say it's an educated guess. You will like this gun. I noticed some vibration upon firing I didn't like.I corrected this by stuffing the gun stalk with memory foam.Vibration gone! This is a hard rifle to put down,at the end of the day!

Things I liked:Really nice looking Rifle! the noise dampener wether it works or not gives it a great touch, it balances the rifle very nice as well as gives it a nice look. most of the reviews say that the scope that comes with it is a waste but actually mine is working fine so far have 100 rounds througt it and still on target. Its pretty accurate!
Things I would have changed:the "iron Sights" are really plastic the one in the back its kind of loose and the clics are NOT crisp or clear. the trigger I didnt even bother too try it I changed it as soon as I got it with a turbo Tune from CDT and the famous golden trigger of course. The scope doesnt realle have an eye focus.
What others should know:Really nice Rilfe, shoots great, a dimond in the rough as many said. a turbo tune and a GTR III trigger and you will have a great shooter.

Things I liked: JOHN from AL,,Apr19,09,,age 61 I have a lot of years experience with firearms,,especially .22 cal rifles but little knowledge of air rifles. The .22 cal Whisper is lightweight and balanced with 2X7 Center Point scope (option). So far I have run 200 RWS Superdome pellets through it...accuracy is about 2 1/4" groups at 25 yds (shot off shoulder resting weak hand on deck rail). I intend to shoot it off a good rifle rest to see what it is truely capable of. It is easy to cock and load,,,,the factory open sights were in tact out of the box,,no damage or loose parts...the open sights are good enough for closer range shooting but a scope is a must for any distance shooting. The single mount is holding the scope well and no factory screws are loose after 200 firings. I like the overall looks and everything seems to be made well except the factory trigger, which is cheap and a potential cause of poor accuracy. The silencer unit works well with the 14.3 grain Superdomes...birds and squirrels dont seem to be affected by noise...just movement when cocking. Overall it is an OK air rifle but it's no tack driver with the RWS SUPERDOMES. It has been my experience that not all rifles shoot the same nor does the same ammo shoot the same in all rifles. Its expensive but you might try the PYRAMYD buy 3 and get the 4th free deal selecting 4 diff types of pellets. Also install A GTRIII trigger and watch your group sizes shrink.
Things I would have changed:I have not tried the Gamo 3X9 scope provided in the combo but I did inspect it out of box and it seems to be ok...it stays in focus at 10 to 50 yards contrary to one reviewer that says his would not focus. The trigger pull weight is too much for any consistent accuracy so get a GRTIII from Charliedatuna.com and follow his website instructions to install it.....(pay close attention to loose factory spacers which can come out of place when removing barrel and receiver assembly from gun stock ...also flat washer under rear trigger mount screw) Its not a good thing to have parts left over after reassembly. Add a drop of blue thread sealer to three main stock -to- receiver screws so they dont get loose from shooting.
What others should know:This is not an Olympic Game tri-ethilon shooter but more of a fun gun for up close shooting out to 30 yards. Remember, you wont have a heavy rifle rest with you in the woods or when you need to get off a quick shot at a pesky dove over bait you just put out. Yeah,,, I know why you bought the Whisper,,,(they are xtra good with a garlic and creole dry rub,,wrapped in bacon and BarBQ'd over hickory or mesquite smoke). IN SEASON of course
