Things I liked:

This gun has been incredible in every way! I love the wood finish and the metal work is good too. The gun shoots great .I let my two nephews shoot it and they got groups that were consistent! Just as good as mine .We put a scope on it and zeroed it in in less than 6 six shots. I compare it to my German RWS and it is obviously a simpler trigger but otherwise is a very well made gun- for this price especially.

Things I would have changed:

If possible add a adapter for bulk .. no changes needed.

What others should know:

This gun is very good and is powerful, well made and good looking. I would like to get another Tech Force Gun with a better sight etc..

Things I liked:

This is a great gun for the money. Everything is either metal or wood; the only plastic piece is the safety lever. The finish of the hardwood stock is very nice, and the feel of this gun is very close to a real 22 rifle. Trigger pull is fine for general plinking. I think the open fiber optic sights are great and totally adjustable. Accuracy is very consistent, although I've only used one pellet type so far- Crosman 14.3 gr. pointed. I paid for the "10 for 10" check, and the velocity measurements are right in line with the advertised 550 fps. This is plenty of punch for me. It will drive a pellet through both sides of a steel can at 10 yards. I was very impressed with the initial quality of this gun. It was much higher than I expected. Well worth the money.

Things I would have changed:

Not much, except it is difficult to screw on the CO2 chamber cap. The threads are very fine and difficult to get started. It's easy to get it cross-threaded if you're not careful.

What others should know:

You can't remove the CO2 cap until the cartridges are completely depleted. I've read that there is a danger of a pellet getting stuck in the barrel if you let the pressure get too low, so the best course of action is to dry-fire the gun once your shots start to drop until the CO2 is expended. Then the cap can be removed easily. It seems like a waste of power, but it's probably a fact of life with many CO2 guns. The greatest advantage to this kind of air gun is its ease of use. I tried a break barrel gun prior to ordering this one, and it was exhausting to use after even a short time. It had considerably more power, but the effort required to cock that gun was considerable. The Tech Force TF78 cocks with a simple bolt action that requires very little effort. You can shoot all day long without fatigue. Pyramyd Air is a great company to deal with. They handled my exchange quickly with no hassles. Response time is very fast. I had my gun delivered within 48 hours of ordering!

    Things I liked:

I waited anxiously for about a week for this new rifle to show up at my door! I have to say it was well worth the wait. This is a beautiful gun right out of the box. I was like a kid on Christmas morning and I'm 58 YO! (I'll never grow up). I liked the finish of the wood stock. I really like the fiber optic sights. I loaded it up with the two co2 cartridges and stepped out the back door for my first shot. That first one was a little high but man was that trigger smooth yet crisp! It was very easy to lower that rear sight and for the rest of the afternoon there wasn't a tin can in the back yard capable of holding water! I was so caught up in the fun that I forgot to keep count of how many shots I could get off before running out of gas but it seemed like a lot. My nephew showed up about then and not wanting to be a big selfish kid, I let him fire off a few rounds also. He will probably be buying one of these babies for himself! All I can say is if you have been looking at this TF78 co2 rifle but can't make up your mind, I want to put your mind at ease. DON"T waste any more time! It is the best fun and gun you can get for the money. I found out by looking online that this gun has been around for quite awhile and has a devout following. Parts are readily available so your small investment will not be outdated soon. That's about all I can think of for now. Have fun and be safe!

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe the safety system, although it is fully functional it seems a little awkward to me but I will probably get use to it.

    What others should know:

I got my TF78 in .22 CAL because I wanted the knock down power. I haven't taken a squirrel with it yet but I'm sure it will be a capable weapon for this purpose.

    Things I liked:

Excellent value! I don’t believe you’ll find a better .22 caliber air rifle for this price, anywhere. I was so impressed after shooting it, I bought another one. Accurate with the open sights at 100ft and more powerful than I had expected. Fit and finish is incredible for this price. Treat it right and you’ll be shooting it for years to come.

    Things I would have changed:

Although improvements can always be made, the quality of this air rifle far exceeds the $90 asking price.

    What others should know:

At 6.6lbs this is a hefty CO2 air rifle but remember that this is the result of steel and hardwood construction. Excellent fiber optic sights. Excellent trigger action. The end cap on the CO2 tube does have a fine machine thread and you do need to use care so as not to cross thread it. Shoot responsibly, at 500+fps this is a dangerous weapon and definitely requires constant adult supervision.

    Things I liked:

Excellent fit to the stock, good bluing. The trrigger is awesome for this price. It is highly adjustable, very crisp breaking, zero creep, repeatable, predicable. The bolt action is nice after the break in period. Double 12 gram CO2 system gets 40 full power shots at 650FPS in .177. Good 11mm scope rail. The fiber optic inserts for the open sights are the only plastic on this entire rifle. Everything else is metal and wood.

    Things I would have changed:

Make the CO2 cap extended to provide better leverage when removing from the air tube. The cap CANNOT be removed while the air tube has any pressure. The O-ring locks the cap tight until the rifle is shot out of CO2 entirely. Shooting the gun down to the point where the pellet gets stuck in the barrel is a big problem. The pressure is inadequate to fire the pellet, but still too great to release the cap to allow insertion of fresh CO2. You get "stuck". Solution is to either force off the CO2 cap by mechanical means and release the old CO2 add new CO2 and fire out the pellet, or open the bolt push the pellet back into the action from the muzzle and dry fire out the rest of the CO2. The easier solution is to stop shooting pellets after you see the first one drop off target from the low pressure, and dry fire out the remainder of the CO2. The cap comes off easily when there is no pressure. Lesson learned.

    What others should know:

The TF78 is the same as the QB78, they both come out of the same plant in Asia. Any mods, add-ons, or upgrades for the QB78 can be used on the TF78. This adds many options for the tinkerer. Hammer debouncers to reduce wasted CO2 and transfer port upgrades, oversized bolts, 88 gram/Paintball adapters and muzzle brakes are just a few. I was considering getting a 2260SE before I found the TF78. I am so glad I didn't buy the Crosman this time. This Chinese clone of their venerable 160 model is half the price of the 2260SE with an excellent trigger right out of the box.

    Things I liked:

Incredible value. Very nice fit and finish. Bolt action is easy to operate; can be dry-fired. Receiver is held to the stock by a single thumbscrew, and can be easily removed after pushing out the safety lever. Once the receiver is removed, the trigger is adjustable for pull weight, over-travel, and sear release distance. There is a good video on the TF78's product page at compasseco.com (now part of Pyramid Air) that shows a strip-down of the rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Operation of the safety, located at the front end of the trigger guard, is a little stiff. Engaging the safety requires flipping the lever towards the trigger, and takes a good grip between the thumb and index finger. It' definitely not easy to flip with one finger while on-target. For target shooting in the back yard, I generally don't use the safety, but I'd be a little concerned about the possibility of an accidental discharge should my finger slip off the lever while trying to put it on 'safe'.

    What others should know:

This gun takes two CO2 powerlets back-to-back. I get about 70 shots out of the two, so it does expend a fair amount of gas. Installing and removing the cap for the CO2 powerlets is a bit of a chore, and would not be easy at all for a young shooter. At 10 yards off-hand, I get groups between the size of a nickel and a quarter; I can pretty consistently hold my IZH-46M pistol to within the size of a dime, so you should probably be looking at a more expensive rifle if pinpoint accuracy is a requirement. This gun is extremely fun and easy to shoot, though, and I can't imagine a better investment for the money.

The value of this air rifle is great, the rifle is well built and shoots a tight grouping.

    Things I would have changed:

The bolt is hard for my 10 year old to close sometimes. I realize this is not a youth size rifle, but is could close a bit smoother.

threads on end cap for C02 cylider are a bear to deal with....I would go with coarse thread instead of the very fine thread it has now....

    What others should know:

I bought mine from a place in Canada, since Pyramid cannot ship here(but I bought my Leapers 4x32 shorty scope from Pyramid)....This gun is absolutely mind blowing!! I swear this thing is hitting harder than its 'de tuned' Canadian rating of 499fps!! My scope was factory set at 100 yrds, but in still getting through the same hole(4-5 times)accuracy at 10 yrds..with no scope adjustment! I put a split in a penny at 30feet...my Remington air master(roughly same crap Canadian ratings..490fps)wouldn't do that! A lil rough around the edges, but Im glad I bought one....absolute joy to shoot, buy one its more than worth the small asking price.

    Things I would have changed:

nothing, well, maybe the adapter for bulk air, or a paintball tank... as they do now.

    What others should know:

Excellent woodwork, and metalwork. Forget about it being chinese, it is better than the Crossman... it is a 2 cylinder air source....
