Things I liked:

Hatsan's worksmanship is on par with my faithful Model 36 from RWS. The machining is first rate and the rifle shoots quite as it is advertised in .25 cal (averaging in the low 720s out of the carton); it resoundingly rings my steel plate Champion Bullet Trap. The Quattro Trigger came nicely adjusted right out of the box. The adjustable length of pull (by provided spacers) and the rubber shock absorbing pad are nice and functional approaches to the intensity of the recoil of this springer.

Things I would have changed:

While the rear fiber optic sight seems precise and well made, the funky guards (to protect the optic during cocking) on the sight are confusing to me with progressive lens eyewear. There are too many things "sticking up" in the sight picture out front! A modified "globe" front would be preferable to both protect the little fiber optic tube while cocking this massively powered springer AND provide a clearer sight picture. Hatsan is proceeding to bring its Vortex air spring into the USA. Hatsan current makes a number of these in different configurations to fit its models. There is an air spring for the 135, and I'd like the smoothness of the firing cycle by a pneumatic power plant.

What others should know:

This rifle is not for the timid or the weak of upper body strength. Of course, the weight/mass of the rifle buffers the recoil, but it is a load to hold up. It does also damp the nystagmus/shake of the POA just due to its inertia, and that's a good thing. This rifle is also not for the weak as this springer is my only break barrel that I cock using TWO hands and arms! One has to WANT to cock this rifle, or it won't get done. This is the "elephant gun" of air guns (at least among springers). If I am seeking to punch paper for an afternoon, I'll grab the RWS M-36, but if a marauding raccoon, rabbit, or other garden pest decides to call, I'll reach for the M-136! The buyer, in the case of this air arm, must know his or her shooting preference and goal. If one is shoot cheaply, look for smaller calibers. Rounds for this air rifle cost at least 3.4 cents apiece; .177 pellets are smaller, and therefore cheaper. However, if stopping pests is your goal, or hunting appropriate game, this is THE choice at a reasonable price (well below PCPs). Incidentally, this rifle came with a provided scope stop, three length-of-pull spacers, and an Allen-type wrench for the stop. Additionally, Hatsan provided a small Allen for adjustment of the trigger.

Things I liked:

It's very well made and it is a nice looking rifle. That's about it

Things I would have changed:

.25 caliber This gun has an abnormally long stock. I have no idea where the measurements came from. Quattro trigger is awful. Probably a 10 pound pull even after lots of adjustment. I did a quick polish and lube and it is somewhat acceptable, I guess. After 400 rounds that where all over the place(5" groups@ 10yds)I finally tore it apart to give it a quick lube tune. It was surely smoother shooting and easier to cock but had no better groups. I cleaned the barrel periodically and tried 4 different ammo types. All garbage. I see nothing wrong with any of the internals or barrel. I think this design is just a piece of crap. I understand it is a high powered spinger but this thing is deplorable for accuracy. I had big hopes for this thing and it turned out to be a bone. I have several high power springers and I have plenty of shooting expirience. I would get pissed thinking I was shooting bad and then grab the 100 dollar Optimus and drill perfect groups seconds later. Trust me after 700 shots, it's not my shooting

What others should know:

My experience with the .25 was fairly awful and this thing just sits in the gun case now. However I don't know if mine was just a pile of rubble or the design is bad. I do KNOW that the build quality was very nice though. I also don't know if other calibers shoot better. I guess I am just saying buy at your own risk. I would hate to have anyone else need to buy a second gun to do the job like I did and end up with an expensive display piece/loud noise maker.

Yes it's heavy, Yes it's hard to cock, Yes it's loud and has tremendous recoil, but I found patience, and learned how to handle this springer. It was worth the time invested to use the artillery and perfect it. A perfect tool for it is very hold sensitive. Finally i'm hitting quarter size free handed at 30yards. Took some 600 pellets and arm strength but i'm very happy now.

    Things I would have changed:

Don't bother with a scope, this is a teaching tool....

    What others should know:

Practice makes perfect, this is an accurate gun, it's all you......

    Things I liked:

The design and finish is very attractive. I love the power. I love the sound. Feels like shooting with a real gun. With open sights, I could get a fair accuracy at 12 yards (on a bench).

    Things I would have changed:

The rifle is heavy. Recoil is strong. Hence if held by hand when shooting affects accuracy. Normal artillery hold can not be applied here. Need to hold the rifle near the trigger (like when you shoot at targets). Extremely difficult to cock. Need both hands. Could not get satisfactory grouping at 12 yard shooting on a bench. The product manual should include fair amount of detail on maintenance.

    What others should know:

Recommend to buy. If you are a weak person, remember that this is a monster and require grate deal of arm strength. Wear your ear muffs if you shoot with light weight pellets (e.g 7.56 gr). Good for shooting on a bench with a rifle rest (due to weight and recoil)

    What others should know:

I feel like I need to review this air gun, (and I have never reviewed anything I have bought until now). I have been a long time fan of spring air guns for the fact that you don't need anything but the gun and some pellets. But this air rifle has gone far and beyond my expectations... With a Hawke 2-7 scope I am hitting a 14.5" plate at 166 Yds. 2 out of 3 shots depending on wind, went 5 for 5 in calm conditions. At 120 yds. it will punch holes in a steel oil drain pan. I was even able to make a hit at 200 yds, but its pushing the limits of the scope. I'm using Crossman hollow point pellets which are grouping 1" at 40 yds., I have tried only one other pellet so far (Crow Mags.) which didn't shoot as well. Over all the 135 has proven to be a great gun so far.

The look's was outstanding . I loved how heavy it is . It did have some wood shaving in the scope stop . Once I cleaned it out it was fixed .

    Things I would have changed:

The accuracy was was not there and I was shooting Crosman Premiers 7.9 , 10.5 heavy's and Gamo Rockets 9.6 grain .It was all over the place

    What others should know:

No matter what I did . I could not get the gun to shoot straight . and I,m a pellet on pellet shooter . plus I have bin shooting air gun since I could walk . I'm 40 now . Now it goes without saying that Pyramyd Air was AWESOME! They helped me out when they did not have to. They traded guns withe me for a Hatsan 125 sniper .22 cla. Things I liked:

This air rifle is of excellent quality and finish. The walnut stock is exquisitely finished, the bluing is quite nice, and all the little details are very well done. I couldn't get an acceptable eye relief until I removed the scope stop...which I did. I tried to install a Leapers droop compensator which would allow me to move the scope a couple of inches backwards...but It caused the rifle to shoot a foot low at 10 yards. So, I took it off, removed the scope stop, and immediately shot a 10 shot group of around .75" This gun is accurate! It also hits really hard. However, there's really not that much recoil...maybe it's the shock asorbing system that Hatsan has.

    Things I would have changed:

It's really heavy...which seeing that I'm mostly going to be shooting from a rest isn't that much of a problem...and it's really hard to cock. I've shot around 50 rounds through it, and it's already a lot smoother, and I think, a bit easier to cock. We'll see after 500 or so. I did read all the reviews, and had no reason to expect anything else.

    What others should know:

I first ordered a Hatsan 125 Vortex with a black stock. It arrived on schedule, but was doa. The Vortex piston was discharged. I called Pyramyd, and they agreed to replace it...no arguments. However, it took 3 weeks. First they said that they would replace the piston, then it was that they would simply send me a completely new gun...but, the first email I got said that the rifle was back ordered. I sent off a really nasty email, only to discover the next email in the queue said that the rifle had been shipped. I got it, cleaned it, and shot around a dozen rounds, and then it quick cocking. The piston had its full force, but at the end of the stroke, it wouldn't latch. I really wanted the rifle, but I decided to replace it with the 135, so I bought it, and then returned the original. I was disappointed that it took so long to get a good working rifle, but it seems as though I have one now, and in their defense, Pyramyd was right there with a working solution for me, each time.

    Things I liked:

Beautiful gun. Honestly, the stock is almost worth the money alone. It's fairly well balanced, which offsets the massive weight. Seriously, this thing weighs more than any of my powder burners. Over 10 lbs with a scope. I tried to take it out into the freezing weather earlier this week, and I came to the realization that airgunning in the winter is a miserable affair. I don't really like shooting in my basement, but I couldn't wait to play with my new toy, so I gave it a go. I'm still in the break in period, and I can manage groups I can cover with a quarter at 15 yards, offhand in my dim basement with the worst attempt at the artillery position ever done. I can live with that. Great power for a break barrel. It flies through a phonebook and deep into half inch pine with every pellet I've tried so far. The "kick" is certainly worse than my .177 storm XT, but manageable. Hatsan is notorious for bad Q/C, but I've noticed no defects in my rifle yet. The cocking is very smooth.

    Things I would have changed:

Like I said, HEAVY. WOW. This thing is almost impossible to shoot offhand for more than a few rounds without getting the shakes. For a gun clearly intended for hunting, this weight, combined with the lack of sling mounts could be an absolute pain. I bought it as a replacement for a my .22lr, .22 just doesn't exist where I live. The power of this rifle does not even begin to compare to a .22lr, and don't let anybody tell you it does. That said, I'm sure it will reach out to about 100 yards with acceptable accuracy on a still day. The spring was quite "twangy" when I started shooting, although it has quieted down a bit. If I could do it again, I would probably opt for the gas ram version.

    What others should know:

Near the barrel pivot, and on the buttpad, there was some yellow crusty stuff that seems to have stained the metal and rubber. Purely cosmetic, so I don't mind. DO NOT BUY THIS unless you have significant upper body strength! If you don't work out regularly, cocking this with one hand would be a chore. Owning something too hard to cock can make shooting a nightmare.

    Things I liked:

All I can say is WOW!! I received my Hatsan 135 .25 (January 2015) and this is one of the most accurate & most powerful air rifles I have ever own. I have used a few different pellets at 10 yards just to test shoot with them shooting cans and targets to see what was the most accurate pellet for this rifle. It is very accurate with JSB EXACT KING 25,39 gr AND BARACUDA 31,02 gr. I shot through 5 soup cans with the Baracuda's at 10 yards using the TruGlo Fiber Optic Sight which is really awesome. My other high power air rifles do not come close to this Hatsan 135 .25 not by a long shot. Now far as the recoil I have been hearing all about & watching in these videos for some reason I really didn't feel anything at all, to be honest. The cocking effort reminds me of the Hatsan Sniper 125 .22 but I can only assume that once I break it in the barrow will become more smooth to pull down.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Cocking effort, you must have some physical strength. But it will smooth out once your rifle is broken in.

    Things I would have changed:

    Can't think of anything......maybe a safety that's not automatic.

    What others should know:

Honestly, use the coupon code and this is a $200 gun. It's great for the money! You won't be disappointed! I had a webley patriot....I sold it to get this instead. I like this better than the Patriot and it's $150 less. The barrel could be a tad longer on this, would prob make it a little easier to cock. It's a workout. I wouldn't recommend if you are a wuss or a child.....other than that....great gun for the money!

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

Out of the box, the first thing you notice is the beautiful walnut stock. It cocks and shoots smoothly with a significant amount of recoil for a spring gun, but I bought it for a bench shooter so the recoil isn't a big issue for me. JSB 25.39 exact kings proved to have the best groupings at about 3/4" at 25yds. The scope mount made onto the rifle accepts 11mm and weaver/picatinny scope rings without the need for an adapter, a good plus! With a leapers 10X50 (etched glass reticle) mounted on it, It zero'd in within about 10 shots with plenty of vertical adjustment left in the scope. I would not recommend using a scope other than one with the etched glass reticle on this rifle as the recoil it produces would most likely destroy the scope's innards in less than 100 shots.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is very heavy and became more and more inconsistent. You'd get 2 or 3 shots with what felt like about 4lbs pull, then you might get a couple that felt more like 8 or 9lbs. This affects accuracy. I've heard that the piston seals can be brittle on these as well. This may or may not have been part of the problems mine developed.

    What others should know:

In fairness, this is a beautiful and powerful rifle for the money. But unfortunately, I started having problems with mine after a few hundred shots. The folks at Pyramid customer svc were excellent about it though, and immediately took care of getting the return and exchange taken care of painlessly. I had really wanted a Weirauch HW90, but the price on this was just too good not to try one first. I exchanged it for the HW90 but wouldn't be opposed to trying another Hatsan 135 in the future. With an aftermarket piston seal and a trigger job, this could be a really great rifle, and the price is very hard to beat for what you get.

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger is very hard to pull, even with it adjusted as light as it will go. The trigger also does a weird recoil when the gun diesels. It actually hurts!

    What others should know:

The accuracy of this gun is nonexistent.... I am ordering some 28 grain pellets. Maybe that will help. But asof now the gun will only hold twelve inch patterns at 15 yards. And trust me it is the gun.

I like the 786 fps with lead and the full size design. It is a real rifle powered by air not black powder. 30 + FPE. It Is hefty and takes effort cock, but one thing to cosider is not CO2, or no air tank or pump needed. Self- contained rifle. I used a 31.40 grain Black Max alloy pellet and shoot through a heavy duty oil drum. It was at close range, but never the less. Awesome .25 caliber air rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing at all, the specs are true except it shoots harder and faster then listed at Pyramid Air.

    What others should know:

It is hefty and solid. Wonderful full size rifle.

    Things I liked:

For $229 this is a beast of a rifle and a great value. Raw power, scope/sight base, wood, the butt plate spacers. Though 9+ pounds the balance is good and not to hard to shoulder. Over all a nice power house rifle for the money, just eat your Wheaties!

    Things I would have changed:

Stock finish, the wood is nice, perhaps great when I get around to refinishing it. The finish is a flat satin hunter friendly, I will likely put some true oil on it. Lcd/moderator or longer barrel, this this is a beast to cock, any addition leverage is welcome, I will ad a Moderator to lower report and easy the cocking effort. The fire cycle is smother than I expected, but I plan to make spring guides and buttons on the rear cylinder. Swivels?...it's not bad to hold and shoot, but to carry a sling would be nice.

    What others should know:

I'm a 6'2" 53 yo female, plenty strong, but this thing takes my all to cock. it is easily the hardest to load springer I've owned, I bought an hw-90 over 20 years ago and it is easy compared to load compared to the hatsan 135. The sight/scope base allows either weaver or 11mm bases or rings, a very cool innovation. Initially it seems accurate, but I'll need to really test it more. Word is out, piston seals may fail over time, not the best material, I may do a 2nd review when and if this is an issue.

It is a beautiful gun and very well made. Very solid. The stock itself is probably worth the price that you pay for this gun.

    Things I would have changed:

Tune it down for accuracy as that really was poor even at 25 yards. I shot over 700 rounds through this gun using the Crossman Premier HP pellets and I had a huge problem grouping my shots and I used a rifle stand using a 4-16x50 UTG scope. I tried to zero it in but as I zero it, the shot would end up still off and I would just go back and forth trying to zero the gun to target but never get there. Very frustrating. Another area is that they should lock-tite all the screws as they keep coming loose. There are two screws under the trigger and one is a wood screw which is already strippped.

    What others should know:

This is a beautiful air rifle but the accuracy is inconsistent. You can hit your target if you are hunting but it will be random around your point of aim.

Re-engineer the pivot bolt! Anybody else have theirs break? I broke 2. PA replaced my gun after the first one broke, then the replacement gun broke in the same fashion, so I returned it. After 50-75 shots, the bolt just shears in 2 pieces and falls out; happened the same way both times. Maybe there was a bad batch and I was unlucky enough to get 2 of them. I didn't ask for a 3rd gun because I don't trust the design anymore.

    What others should know:

It's potentially a great gun, but I couldn't keep from breaking it. Either I am to beasty for the Hatsan (doubtful) or it has a design issue.
