H&N Baracuda Power, .177 Reviews

These work very well with my break barrel spring piston HW-50. I use a pellet seating tool to fully engage the rifling on the pellet for any of the hard copper coated H&Ns in spring pistons; that gives you the best accuracy with these hard hitting copper coated pellets.

Any of the copper coated H&Ns are simply harder to deform from handling or bumpy transport, so they maintain their roundness at the skirt end better than plain lead, it’s noticeable.

These are the most accurate in my HW97K rifle. They have more penetrating power than the others I have tried so far' @ 25 yards they are going through a 3/4" cedar board. None of the other pellets did. They shoot the best @ 40 yards also. At 10 and 15 yards they were not the best but as soon as they got out there a ways they started to shine. I have seen this happen with my long range 30-06 Target rifle too. That rifle shooting 210gr. MK bullets is more accurate with heavy bullets the longer the range compared to 150 and 168 gr bullets. Like many people have said, every rifle is different no matter the powder source.

The price of course, but what can you do. The best buy I have seen is right here at PY Air.

If they are not shooting that great at closer ranges, give them a try at 25+ yards if you have the room.

Work well in my Beretta PX4 Storm and old Crosman Repeat Air 1008. Fit rotary magazines very well and no jams. I like that the copper coating minimizes contact with lead, but thats not really a huge problem anyway. Look nice and all seem very uniform with no visible seam. The Crosman version have a pretty visible seam. Accurate and penetrate well, hard hitting.

I bought 3 tins of pellets. 2 of these and the Crosman version. I added a fourth but none showed as a free tin. Maybe you have to buy 3 different tins to activate the fourth one for free. I didnt get a fourth.

High quality pellet by high quality brand.

I bought these to try at long distance (100 yards) with my magnum powered break barrel. I use the Barracuda Match 10.6's as my go to for this distance with great results! With these Power's I got horrible results even after 50 rounds. Now, the tin does state "for PCP's only". This may be the issue. Pyramid Air - I would reccomend that you put this in your product description.

It seems as if this pellet is meant for PCP's.

I have been shooting these through my gamo whisper fusion mach1 in .177. Using my Hawk AirMax scope I can stack pellets out to 50 yards! At 100 yards my groups are not good at all but my gun is a magnum piston gun so I probably just need more practice with it.

After shooting them a couple of times they are so so. I somehow ordered several tins of these so I will have to shoot them probably just for fun.

I found other pellets produced better accuracy with my Sig ASP20 and Diana RWS 350 N-Tec Mag. Such as the AA 10,3 and JSB Exact 10.34.

Very accurate and quiet for .177 , can go through cover to cover of a 300+ page hardcover book with great expansion on the pellet. Should be good for hunting and seems to have very low lead content as pellets are fully jacketed.

Slightly more accurate than the H&N Baracuda Hunter 10.49 gr. I normally use. Both pellets group within a 1/2 inch at 15 yds. when shooting at a 3 inch target. The Baracuda Power 10.65 gr is more centered on target than the Hunter which hits a bit higher. Either will remain within a 3 inch circular target if you can live with that.

Shot from a gas piston - 18 ft. lb. break barrel utiliziling a Weaver 4x38 fixed scope.

Everything about these pellets are great! The size and weight and shape are all spot on. My Umarex Gauntlet loves them and they fly so straight.

From first shot until my gauge was at 1000 psi they flew perfect. No complaints or reason for any changes. Would definitely recommend these to anyone shooting air guns.

The main reason i bought these was for my Benjamin Trail NP XL1500. I liked the Gamo copper pellets, but wanted a heavier pellet for this gun to slow it down some. These were perfect. They are very accurate, a lot more accurate than the lighter Gamo's, and have great penetration. They shoot well out of my Gamo Raptor as well, and my Trail NP pistol.

I love how they shoot out of my Benjamin Trail XL they hit the mark.I even took a tree rat at 100yrds. I also shoot them out of my modded 1377 and have bagged many a tree rat as well as 3 rabbits.I have shot them out of my other two Breakbarrels and they work grate.

Not much they are a real good for what I do.

Every gun is diffrent so ya need to find a pellet that it likes to shoot. but for me this is a fav.

Everything i've used from h&n is always top shelf 1/2 groups @ 30yrds from my nitro venom and titan

the most consistently accurate pellet for my .177 Marauder. PA packages the pellets so well for shipment they could never be damaged.

shape and copper coating

the hardness of the jacket: because it doesent squish down and deform it doesent give the desired energy deliverance for small game hunting, gotta hit a vital or part of the bone structure or squirrels run off and bleed out

this may work great in your particular air rifle, but through my gamo hornet these were out preformed by the FTT and JSB monster. also the crow magnum, baracuda hunter,hunter extreme, ftt and JSB moster all penetrated a thick tin plate while these simply left a hefty dent and bounced off.
