    Things I liked:

Surprisingly accurate and powerful for a break-barrel air rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

    Considering the price .. nothing

    What others should know:

I did perform a simple trigger modification using a ball bearing. Well described on YouTube.

    Things I liked:

As I wanted spring, and not gas, piston. Durable. "Accurate" once the sights are sorted out Weight.

    Things I would have changed:

Much better "iron sights". The fiber optic sights that are installed are wayyy off on proper mounting. Almost past the point of correction. Hence 4-stars. Don't waste money on a scope. Longer barrel. Sling mounts.

    What others should know:

Rifle has good weight. But not light. Cocking force is usual for this power, but some may find it difficult. I have a similar rifle in .177 that is about 30-years old and still works well. Hopefully this one will be the same.

    Things I liked:

I wanted a springer twin to my recently purchased Vantage nitro that I fell in love with. And I got it. Simple, streamlined looks and excellent shootability with power and accuracy. At a heckuva good price.

    Things I would have changed:

I shoot open sights and cannot see why Crosman doesn't just improve these and forget packaging the cheap scopes. Use real sights that don't look like they came from my granddaughter's Lite Brite set. They aren't even compatible with a peep

    What others should know:

I put 400 rounds thru this gun before it even saw paper. Just keeps getting better. And like the Vantage, it likes heavy pellets, and so do I for taking game. I was prepared to give it a tune in a tube, but it shooting so smooth it simply does not need it

    Things I liked:

looks very good, economical, its powerful enough (.22 packs quite a punch), its accurate enough for pest control, easy to main, readily available parts, iron sight is great for 10-15 yards and scope from 20-30 yards.

    Things I would have changed:

The Trigger is functional, but it takes time to get used to it, it has a very long first and second stage, first stage can be fix with the online "Bearing" fix, but it still that 2nd stage feels long and hard to predict. The trigger is the main factor that affect the accuracy of this rifle. It took me a while to get the "muscle memory" for how long to pull before it shoots.

    What others should know:

It does everything I need, am extremely satisfied with its performance. I did the initial break-in with the Crosman ultra magnum pellets used around 250, it wasn't very accurate, but it improved over time. After couple hundred rounds i was getting decent groups at 15 yards with iron sights. After 300 shots i did the first maintenance, cleaned the barrel with balistol, apply 1 drop of crosman chamber oil, and apply "tune in a tube" on the spring. It helped a lot to smooth things out, i even saw an improvement on accuracy. After the rifle felt stable and consistent, i changed to H&N FTT and saw a considerable improvement on accuracy, at this point i install the scope and zero it in at 20 to 30 yards and was able to make groups inside a 2-inch diameter target. I try the H&N Terminator pellets and i got even tighter groups at 20-30 yards, they became my standard pest control pellets. Now i use the H&N FTT for plinking and the H&N Terminator for pest control. Kills Pigeons, iguanas. rats

    What others should know:

As a life long air gunner I can very honestly say the Crosman Optimus I bought in .22 cal is probably the very best bargain break barrel air rifle you will ever find so get one and enjoy.Been looking at this rifle for some time now and I am very happy I finally bought one for myself...very satisfied.

    Things I would have changed:

    scope could be better

    What others should know:

At first I couldnt hit anything. After dumping 500 pelllets through it my accuracy improved. Dropping squirrels out of trees @ 100 yards. Bagged at least 20 of the varmints in my back yard

    Things I liked:

Price, but then you get what you pay for!!!! Looks, well made....

    Things I would have changed:

Consistent shooting pattern. Shots good in a 12" diameter circle. Scope replace or do without and take the savings off the gun price otherwise increase price and include a good scope.

    What others should know:

It's a good cheap gun that has a lot of power. Like I said earlier you get what you pay for. It's a Hundred dollar gun not a Five Hundred dollar gun, so with that said as long as you know what you are buying it's a good deal!! If you are shooting yard varmints they are done if you hit them!!! Would I buy this gun again? Yes, I think I would for the price and what I'm shooting, but if you want high end accuracy then buy a more expensive gun!

    Things I liked:

Great value for the money, but just know you are in the economy sporter class; everything is functional and adequate, it is an air gun that shoots and has potential to hit its mark, wood stock is nice, does seem fairly well made; it will function as designed; but just that; as designed. Accuracy was adequate but repeatably is an issue.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is awful and apparently this is common across other Crosman platforms but is one of this systems death knells; the skill required to get shots on target is NOT user friendly; and you will not be getting on varmints on pop up shots with this thing. I cant imagine giving this to a novice shooter for fear of ruining their confidence; the trigger is just too long and creepy and lends itself to easy jerking and affected by the vibration of the system; really wish Crosman would come up with a better design; I don't recommend going online to DIY your rifle and void a warranty; I really wish this was addressed before or Crosman gives you the option from the factory for an enhanced trigger pack. Scope is functional; but you will need perfect eye relief and very small eye box but it does work; not bad for the price point though as to be expected. Honestly though; would be willing to pay more if these deficiencies were addressed; somewhat of a let down.

    What others should know:

Make sure you loctite and snug up your threads; the rings and mount system are functional but this will help alleviate accuracy issues if not snugged up; you will be chasing yourself trying to zero because your point of aim will be moving. To be clear, this isnt a bash review or to discourage buyers; the gun works and reliability is often above all else; so as long as you are prepared for the shortcomings so you arent disappointed ; dont hesitate to look at higher cost options as they may address the Optimus deficiencies; Pyramyd Air; fantastic service, love all the videos, FAQs and articles, fantastic customer experience!

This is a very nice rifle in 177. Lots of power and not too loud either. Shipping was fast ( two days) and seamless purchase. Thank you Pyramid Air :)

    Things I would have changed:

    What others should know:

It's just a very nice rifle and has the power to take care of squirrels, rabbits and maybe crows if I need to. Acceptable accuracy as well

Helluva nice rifle. Harvested a tree rat (squirrel) right out of the box. Hit hard, quick kill. Low noise great for suburban environments. Easy to cock and load, especially with the pellet pens that I bought with the rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

    Not a damned thing!

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger pull is really long and creepy

    What others should know:

Great value for the price. Breaks in quickly. Plenty of power to dispatch crows and such. Shooting a 1/2" group at 20 yds with H&N Field Target Trophy 5.55mm pellets and a Hawke 2-7x scope. Trigger has a really long pull, but once you get used to it, it works OK... I just hope I don't ever get so used to it that I forget and pull the trigger on one of my other rifles that way !

I like the iron sights, they are pretty accurate. I like the adjustable 2 stage trigger. Very powerful for the price.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope is basically useless. After several attempts to adjust it I can get 2 or 3 somewhat accurate shots then the pattern is all over the place. Re-adjusting just does the same thing. I gave up on it.

    What others should know:

Throw away the sight and you'll have a nice pellet rifle.

    Things I liked:

Weight - a little over 6 lbs Moderate cocking effort Very good power - over 17ft-lbs Good workmanship on the trigger parts

    Things I would have changed:

Crappy rear sight Poor QC on the barrel

    What others should know:

Eh... so close... the powerplant on this one is quite good... averaging over 740fps with Crosman Premier HP's. Accuracy, though, even at 10 meters was - bleh. Pushed a pellet down the barrel and could feel a number of rough spots and a nasty bur near the muzzle. Cleaning it, touching it up with a needle file and recrowning did not help. Gave up and ordered a replacement barrel from Crosman (about $20!). Another doggone bur at the muzzle! But this time touching up the crown removed it, and the rest of the bore was a lot smoother. Accuracy is finally adequate. So in the end I have a rifle I am happy with. The Crosman Quest platform is a very likeable one, just like the old Gamo series it is based on. And Crosman has gotten the manufacturer to improve many things over the old Xisico B18 and B19 days. And even though I'm still pleased even after having to buy another barrel... please, Crosman, better barrel QC. It'd be worth the few extra bucks...

    Things I liked:

I received my optimus today and recommend pyramid's 10 for 10 check. velocities were accurate and sights on out of the box. I shot 30 rounds and found it to be accurate @ 20 yds offhand. groups were 2" with open sights. it had a fairly easy cocking effort and is light enough to handle well with the right amount of heft and balance. this rifle is a great buy for informal targets and the range to be a good squirrel and rabbit gun. besides, it is just fun to shoot.

    Things I would have changed:
