H&N Field Target, .20 Reviews

I've been using this in my .20 cal Beeman R1, largerly because I can no longer get the 11.8 grain FTS. But this baby is just as accurate, and the breech fit is comfortably snug. I do miss the old 500 pellet tin, however, but a pair of 250's will do. Yes, I know that .20 cal. is now "old hat", but I really love it. I have a couple of other nicely tuned spring rifles (Beeman R11 and ancient R8) in .17 cal., and I love these guns too. But when I have to take out a small varmint, I usually use the .20--it really whacks 'em. It's really a wonderful caliber; I much prefer it to the larger .22. No matter that only a few pellet choices are available: all I need is one that shoots with precision. And this one is it.

I'm a long retired competitive shooter (.22 rf in High School and College/ROTC rifle team), then U.S. Army National Match team (Natl. Champs 1964)--M14 service rifle and 30-338 bolt gun (1000 yard). I got into air guns when traveling with the army pistol team. All those guys had air pistols and they practiced with them regularly.

The .20 pellet is difficult to find. Thank you for carrying these quality pellets

I shot these pellets from two mid seventies Sheridan Blue Streaks, one with scope and one with iron sites. I shot 10 rounds in each target at 10 meters. I am in my late 70s and my eyes are not what they used to be. That being said all 10 rounds with the iron site rifle were within 1 inch of each other. With the scoped rifle most were within 1/2 inch with a few at 3/4 inch. All the pellets that I shot seemed to be very uniform in size as when I pushed the bolt forward to chamber them there was a nice resistance as the skirt compressed in the chamber. I would highly recommend these pellets. I am very thankful that they are making 20 caliber pellets available and the screw on lid is a nice feature that threads off and on very easily unlike some other pellets that I use.

Sell in a 500 count tin

This may seem like a trivial thing but in reality it is huge. Pyramyd does the absolute best job in the world packing these pellets to ensure damage free delivery. Believe me, I have had a boat load of damaged shipments from other companies that don't give a hoot what happens in shipping. I realize that the Post office, UPS and FedEx have a sworn duty to drop, kick and mutilate every item they deliver no matter what day it is! Pyramyd Air goes the extra ten miles to stop the abuse. JSB .20 cal pellets are amazingly accurate in my 1968 Sheridan Blue Streak. I've owned this gun since new and can not believe it's even more accurate than Benjamin pellets

At 10 meter informal target shooting with 3 pumps in my 64 Sheridan C my results were exactly as Mr. Pelletier Sheridan C accuracy report.

These by far shoot the best in my Sheridan Blue Streak. Better than the heavy JSB Exact and better than the Benjamin or Sheridan cylindrical pellets.

Only thing better would be if they were cheaper !

These shoot great out of my Beeman P1. Top energy and accuracy. Only 1 deformed skirt out of 500 pellets.

20 cal are made different ,the new tin will not shoot well in my beeman r7 riffle.

Decent quality

I tried several pellets in my .20 R-10 and these produced the 2nd best groups. I found these to be slightly undersized compared to the other pellets as it dropped fully into the breech without having to press it in at all.

Pyramyd always ships promptly and more importantly uses great packaging.

Everytime I order pellets from other sources they arrive damaged. Pyramyd puts foam around the tins.

The head size is .005 to small , these will not shoot in my Weihrauch 97k. Very inaccurate !

Bought these to use in my 'Dans because I read some reviews on the GTA about how this lighter pellet had a little bit of a flatter trajectory. Indeed it does!

Very repeatedly accurate in my custom Backpacker 1320 with LW barrel. Pellets look good with no misshapen oddballs.

I compared the accuracy of the Field Target Trophy versus JSB .20 cal. in my old Beeman R-10 rifle. Both were VERY accurate but the JSP had a slight edge over the FTT pellet. I would gladly shoot either one any day of the week.

FTT lid is a joy to use (screw on). JSB not so much.

Both pellets fit snuggly in rifle chamber.
