Ease of installation, I have been a spring man for 45 years and have repaired tuned spring guns with their itricasies and magic potions. This repair was a snap.

I have little knowledge about gas rams, no coment.

Always use a spring Compressor, Stay safe.

The nitro piston is reasonably price. With online videos, replacement was fairly easy with the use of a self-made jig. Once replaced, definitely a difference in power.

I recommend purchasing the right lubricant prior to replacing the the piston. Molly paste lubricant seams to work well.

I am using this piston to convert a springer to a smoother Nitro Piston action and it should reduce the forward and backwards recoil that springers are known for. It was a fairly straight forward change over and I only needed a file to remove a small amount of metal to make everything fit easily. All the other tools I used were what you have to have to take apart a springer.

There was no need to modify the Piston as it fit into the housing with no changes, I just had to file the plug that holds the Piston in position in the chamber.

Not a problem to exchange the Piston for a spring, if you are comfortable taking apart your springer.

Everything. You don't realize how worn out a nito piston is until you replace it. Benjamin shoots had and fast once again.

Have it NOT made in china. Any other country in the world, just not china.

Get a real spring compressor, not a cheap little unit. The venteri thing can't compress this.

Installed this on an original Benjamin nitro piston synthetic stock air rifle along with a new seal. Used super lube 100% silicone lube for the seal. Great improvement over the stock gas spring. I baked on a Teflon/moly epoxy coat on the piston that the seal is installed on. This coating is self lubricating due to the Teflon moly. Super lube worked well with the seal, although it is thick like honey (doesn't take much). Rifle absolutely loves the H & N copper spitzkugel very accurate out to 50 yards if the wind isn't blowing. Overall very satisfied with pyramid air. Had only 1 complaint.

If you buy the cr piston for the plain Benjamin nitro trail. The piston rod is larger than the original and will not fit in the machined recess for the piston. (Original was machined to a smaller diameter to mate in the piston recess). My solution was to grind down the 1st 3/8" to more of a point to fit in the machined recess. My piston rod fits tight in the recess and I haven't had any problems. One thing I did to accurize my Benjamin was to recrown the barrel with a brass screw and automotive valve grinding compound. Made big difference in accuracy, factory crown wasn't done well.

Easy to change and seems better than the original. Will be interesting to see how long it last (the factory one did not last very well). Price is a little steep.

I bought this gas piston to put in my Hatsan 95 springer. Very easy conversion. Quite powerful and not to hard to cock. My crono is broke so I don't have speed test but it shoots flatter than my other Vortex 95.

Well i bought these parts a littke premature the Gun is dhoiting 755 Fps i thought gun lost its zip my Bad. The scope had move. Illd say this the oarts came fast and at a great po rice. Thank you pyramid air

Another Grest thing about Pyramid Air they even have the Gun Diagrams four the do it. Your self. With all the precautions for safety.

Seems like an OEM drop in replacement. YouTube video was a great help. Shoots like a dream. My Titan had been down for about two years, part is expensive, seems to shoot faster than the original. Whacked a Crow at about 75 yards, second shot after sight in. Lights out.

A little more explanation on disconnecting and re-connecting the Trigger group would have been helpful.

This Part costs almost half the price of a complete Titan, choose carefully.

Say what ya will about crosman, at least it's not an exercise in attrition to get a part for one. Simple to work on, too. Just a bar clamp and some common hand tools and the piston had my Shockwave back to specs in minutes. Hope this one lasts longer than the last gas ram tho... I mean, for longevity of the gas spring being one of the primary advantages crosman touts, I gotta say, not in my experience so far. In fact, about half the life of the comparably priced coil springers I own. I'll cut them some slack tho, I doubt they expected someone to shoot the thing as much as I have.

I'd drop the price a tad. Half the price of the rifle is a bit ridiculous. Ya know, I'd bet the farm it cost less than ten to produce. I was actually tempted to forego the gas ram purchase and buy a crosman optimus for the extra parts and the bonus wooden stock.

I'm not planning on ever pulling the trigger on an open breech so I ditched the anti bear trap linkage and spring. It makes breakdown and reassembly a breeze. Maybe I'll mail the linkage back to crosman so they can use the steel for some field worthy open sights. I joke, I love the crosman rifle, but seriously, I'd give their plastic rear sight about two hours on a canoe trip. Shame too, it's such a simple, powerful, accurate and robust camp rifle otherwise.

I 'm very happy because after change my spring rifle to a Nitro Pistol, Now I have my Crosman Optimus Nitro Piston, 950 fps. It was easy to do the change.
