Things I liked:

The Heckler & Koch P30 is another fine replica by Umarex that very closely resembles the actual firearm with the exception being the manual safety. Umarex is to be commended for its attention to detail in the manufacture of this pellet pistol. In addition to looking good, the gun works very well with very good accuracy. As I've done with several other pellet pistols, I shot a variety of brands and types of pellets. After a small adjustment to the rear sight, all of the shots were on target with a spread of 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches shooting single action. The gun also shoots well in double action, but the heavier double action does take some getting used to. With both Crosman and Umarex Walther CO2, I got 88 good power shots plus another 8 slightly weaker shots per CO2 charge.

Things I would have changed:

I would put white dots on the front and rear sights. When I was shooting a black Shoot-n-C target, my accuracy suffered because I had trouble focusing on the front sight. After changing the target to an orange shot spot on light colored paper, both my focus and accuracy improved tremendously.

What others should know:

My accuracy shooting tests were done in single action mode, in a free-standing position, using a two-handed grip, at a distance to target of about 15 feet in my basement range. The pellets used were Crosman Premier Super Match wadcutter, Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum domed, Crosman Premier Super Point, RWS Meisterkugeln Rifle, RWS Meisterkugeln Pistol, RWS Superdome, RWS Superpoint, JSB Match Diabolo Light Weight, JSB Exact Diabolo domed, H&N Match Pistol, H&N Sport, H&N Spitzkugel, and H&N Field Target Trophy. All of these pellets shot well without any jams. Although Umarex generally says to not use pointed pellets, I've found that the Crosman Premier Super Point, RWS Superpoint, and H&N Spitzkugel pointed pellets fit well in the rotary magazine and shoot well. This gun does shoot stainless steel BBs, but I have not and will not use it to shoot BBs so as not to damage the rifled barrel. Overall the H&K P30 is an excellent gun for target shooting or plinking with pellets, and I highly recommend it.

Things I liked:

the look, feel, and weight.

Things I would have changed:

pretty much everything else, as follows: Sep 22, 16:12 EDT I recently purchased an H&K P30 which, after 535 rounds (divided as follows:) 200 rds. RWS Hobby/Sport Line 7.0 gr. pellet; 200 rds. Crosman Premier Wadcutter 7.4 gr.; 75 rds. Daisy Match Grade Precision Ground Shot; 60 rds. Copperhead Copper coated Premium bb's.) the H&K began to exhibit serious difficulties with bb's jamming in the magazine, causing the magazine to be extremely difficult to release from the mag-well forcing me to repeatedly clear the mag and reinsert it. Also, when switching from bb to pellet, (and yes, i locked and unlocked the mag between switches between bb and pellet ammo, and i was sure to insert and remove the BB spacer each time. I ran through 3/1-2 to 4 CO2 cartridges in the process (wasn't carefully tracking CO2 use). Now the pistol jams every single time, the mag is extremely difficult to release, and will not fire with any ammo, either bb or pellet. Also, the trigger pull was excessively heavy.

What others should know:

I can provide a cellphone number if necessary and would love to speak with you directly if is it helpful. My shipment arrived without a lock screw for the built-in sight. since I had ordered a laser sight along with it, it seemed like no big deal at first.. now that I have been disappointed by the overall performance related to the use of bb's or pellets in this gun, it seems like poor manufacturing and process controls and overall lack of quality in this particular instance. maybe I just got a Friday of a Monday gun, but it was a real disappointment overall.

    Things I liked:

The H&K P30 is a well made pistol that feels good in your hand and exhibits good accuracy. The trigger is crisp and overall the pistol performs very well and consistent.

    Things I would have changed:

I would not sell a quality pellet pistol for $210, with a rifled barrel, and tell customers that they can shoot steel BBs through the rifled barrel. Who would do this? I mean I have a Tanfoglio Gold BB pistol that exhibits a spread of 0.775 inches (3/4") at 8 yards (with pistol rest). The Tanfoglio Gold sells for $80. A BB pistol, with a smooth barrel, is a BB pistol. And a pellet pistol, with a rifled barrel, is a pellet pistol. I have a Walther CP99. I really like the versatility and the possibility of having multiple CO2 cartridge magazines. I have not found any additional CO2 cartridge magazines being offered for the H&K P 30. What Umarex should have done was to ditch the combination BB and CO2 magazine for the same CO2 magazine that is used in the CP99.

    What others should know:

I bought this pistol as an alternate to my Walther CP99. In my indoor range I will use a standing unsupported double handed grip for a distance of 15 feet, but for longer distances I like to use a pistol support. I always fire the CP99 in double action mode (long stroke, but clean break). This is because, in single action mode, there is no visible hammer to pull back, and I have to remove the pistol from the rest to pull the slide back before taking my next shot. With the H&K P30 single action is convenient as I can pull the hammer back with my left thumb without ever removing the pistol from the rest. The trigger on the P30 easily breaks clean during a smooth unencumbered stroke. However, it is impossible to maintain accuracy while attempting to fire the P30 in double action mode. After a stiff pull the break does not come until the very end of the stroke and it is not a smooth break. The CP99 is a more accurate than the P30. At 8yd CP99 = 0.651" spread versus P30 = 0.732" spread

    Things I liked:

As close as one can get to the real firearm P30. Heft, feel and quality is right there. An excellent training aid and a must have for replica collectors. The fact that the air pistol comes in a padded hard case is a real bonus.

    Things I would have changed:

Some form of tri-dot or colored sights would be nice. I would do away with the dual ability to shoot BBs or pellets. I prefer pellets as a rule.

    What others should know:

For general plinking BBs are fine but if one ever wants to be serious about accuracy stick with the pellets.

    Things I liked:

Another great gun by Umarex! Nice weight. The ejecting CO2 cylinder is a nice touch and adds to realism, although I'm a big fan of fewer moving parts for durability but time will tell. Very comfortable grip and weight and I can see this quickly becoming one of my favourite action guns. My laser site is on order!

    Things I would have changed:

As I mentioned while the ejecting CO2 cylinder port is nice and adds to realism, I do like the other Umarex fixed CO2 ports because I know the air valve is fixed and less chance for damage or wear. Only time will tell if this becomes a problem. While the flexibility of pellet and bb is also a nice option, I'm only a pellet shooter.

    What others should know:

Can't go wrong with high end Umarex guns or Pyramid! Here's hoping Umarex brings out a high end Glock pellet!!

    Things I liked:

Very realistic weight and feel. Even has a de-cocking button like my firearm. Very accurate in single action. I can practice with this gun and easily transition to my P30 SK.

    Things I would have changed:

White dot sights would be nice. I painted the front sight silver and that works well for me.

    What others should know:

I would never shoot BBs in a gun with a rifled barrel. The steel BBs will eventually wear down the rifling and accuracy will suffer.

    Things I liked:

Very realistic replica, good weight, feels good in the hands, no stupid white lettered warnings on the slide, love the fact that the CO2 cartridge is stored in the handle and is ejected by the magazine release, very nice trigger in single action mode, just love this gun.

    Things I would have changed:

Shooting this gun in double action mode is mission impossible, rediculously heavy trigger, does not release the hammer til the very end of the travel, which is actually fine since I planned to shoot in single action only anyway, as if it were a revolve which it actually is by function. Also, the sights have no distinguishing marks, just black bars, very hard to see, I plan to paint the front sight orange like my S&W 686.

    What others should know:

I am a gun owner and enthusiast, and was looking for a realistic shooting experience in my back yard, this gun fits the bill. My aim is very good with this gun (I am still a novice) and has helped me a great deal to develop my shooting accuracy. I have become a much better shooter at the range since practicing with this gun. I recently bought one of the cheaper models of pellet pistols, and was sadly disappointed with it compared to this gun, which sets a high bar on what a pellet pistol can be. Well worth the money. I like it so much that I consider it among the jewels in my gun collection. I shot Crosman Super Match pellets with this gun, zero problems with all 500 rounds, just tried Crosman Ultra Magnum pellets, and one out of every 3 or 4 shots failed to fire, got stuck in the magazine, no fault of the gun.

The H&K has a good weight and feel. It is easy to load both CO2 cartridges and pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

The plastic insert for shooting BB's should have been a more precise metal one. The breach could not close with the plastic insert.

    What others should know:

The gun is not consistent in holding any groupings even at 20 feet. The sights should have had white dots on the front blade and the rear sights. It is difficult to see when shooting at black targets. P.A. is very good on their product and I had replaced it with another model.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

There are a lot of thing to like about this pistol. First it is very realistic and a very close approximation to the actual firearm with some accommodations to being an air gun (e.g. non-authentic safety). The accuracy is pretty amazing. I have 2 other Umarex pellet pistols, the 92FS and CP88, and this one is the most accurate of the 3. This may be attributed to the P30 fitting my hand the best. The Walther fits 2nd best and the Beretta is 3rd. That is also the order of accuracy...at least for me.

    Things I would have changed:

Not much. I think the ability for the pistol to shoot BB's is completely unnecessary as BB's will wear down the rifling which makes it very accurate as a pellet gun. I would like to see some sort of dots on the sights as they are simply black making them a little difficult to see sometimes. Adjustable grip plates like the real firearm would be really cool, but would certainly increase the cost.

    What others should know:

Pyramyd Air is great to deal with and their shipping times are fantastic! Be careful...these pistols are not toys.

Grip, balance, weight and ease of loading the pellet clip are well thought out.

    Things I would have changed:

Improve both the single and double action tirgger pulls. The double action is especially long and difficult to use. Both are lacking in a crisp let off. The single action is tolerable but needs improvement. Sights adjustable for elevation would be nice. The windage adjustment works just fine.

    What others should know:

This pistol is very enjoyable to shoot and is suprisingly accurate, at lease when shot single action. Double action shooting produces a much larger pellet spread. Recommend purchasing addition al pellet clips. I purchased six extra and have found having them a great advantage so you are not loading all the time.

    Things I liked:

This pistol is beautifully made -- great attention to detail, comes in at 1.7lbs but terrifically well-balanced, and while other air pistols are higher rated, its fps of 395 is powerful. Overall, an excellently crafted pistol with many nice features and well worth the price. I also cannot say enough about the service provided by Pyramydair -- the items purchased came securely packaged and delivered within days of ordering.

    Things I would have changed:

The safety is a push button and makes one a little nervous about its ease of on/off.

    What others should know:

While the HK P30 is described as shooting both BBs and pellets, the manual does state that "Frequent shooting with BBs wears down the grooves and lands in the barrel. This reduces accuracy when shooting with pellets (p.10)."

    What others should know:

Make sure you use the bb adapter before you shoot any bb's with this gun.I tryed to shoot a round of bb's but I think there may be a problem with the adapter that come with the pistol,my bb's where all over the target.Sooo Im only going to shoot pellet's with this gun,it also seems to shoot a little high but I have adjusted to that. Other than that the pistol is of good quality and I realy like it,another great pistol from Umarex.

    Things I would have changed:

I dont think I would change anything,GREAT gun as is.

    What others should know:

You can get 90-100 shots per 12g co2,but when done shooting it,it seems to still have a lot of gas left.I tryed to shoot bb's with the adapter that was included with the gun,but I dont think it fits right. My bb's where all over the target sooo, I decided to shoot only pellets with this gun.The rear sight was off a little but was easy to adjust with a hex key. Other than that is is a well built gun and realy fun to shoot. I put a UTG tactical flashlight on the accessory rail and this thing lights up my target realy well.I realy love it, this light will mount on just about any pistol with weaver rail.

    Things I would have changed:

Don't like the safety. Trigger pull is high, and not smooth. The real one has interchangeable grips, but that would be asking too much.

    What others should know:

I've got a real P30 in 9 mm, saving up to buy one in .40 caliber. This gun is almost as much fun because you can shoot it at home. I can get about 40 decent shots per CO2 cartridge using lead pellets. I tried aluminum pellets and get about 60 decent shots per cartridge. After that, it just lobs them like slow-pitch softballs. I'm surprised at the accuracy, very good! I really got a kick out of the HK carrying case and HK instruction manual. I even took it to my gun dealer and they thought it was pretty cool! Someday, I'll have to take it to the gun range and see how much attention it gets...

The look, the feel, and weight of the gun. Very accurate with both pellet and BBs shooting. Easy to use features such as loading, safety, and DA/SA.

    Things I would have changed:

Kind of hard to close the slide with the BB adaptor in place, perhaps it needed to be resize a tad. The follower for BB was stuck to the bottom after firing a few times and I had BBs falling out from the loading hole, and eventually jammed things up. Not sure why that happened. And why isn't Umarex selling the CO2/BB cartridge as parts? Perhaps they will in the future.

    What others should know:

Don't know why my first review wasn't posted (did it 3 weeks ago). This is my 2nd and follow-up review after thoroughly playing with this gun. As stated above, problem with shooting BBs, but love the pellet shootings.
