Power was consistent along with a satisfying break in the barrel that put a smile on my face. The weight is perfectly balance.

Its an HW, what can you say beyond its extremely well made quality of rifle that feels like a firearm more than an air rifle. Accuracy so far is great if you use proper techniques. This is not a rifle in my limited experience that responds well to half hearted shooting. You have to really commit and follow thru and then it works great. 25 cal or quarter bore is huge. The pellets are massive relative to a 177 and its very easy to load. It hits HARD. I was shattering rocks I normally would roll with my 177's.

I wish I could have gotten another 100 FPS out of mine. I am at the 550 FPS with production pellets. Not much different then my match rifles but certainly not near the speed I would have liked. I knew that going in but it still would have been nice to get a bit more. Quarter bore out of a springer is going to be slow. Too much of a good thing basically.

I am starting to realize that the gauge and pump are probably a must have to really nurse the best accuracy out of the rifle. I was thinking flat out all the time because I bought a quarter bore but even in the big and heavies there is room to play with it. Quarter bore is fun, I don't regret it because that is what I bought it for. 22 probably would have been a better all around choice though.

Honestly the most I like about this rifle is its appearance. Well built and very sturdy. Fit, finish and workmanship are excellent.

My HW90 is in .22 cal. In my humble opinion it is not powerful enough for the amount of cocking effort. My personal rifle is around the 20 fpe mark which combined with the very heavy cocking effort doesn't make sense. My Diana 350 .22 beats it every which way...more power (24 fpe), more accurate, and a good bit less cocking effort.

I'm not here to bash the rifle. It is a GOOD gun with decent power. As far as fut and finish it is 5+ star. Accuracy is only decent (I'm VERY particular how I rate an air rifle in accuracy). Could just be my particular gun as a friend has an HW90 .22 that develops 22 fpe and is highly accurate.

This HW90 has a very hefty fill to it. Weights similar to my .54 T/C Hawken rifle. The open sight was okay but I replaced it with an Anschultz match target aperature sight. This rifle seems to have potential to send .25 caliber pellets out to accurately hit targets at 50 yards. This rifle prefers the heavier pellets (27-33 grs).

The heavy mass weight neccessitates a sling if one will use it for hunting. No sling swivels. Cocking effort! I have had to use two hands more than once to cock this rifle. I can easily draw my 45 lbs. recurve and hit targets at 60 yds., so It is not that I am a weakling! Weihrauch's reputation for accuracy leaves me very disappointed! I get the same of better with my RWS and Diana break barrel rifles! I bought this HW90 after trying out my friends Weihrauch and was impressed with it!

I have thus far taken this rifle to the indoor range twice to limit variables like wind and humidity. On both occassions, I have had a failure to fire minimum of 3x each session! Each session was 30-40 pellets fired. I recocked the rifle which it would then fire. On my first session, About 25% of the time the automatic safety would not engage. The second session this situation happened about 6 x. I will be contacting customer service to address these problems. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND Weihrauch based on my experience.

A powerful gun which needs a strong person to be able to cock. I bought to use on ground hogs near my home.

The HW90 is a fine piece of precision engineering that delivers consistent smooth shooting. Everything from the laser engraved stock, to the deeply blued steel, and the adjustable trigger exude the quality and care that go into each of these rifles. After every shooting session once the rifle is cleaned and wiped down there's an opportunity to admire the deep beauty of it all.

Weihrauch does decline to mention that the HW90s are shipped with a relatively high pressure setting that makes cocking and firing a bit of a chore, especially if your preferred pellet falls in the 14 grain range. They also don't go out of their way to make it clear that they sell a gauge and pump that are all but required to get the HW90 tuned just right. Providing this detailed information up front would make it easier for people to understand their out-of-box rifle performance and how to tune it to their liking.

The most important thing to understand when buying an HW90 is that the pump, gauge, and a chronograph (fx pocket) are an integral part of the overall HW90 Rifle System. Out of the box the HW90 can potentially fire heavy pellets well, but it's almost guaranteed to destabilize the flight of lighter pellets which is most frustrating. This high level of power is also what is behind the frequent remarks about scope creep or scope damage. However, with the Weihrauch gauge a user can measure the air pressure, and with each press of the gauge incrementally release about 1/5 bar at a time. Combined with a chronograph and a pump, a shooter will be able to dial in the HW90 to fire pellets of any weight with superb accuracy and the highest possible energy. Another thing to keep in mind is that Weihrauch recommends in the manual a Dampa style mount, but BKL-263 Highs or Lows with a Sportsmatch scope stop work well with Hawke Airmax 3-9x40 scopes. As always, Do Not dry-fire this air rifle.

Its a beautiful gun. I hate to give it less than 5 stars but it just doesnt work for me.

I want to love this gun. Cocking is a nightmare. First time out I was finally able to wrestle it into submission to get it cocked once. I took it back home and removed the front sight. This allowed me to pull from the very end of the barrel. Ive now cocked it twice. At this point its just not worth the fight. Also the gun is very heavy and so long! So much heavier than a Remington 700 for example

Cant believe this is a referb. Appears to be new in the box. Great gun. Have both hw97k & Air Arms tx200 in .22. Toss up amount the three.

the front sight is HORRIBLE! inside a dark tube. almost useless at low light, even with the blade painted. have to use a "head" light to see it. why no fiber optic option? or at least an open blade that can be seen.

awesome product, but the front sight should have options at this price point. (cheap crosmans even come with fiber optics) It's not very pellet picky but it is hold sensitive as most breakers. hate to scope it. i may have a custom fiber optic front sight made or i may just machine away some of the tube to let more light onto the front blade insert. If i do my part, in daylight, it will slap 2" plates standing @ 50 yards. Not hard to cock for me, but it may be a challenge after a couple hundred rounds for some.

Quality built, beautiful finish on the wood stock and bluing, accurate and powerful.

Nothing really

I'm 64 years old and used to own a Crossman Powermaster 66 which I played around with for several years. I researched this gun on many different sites and I decided on this one because I wanted something quality made and I wanted to take it to the range as a hobby for practice shooting. I don't regret purchasing this gun. Yes, it does take a little effort to cock it but like most reviewers stated there is a technique. I'm 5'7 and 154 lbs and I have no issue cocking it. I shot about 100 rounds last weekend without any problem. From a standing position, I place the butt end on my the top of my right front pants pocket, and with my right hand I pull down near the end of the barrel. Not very difficult at all. I mounted a Redfield scope and was able to hit the target very accurately. I did us Loctite thread locker on the screws and so far no problem with anything coming loose. The scope was designed for springers and so far nothing has come loose in the last 2 years shooting.

Fiber optics Can't see any of the inserts under that big hood , older eyes , it's all a blur . Can't use a scope so good fiber optics is the only other choice . Maybe add skinner sight.

I would not buy from Pyramid Air ever again . I've bought , $3000 worth of various guns , all crap except benjamin but that was after a year of trouble first.

Since a scope is out of the question , fiber optic sights would be nice , these older eyes can't see the front sight with that hood blocking all light , I tried all the inserts and only the circle one worked for me . Put fiber optics on it for gods sake!!!! Include scope stop .

Pyramid Air is a joke , buy elsewhere. I asked them which scope I could mount on this gun , they sent me a link to ask other buyers , which was me ! They still haven't responded. I don't believe there is a scope that can survive this gun.

The Weihrauch HW90 has the look a feel of a classic firearm. Solid heft in hand, beautifully engraved and finished stock, and all metal parts are a beefy uniform blue. The safety mechanism is perfect for those times when the gun is cocked far in advance of firing, The effort to compress the gas piston is considerable, but the power and accuracy is worth it. Everything about this gun suggests it will become a well used family heirloom.

The effort required to cock the Weihrauch breakbarrel is considerable. If I could get the same power with less effort , I would take it. I'm not sure if a design modification would give the user more mechanical leverage, or if less pressure in the piston would be an acceptable trade-off. Sling mounts would be nice too.

This is the perfect air gun for those who prefer classic styling and power to SWAT-inspired semi-automatics.

Awesome Breabarrel rifle! Super power!

I enjoy the quality and the engendering.

Lot's of power. Well engineered. A little heavy but that's ok.

The rear sight is JUNK. if one is going to shoot at 30-35 ft. to the target, it's ok, but it will NOT adjust higher for longer shots. Front site is fine. Surely they can build a better rear sight that allows longer shots. Also, the scope grooves mounting area is so fine that scope mounts WILL NOT stay in and the scope dis-mounts from the grooving. Really a pain when your get the gun sighted in then the mount comes up. Only accurate with better (open) sights and scope mounting ability.

After nearly nine years, I still have this gorgeous rifle. I had it resealed a few weeks ago. I think I made the first review on it up here back nine years ago. It still hits awesome. Now I have a bench, and full range + gongs. I ended up using the JSB 18.13gr, since my short range days, with 25gr Jumbos. Lol, I had 1/10th an acre back then. To me it was worth resealing. Some guys don't like this rifle, but I still shoot it daily. 50 yards with repeatable accuracy. I can't even feel the recoil. I still recommend this rifle. I just ordered the HW80 in .20cal. I can hardly wait.

When I first got this rifle, it was a grunt to cock. My technique wasn't as smooth. Now, it's much easier when using a seated technique at the bench. I wouldn't change anything. Maybe offer a walnut option, like my HW 35E?

If you love Weihrauch (since 77) and want something different (Theoben Gas ram) and being able to hunt with the rifle cocked, it still is worth it, even though the price went up a bit since I preordered it in 2011-2012. It's all business with this rifle. I topped her with a nice Hawke Vantage SF. Then you get an Elite trigger, and wow. 5 mil dots holdover from a 40 yard zero, and you can easily hit the 70, 80 yard gongs. Have fun. It has enough power to keep you in control. It isn't crazy power. It's like a refined power.

Make .20 cal a standard option. I purchased the .20 barrel seperately, as I saved money on the refurbished gun.

This gun is gorgeous; well finished and fitted, as one would expect. The trigger is great out of the box. The cocking effort isn't what I expected at all. I am 130lbs soak and wet and I cocked it quite easily. Would I do that through a tin of pellets? I'm the guy who will try. Otherwise, it is more than I expected. I will update this when I get a chance to shoot it a bit. If it's anything like my 97K, it will be a tack driver.

I like the quality,finish and user friendly design.Takes A stronger pull down to cock but more power.I am new to air guns and have three.I always read reviews by experts. This gun is a great product for the dollars.

I would not reengineer but this rifle should offer scope packages that matches performance.I am not expert enough to change. However should offer maintenance in detail on care and cleaning nothing products.

I like this rifle better than my Ruger 10/22 and have more fun with it. So far it's my one and only pellet rifle. It's rugged, reliable, accurate and does what it's supposed to. I can't wait to hunt with it. I heard it's a scope eater but that doesn't bother me because I'm sticking with iron sights. I use the smallest apertures and they are simple to change out. I like that I can reset the safety once it's loaded and cocked. I also like that the screws on this rifle don't back out and I don't have to locktite anything. I've got the barrel, receiver, and stock coated in Renaissance Wax Polish. It's probably going to outlive me.

Maybe a better instruction guide. Other than that the rifle is good to go out of the box.

The break barrel is not that hard to cock. It requires technique and not big muscles as stated earlier. The pellet rifle maybe expensive but it's worth it and you won't be heart broke on what you spent after receiving it.
