Like power? The Phantom 1000 sends pellets downrange up to 1200 feet per second with alloy pellets and up to 1000 fps with lead pellets. And, this spring-piston breakbarrel rifle is lightweight, so you can easily shoot it for hours without getting weary.

It has a newly styled all-weather synthetic stock with a Monte Carlo buttstock and checkered pistol grip and forearm. The tailored styling makes the gun easy and comfortable to hold and offers natural points to properly balance the gun while shooting. Front and rear fiber optic sights let you acquire targets quicker (11mm dovetails allow for a scope), and the two-stage adjustable trigger (adjustable for length of second-stage pull, not pull weight) ensures further customization to your shooting preference.

Includes a 4x32mm CenterPoint scope with multi-coated lenses and finger-adjustable windage & elevation knobs.

This rifle is ideal for plinking and target practice, but you can also take small rodents.

Things I liked:

If your eyes are good enough, lose the POS scope and use the fiberoptic sights. They are plastic, a metal option would be much appreciated, but they work and hold the zero well. This rifle is very powerful and accurate. We chrono'd it at well over 900 fps with heavy Crosman 10.5 gr pellets which it likes and shoots very well. It knocks my target trap from Pyromyd off the bench at 30 ft. We have a lot of open marsh behind the house and grebes are in danger out to 300 yards, if I were so inclined and with some holdover to compensate for pellet drop out there. It makes a visible splash in the water out to 300 yards. A very powerful, impressive 177 cal rifle, and a real bargain.

Things I would have changed:

Metal fiberoptic sights

What others should know:

You can spend a lot more but would be hard pressed to find a more accurate and powerful 177 rifle.

Things I liked:

Has great power and with a little getting used to and sighting in, its a great small game hunting airgun.

Things I would have changed:

Its a bit on the loud side, and the pull was bit to heavy at first.

What others should know:

Probaly because I'm a begginer but, with the kick that springers have REMEMBER TO SCREW IN THE SCOPE STOP! The gun has moderate-heavy recoil.

  • Gregory from Canada asked:

What sling or shoulder strap is available for the Crosman Phantom?

    • oats from USA answered:

Try a gamo gun buddy sling #PY-A-2227 . It says it fits all airguns.

  • Vegas052 from USA asked:

I need a rifle with pest control what pest can i dispatch with this air rifle

    • Vegas052 from USA answered:

depend the pellets you use heavy pellet lower velocity more energy to short range i use crosman quest before and i was able to kill Crows, squirrels pigeons and other birds if you want something with more power try benjamin discovery in 22 caliber or any other 22 caliber break barrel rifle depend what's your budget

    • Michael from USA answered:

200' (66 YARDS) Is out of this rifles range.

    • Chevota from USA answered:

Without some tuning most will not be accurate enough at 200 for a bunny head shot, but some are and if so it's capable of it. As for power loss, that varies with pellet choice, but if the gun is good and the correct pellet used it might have 7ftbs at 200'. On the other hand some will likely take several shots to hit a starling at 20 yards. So I suppose the 200' mark is more about power than accuracy, but each person and their gun, pellets and skills will have to experiment to see what they can do at given ranges.

    • Val from USA answered:

200 feet? Not sure this rifle will shoot accurately enough past 20-25 yards. What energy would it be delivering downrange past 25 yards?

    • Chevota from USA answered:

Rabbits/crows and smaller at realistic ranges up 200'
