    An illuminated reticle is a necessity if you hunt during dawn or dusk. Switch from red to green illumination, depending on the type of environment and quarry. If you don't need the illumination, the reticle is black. The 30mm tube will let in more light than a 1" reticle. With 35 yds parallax setting, this makes a good hunting scope.     Added to my RWS Diana 34 and made a world of difference of accuracy compared to stock hi-viz sites. Illumination of 36 colors is a bit cheezy and is excellent with none. Very tough scope and highly recommend.
