The Steel Eagle is a powerful breakbarrel hunter destined for greatness on the trail or target range. Bearing the name of famed professional hunter and big game outfitter Jim Shockey, this breakbarrel has “hunting airgun” written all over it. The Steel Eagle features an all-weather synthetic stock, and front and rear sling mounts for the addition of a sling for carrying in all seasons. A new integrated sound-suppression system will ensure quiet follow up shots in the field.

With Crosman’s Nitro Piston Elite Technology, the Steel Eagle really puts a spin on your pellets! This powerful gas-piston can send pellets flying at speeds up to 1400 fps (1200 in lead .177) and deliver 23 fpe when they arrive on target (26 fpe in .22). With this much power, the Steel Eagle can strike fast and hit hard—ideal for small game and getting in trigger time on the range. Simply mount your included 3-9x32mm CenterPoint scope to the Weaver/Picatinny rail, and get ready to blast away!

Things I liked:

Absolutely Nothing, only shot it a few time and the "Glued" on scope rail came off, tried JP Weld and 24 hr cure in clamps, got 5 more shots out of it, came off again. Airgun, dissimilar metals = Glue GREAT IDEA!!! Hat OFF to CosBEN...

Things I would have changed:

The "Engineers" who thought glue would hold a rail on a reverse recoil .22 caliber airgun, I would change them. Or maybe it was those above who wanted to save a few buck in production/labor cost, either way, I'm sure Jim Shockey is Proud of the monthly check.

What others should know:

This gun is crap.

Things I liked:

Impressive the FPS and this and NP2 technology As to the accuracy it's very rewarding to hit the bull's-eye every time at 40 yards I like this airgun package

Things I would have changed:

However this gun is very heavy there are firearms/Rifles/Shotguns that weigh less than this and it should come with a sling. I would like to thank you in advance for sending me a free slang

Things I liked:

Grip, polymer stock, and accuracy. Even though I haven't shot the recommended for break-in the Steel Eagle is extremely accurate with quarter size groups at 30 yards.

Things I would have changed:

I wouldn't change anything.

What others should know:

Very easy to cock and the trigger can be adjusted to make it lighter, which I did.

  • Wayne from USA asked:

Benjamin Steel Eagle Elite .22 Cal NP2 Air Rifle 495FPS,,i bought this rifle, thinking the box had the wrong information on it. is this accurate & why?

    • Mark from USA answered:

Your gun is either a Canadian model (less than 500 fps) or the gas piston is defective. Contact Crosman for service/warranty work.

  • Slick from USA asked:

Hello, I just purchased this gun and upon opening the box i set up the scope and went to take a shot, when i clicked the safety off a small pin fell out of the gun and the safety became loose. Now the safety bounces around and i can't tell how the pin fits into the gun. I don't have experience taking one of these guns apart at all and was wondering if this is common, and if so is there an "easy fix"

    • Jerry from USA answered:

See if you can return this rifle. It sounds like this is a manufactures defect.

  • Zachary from USA asked:

I accidentally dry fired it.... did I damage the gun?

    • Vincent from USA answered:

I doubt that you damaged it with one accidental dry fire. Just try not to make a habit of it or else you will. However, go about breaking in your air rifle as normal and if you notice after about a thousand shots that it's shooting very inconsistently at its target. Then you may have damaged the piston head. I would also purchase a better scope for this particular air rifle. Because, the one it comes with is cheap and is not reliable past 6 magnification.
