Daisy's most popular air rifle! The 880 shoots both BBs and pellets, and it does so with amazing power. This multi-pump pneumatic sends ammo roaring downrange! BBs go up to 750 fps (Never shoot BBs at hard objects!), and pellets go up to 715 fps. You can adjust power and velocity by the number of pumps you put into the rifle (up to 10 pumps). The synthetic molded woodgrain Monte Carlo stock has a raised right-hand cheekpiece and checkering on the grip and forearm. The front sight is fiber optic, the rear sight is fully adjustable but is not fiber optic. For more accuracy, mount a scope, red dot or laser on the 11mm dovetails on the receiver (made of engineering resin).

It's a BB repeater (holds 50 BBs) and a single-shot pellet shooter. Take this rifle plinking, target shooting or if you just want to have fun! It's lightweight, so you can shoot for hours.

This rifle is so much fun to shoot, you'll run through pellets and BBs pretty quick. Click the AMMO link to stock up on ammo. Click the ACCESSORIES link to find fun targets and other shooting gear.

Things I liked:Especially for the money this is actually a really good gun. Light. No recoil. Accurate. I use crosman 10.5s and im shooting cans at 50yds. Even though its all plastic its a pretty sturdy gun. I really like it. My go to plinker and midrange squirrel gun. Itll pierce 1 side of a paint can out to 45yds. Not to loud. Very backyard friendly. My 2289 is louder. I have a 3-9x32 Center point on mine.
Things I would have changed:Better barrel. Pellets only. Barrel isnt bad but it has very slight groovings and a light twist rate.
What others should know:I would only use 10 pumps. 5 isnt as accurate for some reason. Most scopes will be a bit of a pain to mount with the way the reciver is set. Heavier rounds are best.

Things I liked:Well i liked the price and the accuracy was acceptable though not as good as i expected.
Things I would have changed:I would like to see the 880 made just the way it was around 1981-82 with metal receiver & pump arm as the plastic pump arm used today can have flex from side to side as well as in the correct direction. What can i say it just feels like a toy. The big problem with this gun has always been the same loading pellets especially with a scope on the gun can be difficult for any size hand. The trigger on the 880 could be a lot better, but at least on the one i got it was pretty consistent if not a little heavy, but better than every Gamo trigger from the same time period & including my Gamo Big Cat from the metal trigger era. Which brings me to the receiver mount for a scope just is not very stable with any rings or scope i used.
What others should know:My dissatisfaction with this model 880 purchased in 2007 was based in large part on the changes in manufacturing vs. my first 880 i purchased in 1981-82 and it is possible it was an older model that lingered in stock. My old 880 was a lot heavier and more stable, but all that is not what matters. With my old 880 i could get 3/4" group at 40yd and with the new 880 that was the best i could do at 20yd using daisy wad cutters. In conclusion if i were purchasing a pump bb/pellet rifle i would spend the extra 20 and get the Crosman 2100b as i believe it is better quality in every aspect vs. the 880 & has a much more reasonable trigger weight than the 880 or the 901. Also it is over 1.5lbs heavier.

Things I liked:Very durable. Although its reciever and pump handle are plastic it is very durable overall.
Things I would have changed:The reciever and bolt as well as the pump handle of all things are plastic. anything that is important for operating the gun (i.e- the bolt and pump handle should be metal ) Id definitely pay and extra 10-20 dollars for a metal reciever.
What others should know:The bolt feels flimsy and cheap but after smacking around on the bolt of another daisy rifle with the exact bolt i can attest that the bolt is very durable and will not break under any normal or minor stress. There is nothing flimsy about it.

    • Kim from USA asked:

can you put Diopter sights on this rifle

      • Devin from USA:

No idea why youd want too... But yes it has a dovetail rail on the receiver but the sight would be too high and wouldnt line up with the factory front sight.
