Power to spare! No matter which caliber you get, the Hatsan 135 air rifle will take care of pesky garden varmints and destructive critters, such as squirrels, rabbits, grackles and chipmunks. The shock absorber reduces vibration, and that should increase accuracy, as well.

Things I liked:This air rifle is of excellent quality and finish. The walnut stock is exquisitely finished, the bluing is quite nice, and all the little details are very well done. I couldn't get an acceptable eye relief until I removed the scope stop...which I did. I tried to install a Leapers droop compensator which would allow me to move the scope a couple of inches backwards...but It caused the rifle to shoot a foot low at 10 yards. So, I took it off, removed the scope stop, and immediately shot a 10 shot group of around .75" This gun is accurate! It also hits really hard. However, there's really not that much recoil...maybe it's the shock asorbing system that Hatsan has.
Things I would have changed:It's really heavy...which seeing that I'm mostly going to be shooting from a rest isn't that much of a problem...and it's really hard to cock. I've shot around 50 rounds through it, and it's already a lot smoother, and I think, a bit easier to cock. We'll see after 500 or so. I did read all the reviews, and had no reason to expect anything else.
What others should know:I first ordered a Hatsan 125 Vortex with a black stock. It arrived on schedule, but was doa. The Vortex piston was discharged. I called Pyramyd, and they agreed to replace it...no arguments. However, it took 3 weeks. First they said that they would replace the piston, then it was that they would simply send me a completely new gun...but, the first email I got said that the rifle was back ordered. I sent off a really nasty email, only to discover the next email in the queue said that the rifle had been shipped. I got it, cleaned it, and shot around a dozen rounds, and then it quick cocking. The piston had its full force, but at the end of the stroke, it wouldn't latch. I really wanted the rifle, but I decided to replace it with the 135, so I bought it, and then returned the original. I was disappointed that it took so long to get a good working rifle, but it seems as though I have one now, and in their defense, Pyramyd was right there with a working solution for me, each time.

Things I liked:Beautiful gun. Honestly, the stock is almost worth the money alone. It's fairly well balanced, which offsets the massive weight. Seriously, this thing weighs more than any of my powder burners. Over 10 lbs with a scope. I tried to take it out into the freezing weather earlier this week, and I came to the realization that airgunning in the winter is a miserable affair. I don't really like shooting in my basement, but I couldn't wait to play with my new toy, so I gave it a go. I'm still in the break in period, and I can manage groups I can cover with a quarter at 15 yards, offhand in my dim basement with the worst attempt at the artillery position ever done. I can live with that. Great power for a break barrel. It flies through a phonebook and deep into half inch pine with every pellet I've tried so far. The "kick" is certainly worse than my .177 storm XT, but manageable. Hatsan is notorious for bad Q/C, but I've noticed no defects in my rifle yet. The cocking is very smooth.
Things I would have changed:Like I said, HEAVY. WOW. This thing is almost impossible to shoot offhand for more than a few rounds without getting the shakes. For a gun clearly intended for hunting, this weight, combined with the lack of sling mounts could be an absolute pain. I bought it as a replacement for a my .22lr, .22 just doesn't exist where I live. The power of this rifle does not even begin to compare to a .22lr, and don't let anybody tell you it does. That said, I'm sure it will reach out to about 100 yards with acceptable accuracy on a still day. The spring was quite "twangy" when I started shooting, although it has quieted down a bit. If I could do it again, I would probably opt for the gas ram version.
What others should know:Near the barrel pivot, and on the buttpad, there was some yellow crusty stuff that seems to have stained the metal and rubber. Purely cosmetic, so I don't mind. DO NOT BUY THIS unless you have significant upper body strength! If you don't work out regularly, cocking this with one hand would be a chore. Owning something too hard to cock can make shooting a nightmare.

Things I liked:All I can say is WOW!! I received my Hatsan 135 .25 (January 2015) and this is one of the most accurate & most powerful air rifles I have ever own. I have used a few different pellets at 10 yards just to test shoot with them shooting cans and targets to see what was the most accurate pellet for this rifle. It is very accurate with JSB EXACT KING 25,39 gr AND BARACUDA 31,02 gr. I shot through 5 soup cans with the Baracuda's at 10 yards using the TruGlo Fiber Optic Sight which is really awesome. My other high power air rifles do not come close to this Hatsan 135 .25 not by a long shot. Now far as the recoil I have been hearing all about & watching in these videos for some reason I really didn't feel anything at all, to be honest. The cocking effort reminds me of the Hatsan Sniper 125 .22 but I can only assume that once I break it in the barrow will become more smooth to pull down.
    Things I would have changed:Nothing
What others should know:Cocking effort, you must have some physical strength. But it will smooth out once your rifle is broken in.

This rifle is a monster!!! When I received the rifle brand new in the package was a flat rubber piece. Its rectangular about 2 inch wide and 6 inches long 1/8 inch thick. Anybody know what this is for? Thanks

      • james from USA asked:

I just purchased hatsan 135 .25 cal. How long do these rifles last with normal use?

        • Blake from USA asked:

Is it possible to remove the iron sights? I don't like how they look, and if I bought it, I'd want it to look right. I'm more concerned about the front one than the rear, and don't really care if I have to permanently destroy the front to get it off.

          • Dan the Man from USA:

It front sight is just pressure fitted. You can take it off, but you might not be able to get it back on again. You should be able to remove the rear sight by punching out the retainer pin.

          • Richelle from USA:

The rear sight can be removed with one screw. The front sight is attached to the muzzle brake as a one piece unit.
