SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Open pistol
NOTE: The owner's manual states that this has BAX Hop-Up, but it does not.
Although this gun appears to have a half-cock safety, the pistol does not function like that and would need to be fully cocked and on safe to be carried at the ready. Carrying this pistol half-cocked with the safety on may cause accidental discharge and is not recommended.
Read more about the SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Open pistol in Dennis Adler's Airgun Experience blog.
An incredibly realistic airgun that's a great all-day plinker but also suitable for maintaining firearm proficiency. The slide moves, the gun feels and handles like the P226 firearm, and it functions smoothly and flawlessly. Of the air pistols that we've tested, the SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Open has proven to be one of the most accurate. Usually, BB guns aren't that accurate...but this one will surprise you!

Things I liked: The feel, weight and definitely the accuracy.
Things I would have changed: The slide. I owned two. The slide on the first one broke right behind the front sight after about 18 mags. I decided to keep the first one for parts. I bought a second one and the slide broke in the identical place in less than 15 mags. I did not rough handle the gun.
What others should know: Be prepared for the slide to break. My review of the first pistol was not published by PA. I wonder why.
Things I liked: Worked well for 18 mags
Things I would have changed: not getting a response from Pyramid Air
What others should know: Be prepared to buy 2 if you really like it. I did when the first one broke
Things I liked: I like the basically all metal construction and the blow back. The trigger is good. Sights are good, I have a red dot to mount on it but I just have not put the red dot on the pistol yet. I like the fact the slide stays back after the last bb has been fired.
Things I would have changed: I would prefer it to shoot .177 pellets with a rifled barrel for better accuracy, then it would be a really excellent training pistol.
What others should know: I have shot a dozen magazines through the pistol so far and it's function has been flawless. if I am careful the pistol will keep almost all the shots in the black on a NRA 5 meter BB gun target, at 5 Meters of course.
Does the open combo come with just accessories or with the gun as well?
The descriptions list the FPS at 376 for this gun while the standard X-5 is listed at only 300. Is this version really capable of that velocity?
I highly doubt that the velocity is higher than 300-320 fps like every other kwc replica co2 pistol...it's not unusual for PA or the airgun makers to greatly exaggerate their velocity ratings.
Does the de-cocker lever work like it does on the real gun?
Did you even look at the pictures? This is not a standard P226, it's a X-Five, which has a frame-mounted safety like M-1911's. There is no decocker.
