BSA invented the modern spring-piston gun, but they've never stopped to rest on their laurels. They continue to innovate, relying heavily on the expertise of world-renowned airgun expert John Bowkett.

The Meteor MK7 is the latest version in the Meteor series, which was originally introduced in 1959. There's not much in common with that older gun, as the MK7 model has the benefit of modern manufacturing and materials.

BSA spring-piston air rifle models are put through a rigorous 10,000-shot test and then stripped down to see how they held up. Anything that doesn't last is improved so it will. Not until the spring gun passes with flying colors in all areas does it get approved for production and can wear the BSA name. Don't you wish every airgun manufacturer did that?

Things I liked:

I like the open sights, wood stock, overall quality of craftsmanship, accuracy and value. Also I like how it does not come with a scope so it sells at a lower price.

Things I would have changed:

Breech block is made of a polymer that is similar to what you would find on most Gamo air rifles. The trigger is not great but it can be upgraded with a Charlie Da Tuna GRT-4G.

What others should know:

I own this rifle in .22cal. I believe the barrel is made in England and the rest of the rifle is made in Spain by Gamo. You can upgrade the trigger to a Charle Da Tuna GRT-4G and it makes this a great rifle but you will need a spring compressor to install it. It has to be one of the best values at the $160 price point. I own rifles that were much more expensive and most airgunners would consider "better" but I probably shoot my BSA Meteor more than anything. I am strongly considering buying a 2nd BSA Meteor

Things I liked:

I have a few high-dollar German and English airguns but just wanted a lightweight can plinker. Bought the BSA Meteor MK7 in .22 and have shot it maybe 150 shots so far. Nice gun, light, fairly easy to cock, super accurate with Benjamin dome pellets. Nice full-size beech stock and buttpad. Safety is non-automatic so I just ignore it, best safety is your brain. Mine is VERY accurate at 50 feet with excellent open sights. Blowing through a steel coffee can, both sides, easily. Somewhat twangy but that may improve with breakin.

Things I would have changed:

Didn't realize this had a plastic (polymer?) breechblock, not steel. Seems super dense, almost like metal. Other review say this design has held up well for years so I guess is OK.

What others should know:

This is a nice decent-quality gun for not much money. Good power, excellent accuracy thru British-made barrel. Good all-day shooter. Good value for the money.

Things I liked:

The accuracy, and the stock, the stock looks very nice, easy to scratch but its a wood stock so you can expect it, it also seems to have a great balance of accuracy and power.

Things I would have changed:

Was not too impressed with the trigger, its basically gamo's smooth action trigger, also a scope stop would have been nice for the price, just has a hole for one in the action, my rs2 had one built in and it was $60 cheaper.

What others should know:

Its a good all round gun that deserves more attention then it gets, I would highly recommend it.
