This bb gun is styled for shooters who appreciate the nostalgia of old-west Cowboy Action Shooters. The Sheridan Cowboy is classic in its look and feel. Sized for youngsters, its ideal for entry-level shooters and intended to satisfy the demands of young shooters at any skill level.

The innovative, ratcheted lever helps protect young shooters from the annoying lever snap-back noticed on some other lever-action rifles. The ratcheted lever remains in position until its fully cocked before allowing it to gently return to the stock--no matter how far its cocked. This BB gun is both lightweight and dependable, making it the right choice for developing lifelong shooting and marksmanship skills and for teaching safety.

Steel BBs can ricochet. The shooter and everyone in the shooting area should wear safety glasses when a gun is being handled (even if it's unloaded). Remember to remove all pets from the area, as rebounding ammo can hit them, too. Never shoot steel BBs at hard objects (including metal targets) or water, as that increases the chance of ricochet.

A classic BB gun that will help develop safe gun handling among younger and new shooters.

The ratcheted lever stops that annoying lever snap-back and remains in position until its fully cocked before allowing it to gently return to position. It's lightweight and dependable.

Things I liked:

Great price, wood stock and fun to shot. I think it may be hard for a child to cock, at least my wife finds it hard. I am thinking of getting another one for my workshop rodent control program.

Things I liked:

Its power, which has been more than I had with a Red Ryder but then from BB gun to BB gun even of the same model it appears there are variances in power (fps)..With minor adjustment to elevation it is dead on accurate and serves my purposes in keeping pests out of my small yard.

Things I would have changed:

I had the fore grip and stock refinished..couldn't stand that "orange" looking finish it came with and i am short man and even for me the stock could be longer.

What others should know:

I think it is too hard to cock for a young person, harder than my Red Ryder. Mine was defective in that the door on the BB loading opening wouldn't stay shut.. Rather than return it I had a jury rigged O'ring fix to keep it closed..When i went to return it to the factory I found it to cost almost as much in shipping costs than a new Sheridan Cowboy ..So when this one breaks I will buy another the warranty is no good with the expenses involved. Quality Control should of caught this!

Things I liked:

i have bought multi air guns from PA , love them all , great gifts for young kids and adult friends , i just bought my third sheridan cowboy for me , i've own bb guns since i was a kid and now retired i can plink from my back porch , i highly recommend this gun for kids growing up , gets them outside and good bonding with fathers on teaching gun safety , so good

Things I would have changed:

i saw some complaints on the length of the stock , oh well , it made for kids , ok , as a adult i can live it , oh well , i've shot real guns with short stocks

What others should know:

i highly recommend the copper bb's vs steel bb's

      Correct.

  • Gregory from Canada asked:

Does anyone know what a decidel reading is for the Sheridan cowboy?

    • Gregory from Canada answered:

This gun is quiet enough for shooting in an apartment

  • Gregory from Canada asked:

Can I shoot Gamo .177 cal lead round ball instead of steel BB's?

    • Val from USA answered:

it would probably be too large for it. Remember BBs are less than 4.5mm in diameter

    • Gregory from Canada answered:

Since nobody answered my question I went ahead and tried Gamo lead round ball in my Sheridan Cowboy. I treated the gun like a single shot and found the balls shot well but some did jam in the barrel but I used a wood Dowling and rammed the ball back into the breach and fired again...the round balls are 1/2 gram or 8.2 grain and seemed to fit the barrel tighter than steel BB's because I don't think the velocity was much lower than withsteel BB's and the lead balls caused a bit more damage to the pop cans I was shooting at :) be sure to have 1/8" wood Dowling rod to clear an occasional jam, and try lead round ball in your Sheridan cowboy for a change from steel BB's.
