    Accuracy

    Things I would have changed:

    Maybe a better shaped stock

    What others should know:

This is the most accurate rifle I have ever shot. It just shoots straight with no fuss. I have to put it away when everyone get out their cheap springers. Its just not fair to them.

    Things I liked:

I got the 0.25 Marauder and Benjamin Hand pump. I liked that I could take the rifle out of the box, slap an old crappy scope on it, pump it up by hand in 5 minutes of minimal effort, load with Benjamin domes, and hit a soda can at 75 yards with every single shot. I shoot 16 rounds then it's 80 pumps in 1.5 minutes to get back to 3000psi. It's accurate and a ton of fun right out of the box but now comes the fun of tweaking it (tuning, pellet selection, etc.) that will get those dime sized groupings. It's really a great shooting gun, from the smooth trigger to the quiet report and excellent accuracy and power.

    Things I would have changed:

As I read about the various modifications folks make to their M-Rod, I would probably add a depinger as this is the loudest part of the shot and also an air tube extension for the 0.25 because I'd like a higher shot count between fill-ups.

    What others should know:

This is a quiet yet powerful air gun with 45fpe out of the box. At that power a pellet easily goes through a 2 inch phonebook with power to spare and at 30 yards it imbeds a full 1 1/4" in a pine board. Since it's so quiet you may not take it seriously as a powerful gun and this would be a mistake. You have to always know what's behind the shot especially if hunting varmints in a neighborhood. How quiet? The sound of the pellet hitting the backstop 70yards away is more discernible than the sound of the shot that is right in front of me.

    Things I liked:

The fit and finish on the rifle is excellent and the trigger is smooth and consistent. I received the .22 rifle on 10/15/13 and charged the rifle. It took about 160 strokes of the Benjamin PCP pump to charge the gun when empty. I did not clean the barrel and the rifle has been consistently shooting groups 3/8 inch and under at 17 yards (my backyard range) with Crosman premier hollow points and Benjamin Discovery PCP hollow points with the forearm rested on a ladder rung and the butt end unsupported. I believe the groups from this rifle would easily be under 1/4 off a bench with these pellets and I hope to find out soon. I get 35 accurate shots from a full charge with the factory setting on this rifle and it takes 80 strokes on the pump to recharge the rifle. I purchased eight different pellets to test in this rifle and have only tested a few of the other pellets as the rifle is shooting so well with the least expensive Crosman and Benjamin pellets. I recorded chronograph readings for the 14.3 Crosman pellets and they are averaging 850 fps and 22.9 foot pounds of energy.

    Things I would have changed:

Rifle should ship with the single shot adapter.

    What others should know:

If you buy this rifle you will want one in each caliber.

    Things I liked:

I like everything about this gun I actually sold my 22 long rifle to buy this gun after purchasing the .177 marauder and I'm very satisfied. This gun is more accurate than the 22 that I sold to buy it.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

I only get 16 shots from 3000 to 2000 psi and after that the shots start dropping, so I plan on buying the debounce device to get more shots

    Things I liked:

I bought my .25 M-rod 1 year ago last week , 10/2/12. The intent of this review is to help prospective buyers who are moderately versed on air rifles, as I was, To Buy This Gun! I did moderate research on-line and talked to a few Pyramid Air techs regarding my following question. “I currently have an older (mid 80’s) Beeman, made in Spain (FX2) which is a .177 springer. I’m guessing it has approx. 650/700 fps. It’s not doing the job on squirrels and especially raccoons. I live within city limits and need something quite that packs the punch I need”. All three started with the Marauder .22 or .25 along with a few various Air Arms that were a little pricey. After hearing all three say the exact same thing to me but in different orders I was sold on the M-rod .25. I also talked to a tech regarding scopes and followed his advice of “if you want the best glass for your money go with Bushnell” so I picked up the XLT Trophy ….. though it lacks mil dotes, for my needs (killing pests within 20-30 yards) it has been flawless. I also got the following at the advice of the sales rep (Ruth): bi-pod (love it!) extra 8 shot mag (must have) the single shot tray (I have used this more than the 8 shot mags especially when targeting. The single shot tray kinda slows things down and allows me to enjoy shooting a little more, (Flambeau Safe Shot Double Rifle Case) the gun is shipped within the case within the box the case came in, so it provided a safe ride home for my M-rod.

    Things I would have changed:

This is a continuation of the things I like with a short few sentances about the one thing I don't. My M-rod out of the box was holding dime size groups at 30 yards and nickel at 50 yards. I had a few slight adjustments on the scope to get there. I was using JSB Exact Kings. The only other pellet I tried was the H&N Field Target and got much worse results. Sticking with the JSBs. I also made a shooting bag out of a pant leg, zip ties, and about 10 pounds of rice, works very well. Since October 10th’ish I have provided “arial burials” for 29 squirrels, 4 chipmunks and 2 raccoons (all were either feasting on our garden or residing in our attic). As the big man upstairs as my witness I used 37 pellets to accomplish this. I had 1 squirrel and 1 raccoon that required and second shot. All but two pellets were complete pass throughs. So be sure of your surroundings behind your target. I have had nothing but fun with this rifle and if you are on the fence about getting it I urge you to take the step. I am 99% sure (you could always be the one to get the one lemon) that you will not be disappointed. The one and only aspect of this gun (which could be a deal breaker for some) is the weight. It is honestly too heavy (with scope and bi-pod) to stand and get consecutive accurate free standing shots. I purchased a set of shooting sticks which help immensely. Chris - Charlotte

    What others should know:

I would highly recommend the “10 for 10” …. Your gun is put together (scope/bipod …etc) and checked before it leaves the building. How annoying it would be to get your scope and be missing a screw or fill your gun for the first time and see it’s not holding air …... $10 for 10 is a very nice option offered by Pyramid Air. The only dilemma I faced was to go with the pump or air tank. I read many reviews where the pumping gets ridiculous after 2 or 3 sessions so I can say I have never had to go through that, but can say I spent approx $210-$230 on the tank and adapter/yoke equipment. The refill takes approx. 30 seconds….. it’s such a luxury. I took my gun with the yoke to an industrial tech store and they put together a 7,000 psi max pressure hose setup for me , 20 minutes and $28 later I was shooting! To refill the 80 cu.ft. tank at the shop down the street is $5. I get approx. 15 fills on the gun from 3,000 – 2,500 psi. I do more spur of the moment pest control than long session target shooting so the 3,000 psi tank suits my needs (I normally fill the gun to about 2,200 knowing I’ll need only 1 or 2 shots) . You may also get your scuba shop to go a couple hundred PSI past 3,000 and get a few more fills. I’ve experienced the pellet that leaves the barrel at 1,900 psi hits the same mark as the one at 3,000 psi. If I know I’m not going to use the gun for over 2 weeks I drop the psi to 1,000 keeping some pressure on the o-rings (tech advice)

I got this for my husband for Christmas last year and he loves it! He talked about it so much 2 of his cousins that he hunts with had to order one too! He just ordered the Marauder Pistol for me for a early Christmas present! It looks great,is quiet and a powerful air rifle for the money!

    Things I would have changed:

My husband would say change nothing but i think it's too heavy!

    Things I liked:

I almost wonder if there is point to reviewing this rifle. Anyone with anything negative to say must be either using it wrong or just asking too much of it. I love how well made it is, how quiet it is, and how well it shoots. It's pretty fantastic.

    Things I would have changed:

Put a Weaver rail on it instead of 11mm. Also, run a lower profile mag, even at the expense of capacity. This would allow a smooth top on the receiver.

    What others should know:

This rifle has a gap in the receiver and there for the scope rail. Some scopes can't get on there exactly where you want them and some one piece mounts won't work. Check first to see if your intended optics clear the gap and the mag.

    Things I liked:

The power and how hard it hits. It is very accurate(one ragged hole at 25 yards with the JSB's). Nice & solid feel. The two-stage adjustable trigger is the best I've had on a pellet rifle(this helps in accuracy) and the factory settings seem to work quite well.

    Things I would have changed:

I had to send the first Marauder back because it would not hold pressure. So, it would be beneficial to the consumer if either Benjamin or Pyramyd would pressure check these before shipping. I requested that the replacement be pressure checked before shipping it...they did free of charge and this one holds pressure with no measurable loss. There are several postings online about this subject.

    What others should know:

It is hard to pump with the hand pump but I knew this before purchasing because of the pre-purchase research. An air tank is the way to go if you can afford it, but the hand pump is still a great backup. Recharge by the 2,000 PSI mark & it won't take as long to get back to 3,000 PSI and the accuracy will be maintained. Also, try as many different brands & weights of pellets as possible so you can find the pellet that groups best with your weapon. Enjoy...it's an excellent product.

    Things I liked:

A lot of features and performance for the money. Great trigger! East to fill. Quiet, powerful, multi-shot. Size makes it a nice bench gun and it is stable off hand.

    Things I would have changed:

The finishes are fine for a field rifle, but they are a bit plain. Finishes are appropriate considering the price. This is a full size rifle and is over 7 pounds. Like a magnum springer in size and heft.

    What others should know:

A lot PCP performance for the money, albeit a bit plain. Be sure you know it's a full size rifle, I prefer Carbine sized rifles. My Marauder was clipping pellets due to an assembly issue with the shroud. PyramydAir gave me a full refund and I ordered a carbine sized rifle. I may try a Maurauder in 25 cal in the future.

This Rifle is a Hard Hitter, out of the Box I had it the scope and filled with air in about 4 minutes, zero was quick as it only took 5 shots, was taking care of my pigeon problem that afternoon.

    Things I would have changed:

I cant imagine a better rifle for the price.

    What others should know:

    Things I liked:

Use: Small Game Hunting Wooden Stock .25 Cal Marauder Ammo: JSB Exact Kings Upgrades: 10 LBS Hammer Spring Sighted in at 40 yards I make consistent head shots on squirrels from 20 to 50 yards. Practically no kickbacks and trigger pull is light contributing to consistent accuracy. Best pellet I found are the JSB Exact Kings. Buy in bulk because they're always on pre-order and if you're going to be shooting a lot, which I guarantee you will.

    Things I would have changed:

I prefer wooden stocks unlike the new synthetic one. Saying that, the wooden stocks should be lighter. I hunt all day in the field and carrying around this gun is very tiring even though I workout.

    What others should know:

    1. The o-rings tend to wear down pretty fast causing air leaks. Plus side is that many auto parts stores carry these standard o-rings and replacing is a synch. 2. If not chambered right, ammo can get stuck. All you have to do is keep wiggling on the clip until the pellet is freed or bent/crushed enough to be pull out. Don't worry though because the material surrounding that area will not get damaged if careful enough.

This is the second review on one of these great guns.... I'll explain more in (Airgunners should know)As far as this .25 cal owner is concerned this has to be the most reliable and Accurate ADULT air rifle I have EVER owned!!!! Love the trigger, so smooth & predictable (It's just heaven)...Bolt action is smooth, feeding of the magazine is true (no hang up's)The green mountain barrel is remarkably ACCURATE!!! Construction of this gun is solid' but the wood is still to soft and scuffs to easy...

    Things I would have changed:

Things i would change....Without at doubt the weight! 12lbs is alot to pack around for 8-12 hrs out hunting (My normal hunting day). That's with scope, bi-pod,& sling. and deeper bluing PLEASE!

    What others should know:

I owned a .22 cal version of this gun before returning and upgrading to the .25. the .22 was accurate up to about 3500 rounds through it, then the accuracy fell off dramatically! I done all the cleaning the gun required/ammo change and more and nothing helped!! Got the .25 and a new scope (rewind) thought I had the same problem, found out the cheap (centerpoint scope) I had was just junk, put on a hawke 1/2 mil dot scope, zeroed at 100 yards. I can and have taken down 4 grounghogs to date at 80-105ydrs, head shots with ease.... this gun is a beast of an air rifle, it's an M-rod with no doubt... but I call my the HAMMER! Cause no matter what I shoot it drops like a hammer on impact!!! I've never owned a .177 version of this gun and i hear its a great gun, but can't comment on it...(Lack of experience) .22 was a great gun as well. Until i had my issue with mine, other peoples experience may differ, but the .25 without a doubt is well worth the money in my opinion in the ($500) price range, the fact in know that where u put the crosshairs is where your shot is gonna hit You cant go wrong with this rifle, just DON'T go cheap on any scope for this gun it's deserves better,(Like a fellow airgunner said why buy a $500 gun and have a $50 scope makes no sense!)If you don't do that then you should be fine.... Great job Benjamin/Crosman on this air rifle, with the green mountain barrel..! If you have any doubts in buying this gun buy from PYRAMYD AIR best company is the buisness!!!!!

    Things I liked:

The rifle in .25 is a great shooting gun right out of the box.I have 3 different kinds of pellets that it really shoots well with the Air Arms being the best and the Benji Domes right behind them.

    Things I would have changed:

With mine I had to sand the air tube channel in the stock out a small amount because the whole gun wiggled about an 1/8" and was throwing off accuracy. It only took about 10 minutes and it is tight in there now.

    What others should know:

If you are thinking about getting one I would definately recommend the Marauder.PA offered to exchange the rifle for another if I had wanted to ,but I was afraid I would get one that was not so good at shooting the different kinds of pellets that this one does.
