    Things I liked:

Great air rifle at a great value, I got the .22 cal and have been impressed since day one, with this rifle. Plenty of power to reach my target at 75 yards. Took 20-30 minutes to get gun sighted in but what do you expect with a cheaper scope but I've seen worse. Can't wait to take this gun squirrel and rabbit hunting. The nitro piston is great, it's smooth and you don't get that twang from normal spring rifles. I like the predator poly mags and the JSB jumbos with this gun.

    Things I would have changed:

Make it a little lighter, maybe add a sling. Replace the scope with something better. Trigger a little long

    What others should know:

Great gun, reasonably priced love the nitro piston.

    Things I liked:

Nice finish, great power, quiet rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Accuracy is poor, even after 500 shots.

    What others should know:

Handsome rifle, with great power but have some drawbacks: hard to cock (effort does not change with use), long trigger stage and poor accuracy. The cocking effort must be beyond 35 pounds. Your arm gets tired and sore after 20 shots. The trigger pull is long and a bit hard. But the worst problem is the lack of accuracy: At 20 yards, artillery hold, resting on soft pillow, after more than 500 shots, barrel cleaned and screws tightened, the best I could get was 2" groups with Crosman Premier. Most of the time there was one or two shots way out. Other pellets (Umarex Superdome 14.5 gr and Meisterkugeln 14.0 gr, JSB jumbo diabolo 18.13 gr) were worst. For comparison, I can do 1/2" groups at the same distance with my old Gamo 560 carbine. The provided scope was fine. I shimmed the back mount for the considerable barrel droop of the rifle. It is focused at infinity, so at 20 yards the picture is clear. At 10-12 yards is a bit blurry, but still usable. In spite of the power and quietness of the Nitro Venom its poor accuracy made me return it to Pyramid Air in exchange for a Ruger Yukon. I was able to sight-in the open sights and the scope in a couple hours. It is shooting groups less that 1” at 20 yd. from early on. Kudos to Pyramid Air for their help and for being so customer friendly.

    Things I liked:

I bought the .22 version on 9/13/13 Shipping was spot on, two days. Packing was great, box in a box with plenty of padding between the two. No damage. I have not shot it yet as I wanted to have the time to do it correctly. Will post more about that later.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing yet...

    What others should know:

As others have said, clean it. The barrel really needed a good cleaning, the outside just needed a wipe down. The "Muzzlebrake" isn't. It's just a plastic shroud that slips over the barrel. I took it off and find that the looks are better and the barrel end is crowned.

    Things I liked:

Very powerful, nice wood, nice bluing. I like the rubber butt pad, but hunters may not, because it can cause resistance when raising to shoulder for a quick shot. I like the way the safety works, but mine is a little off center, it favors a lefty. I'm a right hand shooter and the safety in almost flush with the trigger on that side. I'm getting use to it and hope I can adjust it. I have put about 50 rounds through it and it seem to be getting quieter but still loader than I had hoped. It is grouping very well at 10 yards, and when I put another 50-100 rounds through it, I will zero the scope. The scope is much better than I expected, after hearing the bad reviews of it. If your a $500-$1000 Leupold kinda person, then yeah, you can call it junk. For what it is, I think it's well made or I got lucky. The trigger is not great, but I think it is good for an airgun of this price. The trigger on my Chinese B-3, now that's bad. The first stage on this Crosman is at about 1/4", then the second stage is a little mushy and about 1/3" before it breaks. I haven't messed with the adjustment yet, but I feel no reason to buy a custom replacement right now. I think Crosman can make some improvements but, I am mostly pleased with this Air rifle so far.

    Things I would have changed:

I wish the trigger group and guard were made of metal and not plastic. If it's made of a polymer, great, but I think it's just cheap plastic and may break over time. It is very heavy. Heavier than a Ruger 10/22. I wanted to get the synthetic stock, but read that some guns broke at the mounting screws, when cocking, so I went with wood to be safe. The wood is nice, but very dull. I am thinking of getting some stock finishing oil for it. It also needs to have sling swivel mounts, but you can buy those after market, just get the one's with the wood screws, not machined and use the proper sized bit to start the hole. I also wish Crosman would start you out with a small bottle of the RMCoil. I had a few Crosmans as a kid and they all came with a bottle of oil to start you out. Just because the RMC cost a little more than the pellgun oil, is no excuse for not putting a sample in with the new guns. I mean, Heck, this gun retails for a couple hundred bucks at Crosman, I think they can afford it.

    What others should know:

More about the scope. Some of you have complained it's Blurry at the highest setting of 9x. Well, it's factory fixed parallax is at 15 yards. So, if your looking at something 30-40-50 yards away on 9, then yes it will be blurry. It is not an AO scope, but it can be adjusted. If you don't know what I mean by AO, or much about scopes in general, then I suggest not messing with it. If you shoot at 10-20 yards, then the factory setting is for you. If it's blurry, then you must focus it to your eye preference, at the ocular bell. That's the back end that you look through. Set the scope at the highest power 9x and then look at a target/image at about 15 yards. Turn the ring on the ocular bell in the direction of the little + positive until clear. If it gets clear and then blurry again, you went a little to far, just go back toward the -neg, till it's in the best focus for you. Now if you want to shoot 25-35 or even 40 yards, then you must reset the parallax. It's easy. On the Objective bell (that's the one furthest from you) there is a retaining cap. It unscrews counter clockwise. When it's off, you will see a ring along the rim of the inner tube. That's the parallax adjustment ring. Turning Clockwise will set it for farther parallax. Here's what you do. Set to 9x and then look at a target/image at the desired distance, say 40yds. Then, turn the adjustment ring, clockwise until the image is in focus. 1 full turn +/- should do it. Now put the cap back on hand tight. Simple fix.

    Things I liked:

    Value, quality of construction, accuracy.

    Things I would have changed:

Length of trigger's first stage pull. It would be nice if it were adjustable like the second stage, although the long pull is probably a result of product liability concerns these days.

    What others should know:

Pyramid Air's pricing, quick shipping, and great communications made this a pleasant purchasing experience. It arrived in perfect condition. The barrel was cleaned before shooting and the accuracy was very good right from the beginning. The scope seems nice at this price. I've put a few hundred rounds of Crosman Premier hollowpoints though it with zero issues. I bought this to compliment my old Crosman 1400 and hoped to have a second .22 air rifle my wife could shoot. Unfortunately, she has difficulty with the force needed to cock the Nitro Venom. It requires a firm pull so it might not be suitable for everyone.

    Things I liked:

Fairly well made, accurate, and a good value for the money. Some people complain about the scope but I find it does the job just fine. You just need to be sure it's properly mounted and sighted in.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger, trigger guard, and muzzle break are plastic.

    What others should know:

I chose the Nitro Venom because I wanted to shoot in my yard. Quietness was therefore very important. The first shots out of the box were LOUD! I was concerned. I read that it was best to clean it when new and that it would quiet down after some use. Cleaned it with a 22 cal cleaning rope, took it into my basement, and fired about 50 pellets into a 4"X6" wood block at point blank range, then took it outside again. Much better now - not nearly as loud and it seems to be getting even quieter with each shot.

    Things I liked:

I bought the 22 cal version and was impressed with the appearance quality of the stock and barrel. The first thing I did was gave it a thorough cleaning. Out of the box it had a lot of dust and the barrel was very dirty inside. I love everything about this nitro piston gun except the trigger but that can be fixing with a couple of extra dollars. The trigger is a non-issue to me. My wish is that Crosman make all their products in USA to create jobs, but I have to recognize that China is getting better in craftsmanship and we can not match the price if this gun was made in USA with this quality probably will cost a lot more. The rail is weaver instead of the dove tail which is an up-grade from Crosman and is a lot better. Important to the accuracy is the choice of pellet, you need to plan on experimenting with different pellets, here you have my best results, at 45 feet with any 15.9 gr. Crony 635 fps, 630 fps and 633 fps very stable and good performance, hit the bull eye is in the ability of each shooter, but it group about a quarter size (25 cents). The scope is fear, I do not going to review it due to there are many choices to up-grade.

    Things I would have changed:

Would like a shoulder strap for carrying

    What others should know:

In general is an excellent gun with smooth coking, shooting quick and quiet this gun is perfect for hunting rabbits, squirrels, and pigeons. And have fun in the backyard shooting soda cans.

    Things I liked:

Nice fit and appearance on mine (I understand that this can be hit or miss). Excellent accuracy at short ranges, deteriorates considerably at distances beyond 20 yards. For the money, this is an excellent value.

    Things I would have changed:

Instead of a junky scope, it should include iron sights. Especially at the distances this rifle is used. It would cost them nothing to supply a decent trigger, but they don't, despite everyone reporting the same problem with it, for years! Great price on this rifle, but plan on spending additional money on a scope, trigger, and possibly some crown work. It will still be a great value, but at some point, you're going to spend another $200 or settle for mediocrity. Spend the additional money, and you'll have a very impressive gun for under $400.

    What others should know:

The junky scope is really a problem. From reading the reviews of this gun, it is obvious that quality control is hit or miss on everything, and that includes the scope. If you are lucky, you'll get one that doesn't zero or adjust from the outset. Otherwise, you are likely to think "Hey, this scope isn't THAT bad!" and then after 50-100 shots, think that something is wrong with you, because you're all over the target. It's not you. Replace the scope first thing, and get one designed for airguns. The problem with the trigger was created by lawyers, as it is intended to enhance safety. In the real world, it just encourages you to void your warranty by getting a GRT or using the free trigger mods posted on YouTube. This can create a very sensitive trigger though, so be careful. And be sure you don't take out the wrong pin when modding your trigger or you'll be bashing your head against the wall. I get dime size groups at 15 yards, but they really start to open up at 20 yards and beyond. (I have the .22) Pellet choice makes a huge difference, and apparently this can vary like everything else with this gun. Mine likes JSB Jumbo Exact Domed, Crosman Premier Domed, and Predator Polymags. Doesn't care for any other Crosman. Check any pellet you try to see how it seats and how consistent the skirts are, as this seems to be what makes the difference. I'm going to look into having a swage made to see if that helps with accuracy.

First know the price range, $160. Gas piston ,wood stock, scope included (and NOT a cheapy ), accurate, what's not to like. I would buy it again and recommend with confidence.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe not change but add. Open sights and swivels to attach a shoulder sling.

    What others should know:

It won't have the detail, finish or accuracy of a $400+ air rifle (not fair to expect that). But it did surpass my expectations for a $160 air rifle.

    Things I liked:

First off the weapon .22 cal. is heavy compared to my Gamo Whisper .177. The noise level is slightly louder than the Whisper, but not by much. The rifle is very accurate, I used a rifle rest at 20 yards to zero the scope and it is dead on accurate. It took me about 10 rounds of Crosman hollow points to zero the rifle. The scope it came with is sufficient with that distance and I would say the scope will be just as good at greater distances as well. To cock the weapon is somewhat hard you literally have to slap the barrel to open it. My arm gets fatigued after about twenty rounds. Overall the weapon is easy on the eyes and shoots very well. I hope the cocking becomes easier as the rifle breaks in. The trigger for me is not bad at all, but that is just me. I don't think anyone would be disappointed if they should purchase it. Good job Crosman.

Excellent rifle. Nice wood finish. Great scope. I have only shot about 50 pellets through it and am getting half dollar groups at 20 yds. When it breaks in fully I should get tighter groups. Oh yeah the nitro piston is quiet and the power is definitely there. I have the .22 Cal.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

The scope that comes with the gun is great. Easy to sight in and stays on target. This package deal can't be beat. The trigger has a long pull but not as bad as I thought it would be. Packaging was excellent and arrived on time. Thanks Pyramyd Air!!

    Things I would have changed:

I like, but don't love the stock. It great for standing position but uncomfortable for kneeling, bench mount, and prone. I put the rifle on a Crosman g1 extreme stock to make an outstanding combo.

    Things I liked:

I like that this gun has a wood stock. The scope is pretty good, however, it should have a bigger objective. It is fairly easy to cock, and pretty quiet. It does have ambidextrous safety and cheekpieces, which is a plus for lefties. This rifle is very accurate, shooting a 1/2 in. group at 50 yds. This gun doesn't have much external plastic, only the trigger guard and muzzlebrake.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger guard should be made of metal. I like the coating on the muzzlebrake because it prevents blisters. The scope should have a bigger objective, maybe 40mm. The trigger isn't very good, not a very clean break.

    What others should know:

The first 100 shots are sometimes inaccurate. Be sure to clean this gun before you shoot it! the barrel, internally and externally, was very dirty on mine. My hands were black after handling it for the first time. When you open up the crosman box the gun is in, be sure to find the scope accesories, the allen wrench supplied is the only one that I could find that fit the scope mount screws snuggly.
