The Hawke Airmax 30 WA 4-16x50 SF AMX IR 10x Mil-Dot Scope is specifically engineered to work with the unique qualities of airguns. It provides superior results because it has a 30mm aluminum mono-tube and a 50mm objective lens. The H2 optics system on this scope has 16 layer fully multi-coated lenses and gives shooters 4" eye relief and a wide field of view for ease of use.
The lenses in the optics package yield sharp and defined views regardless of poor weather or low light because they are waterproof, fog proof, nitrogen purged, and shockproof. The capped target turrets can be adjusted in a 27 MRAD range for windage and elevation using 1/10 MRAD clicks, and fine-tuning is simple with the fast focus eyebell.
The second focal plane (SFP) mil-dot reticle uses etched glass, and red illumination can be enabled in six different levels of intensity, with off positions between each level. The spacing is accurate at the 10x magnification setting, with aim points 1 mil apart out to 5 mil on all the vertical and horizontal lines, plus hollow posts with mil spacing for bracketing past the aim points. The bottom includes horizontal bars every 1 mil starting at .5 mil that further divide the first portion of the bottom vertical line for long-distance shooting.
The package includes accessories that enhance the features of the scope and items to maintain its performance, such as a 4" sunshade, 4" sidewheel, hex key, CR2032 battery, lens cloth, metal flip-up lens covers with flip-up removal tool, instruction manual, scope alignment booklet, and reticle booklet. The optics on this scope are excellent! Bright, clear images even at 16X. Wide field of view. No haziness or softness or images, even out to the edge of the field, like I have seen in lesser scopes. Nice etched reticle with a Christmas tree that makes shooting at long distances on windy days more pleasurable. Half mildot hatch marks are also a plus. No slop in the focus turret, and the focus snaps into view very crisply. The scope come with a 4" focus wheel and 4" screw on glare shield. The scope seems to be robust, which for me is great, since I have this scope mounted on a FAC Air Arms TX200. The elevation, windage, and focus turrets are a bit tight, but stay put without a locking mechanism. When I click the windage and elevation turrets, the change in POI is immediate, not requiring the traditional wrap of a knuckle on the turret to get the windage or elevation to change. Great scope for Hunter Field Target or pest control. I didn't have to spend $1,000 for a quality scope!
Things I would have changed:The turrets do require some torque to get them to turn (not a big deal, since this tightness causes them to stay put). The focus turret is a bear to turn without the supplied 4" wheel, so plan on using the 4" wheel, which makes focusing much easier.
What others should know:I am using this scope on a Air Arms TX200, which I use in Hunter field target competition (and occasional pesting). It replaces a Leapers 4-16X56 mm scope, which finally went wonky after 20,000 shots. I looked at a number of scopes, and nothing had all the features of this scope at this price point.

Great scope with a wide field of view and very good glass for the money. Illuminated reticle is of excellent quality on the lowest setting it is ideal for night use.
Things I would have changed:Cant think of anything, very good quailty scope.
What others should know:DURABLE. Have had this mounted on a Gamo Mag Hunter Extreme Pro .22 and it has withstood around 15k shots so far. This rifle is almost a 30 fpe gas piston gun so this scope is made WELL.
