Actually, I have no scientific data to prove rap artists prefer the Echo1 Platinum M4, but according to all the rap & hip hop songs I listen to, it sure seems likely, given the number of times I've heard someone mention platinum chains, platinum grills, a platinum chalice, platinum records, etc in a rap song.  As it turns out, I happen to prefer the Echo1 Platinum M4 AEG over most other AEGs as well.  Today's entry on the 3X award-winning Pyramyd Airsoft Blog details a bit of why I prefer it.

Umarex HK MP5 A5 Performance Test

If you're not up to speed on the Umarex HK MP5 A5 Electric Blowback SMG, check out the first part of my review here: Umarex HK MP5 A5 Electric Blowback SMG Review - Part I

NOW...Here is a little video illustrating why I'm totally on board with this Airsoft SMG and am happy to have it in my arsenal.

When I first set eyes on the Umarex H&K MP5 A5 Tac Electric Blowback Rifle (EBBR) in person a month or two ago, I realized a month or two ago that I've never really dealt with an MP5 on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog here. This one was so visually and physically impressive, that I figured I would check it out, in case any of you wonderful readers out there were in the market for a high quality MP5.

So before I get too deep into the features of the H&K MP5 A5 Tac EBBR, I'd like to take a moment to talk about the actual manufacturer that Umarex partnered with on this one. Top Tech is a relatively little known brand, at least here in the states. It does not get as much time as I think it deserves in the spotlight as its more affordable counterpart, Guay Guay, or best known as G&G. Top Tech is G&G's high end line of airsoft guns and nothing short of impressive. I recall my first encounter with the Top Tech product line at Shot Show 2011. I was at the G&G booth and picked up one of the rifles they had on their wall, thinking it was just a standard G&G M4, but this one had significantly more weight to it, with a much more solid build than I was expecting from a regular G&G rifle. When I asked their staff about it, they informed me that it was a Top Tech blowback M4. Boom. First impression: mind blown. It was really nice, as were the rest of the guns in the Top Tech line. So this MP5 being a Top Tech as well comes as no surprise.

Enough jibber jabber. Check out the features of the Umarex H&K MP5 A5 Tac EBBR after the jump...

Here's a super quick review of the upcoming KWA M4 CQR series AEGs, which have the same great quality of the regular KWA AEGs, but feature a polymer lower receiver.  This helps to not only cut down on the weight of the gun a bit, but especially helps to cut down on the price of the gun.  The KWA KRISS Vector also makes a little appearance because I said so.  Check out the video to get the full scoop.

While at the Cybergun booth at Shot Show 2012, I took a quick peak at the new FN Herstal P90 Airsoft AEG, which is going to be made by King Arms.  While I'm personally not a fan of the P90 aesthetics, I do respect the opinions of the many P90 fans out there and can tell you from an unbiased point of view, that if you like P90s, this one should be pretty nice.  King Arms makes a nice gun.  Don't let that new Nylon Fiber body throw you.  The gun I held in the video seemed to be very well built.  Nothing felt cheap or poor quality about it.

Yesterday on the Pyramyd Airsoft Facebook Page, I asked our growing fan base what they'd like me to talk about on the blog today, and one fan, Mr. Ken Janelle, Jr. from Middleburg Florida, simply replied, "Me"  So I said, "Sure, why not?"

So I asked Ken what gun from Pyramyd Air he'd like me to discuss here on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog and he replied that the Bravo RDW was of particular interest to him.

This was an excellent choice on Ken's part for a few reasons, but primarily because the RDW is a sick looking gun.  But we'll get to that in a minute.  Let's talk about Ken.  First of all, we're a big fan of Ken because he's a fan of us (on our new Facebook Page).  Did I mention we have one?

So anyway, here's a little Player Spotlight on Ken for ya:

Ken also asked to hear a bit more about the Bravo RDW, which is available from Pyramyd Air.

Therefore, after the jump, I have provided some intel on that very gun...

I literally just received an email with the deets on the new AEG that Echo1 has been hinting at over the last few days. Some of you may have seen the picture of a dismantled AEG sitting on Brian Holt's workbench on some of the news sites out there and there has been speculation that it was just another G36 or something.

Well, this new Echo1 airsoft gun definitely has some G36-ness in it, but that's not all. Check out the new Pyramyd Airsoft Facebook page to check out the unique new concept my homies at E1 have come up with...

So I was asked to check out the Gameface AK-47 Airsoft AEG and then provide my honest thoughts, which can be a very dangerous thing to do with me because I usually have no issues about cutting the crap and giving a no-B.S.* Assessment. *By "B.S.," I of course mean Bologna Sandwich. I prefer Roast Beef Sandwiches.

Also, a message to the trolls: neither Pyramyd Air, Dave Bakholdin, nor Tom Harris Media condones the consumption of alcohol before or during the operation of weapons, whether they be Airsoft or actual firearms.  That would be poor decision-making on both our part for condoning it and on yours for doing it.  The Russian flask was simply used as a prop because it looks flippin' awesome under studio lighting and went along with the theme of the famous Russian assault rifle replica featured here on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog
