A&K M60VN Airsoft Machine Gun FTW (Finally)

After resolving the trigger switch issue I created during the process of my A&K M60VN Airsoft Machine Gun Review, General Beauregard & I took the A&K M60VN Airsoft Machine Gun back out for another range test, this time with a slightly heavier spring under the hood to push those rounds downrange a bit further.

Luckily, this gun features a quick-change spring release lever so that you can easily increase or decrease the velocity of the gun in about five easy minutes.

I also used high quality, Elite Force .25g BBs to assist me with increasing the accuracy of the gun.

While the M60VN hardly needs an introduction, we may have some new people joining us for the first time. This particular Airsoft light machine gun is manufactured by A&K and is a replica of the early M60 machine gun design, which is a belt-fed support weapon utilizing 7.62x51mm NATO rounds made world-famous by none other than the United States military. The A&K Airsoft LMG used the designation "VN" which probably stands for Vietnam and likely represents a reference to the war in which this variation of the M60 is most well-known for.  I could be way off here, but I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest.  Have I done a lot any Google searching to see if anyone else has clarified this matter with facts, one way or the other?  That'd be a "heck no."

Anyway, The A&K M60VN is certainly no chump.  It's a full metal Airsoft light machine gun, though "light" has nothing to do with the weight of the gun.  It's not as heavy as the Echo1 M240 Bravo, which clocks in just under 20 lbs, fully loaded up with roughly 4,000 BBs, but it's definitely not going to be a super high-speed Magpul'd-out M4 CQB rifle either.  Perhaps if you play your cards right, I'll throw this beast on my baby Airsoft gun scale and see what she officially tips the scales at.

Overall, I'd say this item is a must-have for any serious Airsoft player with a desire to collect iconic and eye-catching Airsoft guns for their Airsoft arsenal.  However, like the real M60, the Airsoft M60VN is not without its design flaws.  Nothing that would prohibit me from recommending this guns to anyone, but flaws nonetheless.  All this, and more, will be clarified after the jump...

Yesterday on the Pyramyd Airsoft Facebook Page, I asked our growing fan base what they'd like me to talk about on the blog today, and one fan, Mr. Ken Janelle, Jr. from Middleburg Florida, simply replied, "Me"  So I said, "Sure, why not?"

So I asked Ken what gun from Pyramyd Air he'd like me to discuss here on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog and he replied that the Bravo RDW was of particular interest to him.

This was an excellent choice on Ken's part for a few reasons, but primarily because the RDW is a sick looking gun.  But we'll get to that in a minute.  Let's talk about Ken.  First of all, we're a big fan of Ken because he's a fan of us (on our new Facebook Page).  Did I mention we have one?

So anyway, here's a little Player Spotlight on Ken for ya:
