KWA HK MP7 Gas Blowback Submachine Gun at Insight Interactive Airsoft CQB
Tom Harris for the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog
In this installment of my Airsoft Player Spotlight series, we hear from Ryan "Irish" Pieper.  Ryan is currently a member of the Battletoads CQB Gang in Southern California and plays frequently at Insight Interactive Airsoft CQB Arena in Rancho Cucamonga, California.  As you will see in the video, Ryan prefers the KWA H&K MP7 Submachine Gun as his primary weapon of choice, and the KWA ATP GBB Pistol as his secondary. Interesting that they are both KWA airsoft guns

While at Shot Show 2012, Mike from KWA USA gives me the rundown on the new KWA ATP Auto GBB Pistol, which is the full-auto version of the highly awesome semi-auto ATP, along with a heads up on their new, original issue WWII-era M1911 GBB and last, but certainly not least, the new and ultra sexy, KWA Makarov gas blowback pistol. They surprised me with that one. Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but I did not know they'd be dropping that one on us. It was pretty awesome. Here's the video:

Got a real treat for you.  There's 35 pounds of stuff.  Literally, because I weighed it on my Airsoft Gun/Baby Scale in the video.  Check out my massive Airsoft unboxing video after the jump...

As it turns out, I find myself increasingly attracted to the KRISS Vector series of submachine guns.

So I thought instead of just being increasingly attracted to it, I would also tell people that I'm increasingly attracted to it here on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog.  Thus, I dug up some old photos from my fantastical adventures with my brother, Todd, at Shot Show 2011 back in January of this year to reminisce about the initial introduction between the KRISS Super V Vector submachine gun and I at the KWA Performance Industries Booth, which was conveniently located just across the aisle from the actual KRISS Systems booth, so as to allow me to go back and forth between the two, breathing heavily the glass display cases, the booth staff and the guns themselves, all with stale breath composed primarily of the odors from several meals at Chipotle and massive amounts of booze consumed during the prior evenings adventures at various adult beverage establishments throughout the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.  I did try brushing my teeth and using Listerine to help mask my activities, but when you combine the awesome powers of Chipotle and delicious Fat Tire ale on tap from a sweet Irish pub in the New York New York, it's nearly impossible to combat such forces.

I would like to issue a delayed apology to the KWA and KRISS/SPHINX/DEFIANCE staff who had to endure my foul, hot-garbage breath.  I'd especially like to apologize to the KRISS Vector guns I fondled while breathing said hot-garbage breath on them, as well as the beautiful SPHINX pistols and DEFIANCE suppressors.

I hope they'll forgive me and just chalk it up to "good times in The Vegas."

So anyway,

For the few of you that read my blog, but don't keep up with the first-person shooter gaming circuit, the KRISS Vector became rather popular among the gaming & Airsoft crowd when the French-designed, Swiss-made submachine gun appeared in the super extra popular video game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as one of the weapon options players could use to "pwn" other players while streaming live game play over a LAN or Wi-Fi internet connection, using audio headphones equipped with microphones.  These headsets allow COD gamers to taunt either their friends or total strangers somewhat anonymously using harsh words against the other's mothers, sisters, and/or favorite Catholic priests after "killing" the opponent using the KRISS Vector SMG.  Good clean fun for the whole family.  I should note that it was not the beautifully precision-engineered Vector which caused these individuals to behave this way (The Swiss like to keep it in neutral).  It was probably Eminem, Marilyn Manson, R-Rated Movies and/or Satan himself that convince these individuals to say things that would make Charles Manson blush.  Probably a combination of all four.  It was definitely NOT the result of poor or non-existent parenting.  That's never the case.

So with that tiny background blurb, check out my KRISS photo update to see why so many people, including Airsoft bloggers like me, think this submachine gun is so groovy.

So here's the video footage from my visit to KWA last week. Mike Hou takes us through the many features of their newest prototypes for the KWA HK45 gas blowback pistol, RM4A1 Electric Recoil Gun (ERG) and also gives us a quick update on their LM4 Magpul edition. Oh yea, that sexy lil' KWA ATP makes a cameo in there as well.

Dang, it feels good to be a gangster.

The Pyramyd Air website got a face lift!!!

new pyramyd air website, airsoft guns, pyramyd airsoft blog, airsoft news,

For those of you, like me, that are allergic to change of any kind, there's good news. You can still access the old version of the website at Pyramyd Air. The new layout is still in the "Beta testing" phase, so in order to see it, you'll have to go to the following url for the time being: /airsoft.  Truth be told, I'm actually pretty happy about the change.  I think the new site is much more navigable and user-friendly.

After the jump, I've discussed some of the new or updated features that I appreciate or think are cool, plus a sneak peak at the new KWA guns and updates for other manufacturers on new goodies that I've got lined up to show you... CLICK HERE

Introducing (sort of)...
the KWA ATP (Adaptive Training Pistol)
KWA ATP, Adaptive Training Pistol, SC Viper Airsoft MOUT, KWA USA, KWA Pistol, Gas Blowback Pistol, Airsoft Glock Pistol, KWA Glock, Airsoft Guns, Pyramyd Airsoft Blog, Airsoft Blog, Airsoft Obsessed,
Long story short: I got to take some pictures of the new KWA ATP.  As if having the privilege of attending the grand opening of the world's hottest new Airsoft MOUT facility, SC Viper (Click for my review & photo gallery), wasn't enough, I was able to sweet talk Michael Hou, hot shot (literally) sales rep for KWA USA, to be my battle buddy during my maiden voyage on the field. I won't lie. I lucked out that he was there, because other than Giant Airsoft's new director, Jet Del Castillo, I didn't expect to know anyone there. I rolled out solo that day, like a one-man wolf pack roaming the desert looking for strip...oh wait, nevermind.

Anywho, after we got done owning it on the field (mostly Mike, not so much me until later in the day), I convinced Mr. Hou to let me snap a few shots of the new and yet-to-be-available-for-resale, Glock-based Adaptive Training Pistol aka the ATP, which he was using as his Airsoft sidearm during the game because you can do that when you're Mike Hou from KWA.  After procuring clearance from HQ (aka THE Allen "Allizard" Lau) that all details of the ATP therein were de-classified, he relinquished control of his not-yet-released Airsoft piece so that I could let my camera have some fun. And let me tell you, my 6mm sidekicks, my camera and I had a blasty blast (10 points if you can guess who says "blasty blast" other than me).

Although I hold him in very high regard, I thought about trying to over-power Mike and taking off with the ATP to keep all for myself, but I'm pretty sure he was ready to deliver a swift strike to my jaw with ninja-like precision and the help of a concealed auto-baton if I tried any shenanigans with the pride of KWA's new GBB pistol releases for 2011.  Aside from that, I've seen a bit of what he can do to manipulate a real firearm and, therefore, the risk-assessment module of my brain issued a warning that I should probably just mind my P's and Q's.

Long and wordy story short, this is a special feature on the Glock-based KWA ATP.  I hope you don't hate it.
