Today, I'm going to talk dirty a lil bit 'bout the new RedStar AMD-65 AK from Echo1 USA. But first, a few disclaimers.

Disclaimer A) Yes, I know that I already used these photos in a prior blog where I was showing off the new MadBull PBS Mock Suppressors I got. But I was actually having a heck of a time getting the stock flash hider back on the rifle and didn't see the point in re-shooting AND editing the same images when I already had perfectly good shots already done and done.

Disclaimer B) I realize that if this were a real firearm, I'd have the wrong suppressor on there for that particular caliber rifle. Well guess what? This is not a real firearm. This is an Airsoft rifle and I thought it looked cool so go ahead and "shut your mouth when you're talking to me!" (name the movie)

Disclaimer C) I realize that for a proper review, illustrating the way the gun actually looks when you pull it from the box would require me to put the flash hider back on this rifle. BUT, since I opted not to reshoot these pics as noted in Disclaimer A), I didn't have any shots of the rifle in this configuration. Secondly, I was having a heck of a time getting the flash hider to thread properly on the end of the rifle and got impatient, so I said, "Dash it all!" and decided to forego any pictures with the flash hider properly installed.

Alright. That's all the disclaimers I've got for now. The actual review of the Echo1 AMD-65 AK begins after the jump...

In case you haven't heard, or you chose to ignore my title, Ares is going to make a sweet new sniper rifle.  But before we get to that, let us gaze upon the glory that is the new SOCOM Gear Hitman M9.
Pardon my horrific failure to focus the subject.  I would love to blame Simon from MadBull who was holding the gun at the time, but if I was a good enough photog, that wouldn't have mattered.  Oh well.
The slide reads, "no women, no kids."
The lower frame reads, "MADE IN HELL BY SOCOMGEAR.  READ MANUAL BEFORE USE."
Simon had a few other things to show me.  Licensed Spikes Tactical goodies among them, along with Lancer & Troy magazines, which were pretty unique and pretty cool.

Here is where I draw the line.  You wanna see that beautiful new Ares MSR?
You gotta click that link, dawg.  It awaits you after the jump.

MadBull Airsoft was kind enough to send me some pre-production samples of their new PBS mock suppressors or barrel extensions, and my my, aren't they breathtaking!   Even for pre-production samples, these things may as well be the final production versions.  The CNC machine work on them is outstanding.  In case you weren't aware, the PBS suppressors were originally designed for use with AK47 or variants thereof (Commie gunz!), but with the Airsoft versions having 14mm negative (Counter-Clockwise) threading, you can put them on whatever compatible guns you want!  But be wise with your choice.  Not all guns were created equal.
The model on the left is the MadBull PBS-04 AK Mock Suppressor and the model on the right is the MadBull PBS-01 AK Mock Suppressor.  They each feature a combination of smooth and textured finishes and are machined from high quality T-6061 aluminum.

They are hollow inside and feature MadBull's patented internal design which allows them to meet BATFE's approval.  The samples I was sent were very solid, possessing a pretty good amount of weight, each weighing a bit over 1lb, but the fine folks at MadBull have informed me that the final versions will be much lighter.  As you'll see below, I've already tested them out on my Beta Project Magpul AK and didn't find the weight to be an issue for me (and believe me, I'm far from being hulked out or otherwise in shape).

While I was visiting the SS Airsoft CQB Facility for their 2 Year Anniversary Extravaganza at the end of March this year, I sat down for a one-to-one chat with "Walker, Georgia Ranger," who is one of the stars of the SS Airsoft CQB YouTube Channel.  Walker asks some tough questions of me during the interview, which was pretty ballsy considering the fact that I was wielding his Elite Force 1911 CO2 Pistol (which also happened to have a Mad Bull Whisper .45ACP Mock Suppressor Attached), during the entire interview.

MadBull Noveske Barrel Review
- Silver Matte 10.5" CQB AEG Outer Barrel -

Well, folks. I think I'm going to let the brand new MadBull Noveske CQB Barrel do most of the talking here, but I will fill you in on a few details to get you started. First off, the Noveske 10.5" CQB Barrel is a brand new bull barrel in a brand new series of silver matte anodized aluminum barrels from MadBull Airsoft. As you can obviously see from the image to the right, MadBull will be offering up their attractive barrels in a multitude of lengths so as to allow us dreamers a seemingly endless array of options with which we can enjoy these barrels with. Whether you want to put together a long-range competition rifle of an M16-length, or if you want to go with the extra compact option for close quarter purposes, they've got you covered. Whether we're talking about configuring sexy new Airsoft gun or having to choose between standing up or sitting down when I use the W.C. (sometimes, in the middle of the night when I'm pretty much still asleep, I prefer to sit). I love having multiple options available to choose from rather than feeling like I'm stuck with one way or the highway.

Speaking of options, you now have the option of feasting your eyes on a close up of the stamped markings of my new Noveske Silver Matte CQB Barrel.

Also clearly visible are the 14mm threads which will allow the owner of said barrel to attach just about any flash hider or mock suppressor they so choose. Quite frankly, I'd absolutely LOVE to see what this new barrel looks like with one of MadBull's new Surefire quick-detach mock suppressors that they released at Shot Show 2011 this year. In case you missed the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog report where I first laid eyes on their incredibly gorgeous cans, you can now see that here: GATOR NEEDS HIS (Echo1) GAT, you punk-ass B#$@*!!!. Granted, there are numerous other flash hiders & suppressors out there that would also look great here, but lately, I've had my heart set on one of those new Surefire suppressors.

So, as you probably saw above, all the new Noveske Silver Matte Barrels come with a Gas Block with Noveske logo on the front, plus the Gas Tube to go along with it.

This Noveske logo on the Gas Block is a nice touch, in my book. Plus, I like that the black adds a bit of contrast to the otherwise all silver barrel.

I've actually been wanting a silver barrel for quite sometime and now those Airsoft dreams have become an Airsoft reality.

In this next shot, I just wanted to illustrate that there is a small retention pin that you'll need to install in the gas block when attaching your new Noveske barrel to your favorite AEG, assuming your favorite AEG is compatible here. If your favorite AEG is a G36 or something, then you'll need to pick your next favorite AEG that falls into the M4/M16 category. Anyway, here's the pin, just chillin'; waiting to be inserting into its new home in the Noveske barrel's gas block...

Just to cover all the angles (literally), I thought I'd show you a shot from behind (cuz who doesn't love those?) of Madbull's new Noveske CQB barrel.  You're looking at the the gas tube resting on the top portion of the barrel.  This is the end that will attach to your AEG body's upper receiver.

Now, since I know there's a few people that like it from the side, here's a side shot of my new Noveske 10.5-inch CQB Barrel...

Earlier (like one or two paragraphs ago), I mentioned attaching this outer barrel to an AEG that you highly favor.  Well, I figured, just in case you wonderful readers out there want to see what it looks like when you combine an awesome Airsoft AEG with this sexy Noveske silver matte bull barrel who's molten aluminum metal material is rumored to have been mixed with Adonis DNA** just like Charlie Sheen, I plan to provide you with just such a visualization as soon as my new gun arrives (hopefully this week).  Rest assured, as I don't believe in putting Ferrari parts in a KIA (or vice versa), I will not be putting this new Noveske eye candy on some ol' hunk-o-junk AEG.

**I haven't been able to confirm that tiny little detail just yet, but this barrel looks SOOO hot, I have to imagine there being some truth to the rumor.

Hold on to your forks, because this was just the main course.  I've got some Airsoft Dessert on its way featuring my new Noveske 10.5" CQB Barrel and this next time, it shall be paired with an AEG from VFC on an equally legitimate level of winning.  I would like to thank MadBull for allowing me be blessed by their new barrel's presence in advance of its release to the public and would also like to thank Airsoft for being my ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
