You’re On Private Property
Have you ever heard these words coming through the woods;
- “What do you think you’re doing because you’re on private property!”
- “Get off my land before I call the law!”
- “Didn’t you see the no trespassing sign?”
Or even worse, a bullet flying by? How do you know whose property you are on anyway? Have you ever found yourself trespassing without knowing and needed help finding your way back.
Established Boundaries
Sometimes it’s easy to identify the property lines, if there’s a fence or a clear property line established such as painted trees or consistent no trespassing signs. While other times, there are no established property lines in any fashion because the trees don’t change color for each piece of property, nor the size of the grass blades. It can be extremely easy to find yourself in a tough situation and see no way out.
Maybe you have never heard of ONX and you purchased a bow for the upcoming hunting season. Do you have plans to scout or just stalk, because if you do, you may want to read on because Bear Archery has partnered with ONX Maps to lead the way. What does that mean? With every purchase of the compound bows listed below, you’ll get a three month free trial of ONX Maps.

What Is ONX Maps Anyway?
If you’re not sure what ONX is, it’s an app that allows you to see exactly where you are on your hunting or hiking adventures. You can see the property lines on private and public land. Maybe you’ve done some scouting and have found the main buck highways full of scrapes, rubs and tracks. If so, you’ll want to know this; it allows you to mark the map so you know where to return. There are multiple icons available to mark tracks, sightings, success, etc…
If you’re the type of person that doesn’t think they’ll ever get lost or find yourselves in a bad spot, literally, either you’re well trained and have proven you’re a skilled navigator or you’re too proud to admit otherwise. If you’re venturing out and are the latter, it’d pay off to invest in ONX because the cost may be greater than you would expect.
If you already have a bow and don’t need one, you can still attain this app. If you’re bow shopping, I think we’ve narrowed your choice down a little, type in the search bar Bear Archery, then you get to decide which one is best for you.

Whose Responsibility?

With that information on each one, it should help you at least to lean in one direction or the other. If you’re planning an adventure whether it’s bow hunting or hiking, be sure to have the appropriate equipment to keep you out of tight spots because I can’t stress enough how easy it is to get lost.
It is your responsibility to know whose land you are on. If you find yourself trespassing, what happens to you is all in the hands of the landowner or game warden. I have a gut feeling, you’d rather make the decisions about your well being, than a fed up land owner or game warden, so get equipped with Bear Archery and ONX!
