- Summary
Today we’ll look at more new stuff from the SHOT Show 2025. We’ll start at the Xisico booth.
Xisico
Xisico had many new things to see. They weren’t as far along as Air Venturi with new airguns, but they were way ahead of everyone on pellets. Let’s start there.
The new pellets from JTS are almost overwhelming!
David from Xisico gave me a sheet that covers what I hope are all the pellets they offer right now. There are 32 entries on the sheet, but half are just bulk amounts of the same pellets offered in retail tins. That probably means sleeves of tins.
There are 16 different tins of pellets in calibers .177, .22 and .25. And one of those tins contains a .30 caliber dome. David told me there will be a .30 caliber slug joining the lineup later this year.
He said I could select any of the ones on the sheet for testing, and you know I will! Sorry, guys, but you’re in for another round of accuracy tests this year!
An airgun with no name
Then David directed me to a precharged pneumatic (PCP) that is so new it hasn’t been given a name yet! I told him it belongs in the scabbard of the saddle of the Horse With No Name (song by America). He told me they were toying with the title No Name, similar to the PCP that’s called No Toes!
The Xisico PCP that has yet to be named. As soon as I know anything I’ll inform you.
JTS Comp 100 compressor
The last Xisico item I’ll mention is a new-ish small water-cooled compressor called the JTS Comp 100. He told me his office has been using one for about a year and filling both guns and tanks with no problems.
David spent a lot of time telling me about this compressor. It’s not brand new, but it is recent.
When someone tells me a certain air compressor is reliable, I listen. This one runs on 110/220/12 volts, has a programable auto-stop and comes with a built-in moisture filter. It also has a grease reservoir that is similar to the oil found in larger compressors. And it fills to 6200 psi! You can see the size.
For those on the dark side, compressors are essential. Pyramyd AIR retails this one for $830, so it’s not exactly inexpensive, but it’s not a science experiment, either. You don’t need a bucket of cold water to cool it. I am intrigued!
Leapers — again
Ian wanted to talk with the reps at the Leapers’ booth so I went along for the ride. As I was speaking to Jesse from Leapers, he asked me if airgunners would be interested in scope mounts that droop 20, 30 and 40 MOA. Would they! Are you kidding? Do children like candy?
Three drooper rings for 30mm scopes. They have a 20, 30 and 40 MOA droop.
Please don’t ask me which rings are which in the photo. I could not tell until Jesse pointed out the numbers etched into the bottom of each mount.
This is how you tell which UTG drooper mount you have.
Leapers wondered why airgunners were not noticing these mounts. I told Jesse I didn’t know they existed. This is a scope mount I HAVE to test for you because, regardless of your airgun powerplant, they ALL droop! I have a very cool test planned for these!
Airgun hunter Jim Chapman had the same reaction as I had to these. And he is planning a prairie dog hunt that means shots past 100 yards.
People don’t appreciate that firearm rifles also droop. I have had to show AR-15 shooters on the range why they could not get their rifle zeroed at 100 yards because their scope elevation was adjusted all the way up, and the erector tube was floating. We airgunners are ahead of the pack on this one.
These rings come in both 30 mm and 34 mm tube sizes. There are no one-inch rings in this configuration.
Umarex again
I saw these pistols on day one, but I saved them until mow. First up is the Umarex Markpoint.
Umarex Markpoint breakbarrel pellet pistol. Note the grip safety.
The Markpoint is a .177-caliber breakbarrel spring-piston pistol that debuted at the 2025 SHOT Show. It has a rifled barrel and a barrel that’s longer than 9 inches! But the rear sight is not adjustable, nor should you expect one with Pyramyd AIR’s retail price of just $35. RidgeRunner — hoot mon! Ye canna’ get another this cheap! It’s rated at around 300 f.p.s. with light lead pellets.
Whatcha think, guys? Is this another dart pistol, too?
Umarex Avera
The Avera is a CO2 pellet pistol with a rotary magazine and CO2 holder in the grip. I believe I heard the retail will be $50. This pistol does not have a grip safety.
Umarex Avera.
Last word
That’s my SHOT Show report for now. You may wonder why I wait to report on things.
Many other websites seem to “scoop” me by months. I learned years ago that when I report on something you guys want to buy it right then, and there are many more times the number of you than of those reading other websites. I held off reporting on the Skout PCP a couple years ago that they told me would be available in June. They just didn’t specify June of which year and past experience told me to wait.
Sometimes things I do report on never come to market because of patent infringements. So I’ve learned to drag my feet most of the time.
Summary
This year’s SHOT Show was a breath of fresh air. The players have changed a bit but they always do. I’d say we have a great year ahead of us!
“…So I’ve learned to drag my feet most of the time.”
BB,
That explanation in “Last word” is understood and much appreciated; thank you! 🙂
Blessings to you,
dave
And then there is the “Pre-Order” problem. It could take another year to receive it. No big deal unless you prepaid with Papal. Some turn out to be worth it because once all the pre-orders ship, you could wait another year for a second shipment. unless they drop it. Mostly Airsoft.
Seems like some new air guns today perform much like something that already exists in a different shape. Upgraded perhaps.
We had an awful lot of new airguns, innovations and accessories come out in ‘The Golden Age of Air Guns”
There are still a lot of guns to be replicated as BB / pellet airguns. Hint, hint !
But now that I think about it, most of the popular ones already are
Lookin at those two Umarex pistols I once more realized that Artemis/Snowpeak must be the largest airguns manufacturer.
Bill,
I intentionally stopped at the Snowpeak booth but nothing was seen. The folks there didn’t speak good English and we did not discover anything.
BB
BB
This doesn’t surprise me at all. They’re the manufacturer of the products for at least two main names, Air Venturi and Umarex. It would be bad for their business relationships to present the original,if not some more, products. Obviously they were there just for the show.
Bill,
I’m not certain but I think they also make some of the Diana pistols.
Doc
Doc you are absolutely right.
B.B.
Sounds like a lot of good stuff was at this year’s show!
Were there any new scopes?
-Yogi
Yogi,
Other than the Integrix 6-36 I have already mentioned I saw nothing. I stopped at the Hawke booth, but was disappointed.
There might have been something somplace I didn’t stop, but I did not see anything new.
BB
B.B.
If they could find a way for the Umarex Markpoint to shoot suction cup darts they would have a BIG winner!! Let’s be honest, it is a toy. Us big kids love toys! Toys sell in the millions….
-Yogi
Yogi,
I like the looks of them. But, speaking of toy, they remind me of the Nintendo Blaster back in the day LOL.
Doc
I cannot really say that I am that impressed by what BB and Ian has shown us this time around. I would like to upgrade my Texan LSS with the new fore stock and valve, the bell target might be of some interest around here (I’ll have to ask the “old gals”) and I just might like to get my hands on one of those Micro Strikes to try out, but otherwise…
Now, if BB was to try out one of those OmniStorms, that would be OK, most especially if it has a halfway decent trigger and is indeed from the ROC and not one of Uncle Xi’s buddies. At this price, I am not going to hold my breath though. To think this is even close to what the HW90 is…
BB, part of me is intrigued with the Markpoint and I do indeed like the grip safety, but for the fact that I have a bunch of antique air pistols to work on now and one of those is an old Webley Junior, I have no need or desire for a plastic dart pistol.
You have indeed captured my attention with some of the new offerings out there, but as for my spending money on these “latest and greatest”, I will be one of those who sits back a bit and waits and sees what shakes out of the tree.
Thanks for bringing us to the show BB!
It’s always good to see what’s new in the airgun world.
Hank
That Evanix so far not named No Name PCP is a handsome looking one – of course FM would have to wait for your test or some other credible tester’s before considering a purchase; it is made in Republic of Korea so no issue over propping up Uncle Xi’s economy by acquiring one. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the potential future, B.B.
FawltyManuel,
ROK?
Not certain of any ROK involvement: https://xisicousa.com/about-us/
shootski
PS: Can’t find proof of country of manufacture hope you are correct that it is ROK.
“Googled” Evanix – because thought that was the brand behind this rifle, and this is the website that popped up, shootski. So FM either associated the wrong brand with the rifle or someone at SHOT Show did when speaking with Tom. The photo caption in the blog refers to the gun as an “Evanix.”
https://evanix.com/
So it appears the error has been corrected and the PCP is a Xisico product. That’s disappointing but Evanix seems to have some offerings of interest to FM.
FawltyManuel,
That Link you posted is one of the web pages i visited as well.
I was going mostly basing my questioning on the design Cues that the Evanix line has had for decades. I especially noticed the barrel band (which i consider over wrought) is not at all typical of Evanix rifles.
Is Xisico actually a contraction of: Xi’s (Jinping) Invasive Company that uses a jined up de-Pinger?
shootski
Could be, shootski. That thought actually entered FM’s hollow head. Now that we’ve experienced the “Deepseek” fiasco, FM is even more determined to do as much as possible NOT to help “benevolent Uncle’s” economy. This is not to be seen as a criticism of anyone who chooses to go in another direction.
FawltyManuel,
I hope this doesn’t sound all to conspiratorial but…
“Long before the ban, DeepSeek acquired a “substantial stockpile” of Nvidia A100 chips – estimates range from 10,000 to 50,000 – according to the MIT Technology Review.”
The previous administration waited to put export restrictions on these specific chips waiting until the horse was out of the barn! Why? So that Hunter or somebody could profit?
I have watched the PRC’s Ministry of State Security (MSS) get US Service Members to sell SECRETS or get caught up in VERY EFFECTIVE Honey Trap Operations run by the MSS:

shootski
Would not doubt any of it…smacks of selling Japan metal scrap prior to 1941; we know how well that went. Latest oxymoron creeping into FM’s head: “government watchdog.”
Sticking with FM’s trusted sources for future airgun and accesories’ purchases even if there is a little more stress to the wallet for doing so.
BB,
Thanks for reporting on the show! I’ll be watching numerous items you pointed out to us.
The OmniStorm springer with the variable power
The Bell Target
Crosman Vapor Max pump bar might be an answer to reduce the infernal clacking of all their previous pumpers and Yogi: less chance of finger pinches!
The plastic pistol, the Umarex Markpoint springer, actually looks like it could be a lot of fun as a dart pistol. The steel and plastic bolts weigh about .45 grams, which is the same as a 7gr lead pellet. It might shoot a bit hard, but then it might be perfect. Someone I know may have to try it. Since it’s a breech loader, bolts and the tufted darts can load easily.
If it did bury the darts too far into the board, maybe that same person could lop a coil or two off one end of the main spring and presto! Perfect dart velocity. You’d have to be able to take it apart.
Regards,
Will
I am surprised the drooper rings don’t come in the 1” tube size. Hopefully they will rectify that soon. I used a somewhat similar device to help with mounting a BugBuster compact scope further back towards my eye. It was 1” tube size of course. It is the Leapers Accushot 1-Pc Bi-directional Offset Mount w/1″ Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail. It says it is bi-directional so that makes me believe that there is no built-in droop. But it worked as I needed it to work. And I didn’t need any shims to compensate for barrel droop.
The JTS compressor looks like something to consider when and if I need to upgrade or replace my Rovair compressor.
There are inserts (spacers) you can buy online that let you use 1 inch scope in rings meant for 30mm scopes.
They aren’t very expensive.
Ian.
Thanks Ian, that’s something to definitely keep in mind.
The Umarex Avera looks like it has a cylinder above the trigger, with a red slider to release it. Very similar to a Russian CO2 pistol – the Baikal MP651 – which already has a Snowpeak semi-copy (CP400, from memory). Crossbolt safety through the trigger as well.
I forget what it’s called on the UK / European market, but that break-barrel comes in two barrel lengths – that looks like the longer of them.
iain
BB – you did originally describe the Avera as having a stick magazine, didn’t you – that’s why I thought I’d flag up the similarity?
The Baikal, by the way, gets a twenty-something magazine capacity when using – ahem – suitable round ball (I know it’s a pet hate of yours to misname those) by having a dedicated rotary magazine with muzzle-loading chambers that is topped up from a magazine above the barrel, or just use a more normal 8 shot pellet magazine. From what I’ve read of the CP400, that’s pellet only.
iain
Lian,
Yes, I made a mistake. Ian McKee caught it and I changed the text.

Umarex again
“I saw these pistols on day one, but I saved them until mow.”
Probably now. No biggie.
Thanks for all the info on the show. I enjoy it.
Doc
BB
Love the idea of the Markpoint. Going on my list for 2025. Think this might be a good dedicated .177 dart shooter.
300 FPS should be perfect for Malibu darts.
I’ll let you know
Kind Regards
