Hypothetically, because really? A Zombie Apocalypse? Like I said, hypothetically, if there were a zombie apocalypse which type of bow would be your choice of weapon? A crossbow, compound bow, recurve/traditional, or a Cold Steel .625 4ft Blowgun?

Okay, maybe a blow dart won’t do the trick since Zombies don’t actually have blood to poison. There are a few reasons you would need a weapon.
- Self-protection against who knows what or who.
- Survival hunting for food.
- Just to look dangerous.
How to Kill a Zombie
Back to my question! I’ll answer while you think about it. I’ve done some research on the best way to kill a zombie, and it’s nothing like a vampire or werewolf. I was expecting some similarities. The best way to kill a zombie is to hit it in the head, but it may take more than one hit. What that says to me is accuracy is key.
The answer is going to be easy for some; if you’re proficient with a CenterPoint Sniper G4D crossbow and nothing else, you’d better go with that. If you’re proficient with a Bear Archery Adapt compound bow or a recurve, that may be the better choice for you. Then there are those of us who are equally proficient with most bows. Which one do you choose? Yes, I’m only allowing you to choose one.
Turtle Eggs
I also did some research on what attracts zombies, and if you have turtle eggs, you may want to hide those or be ready to fight! Turtles look out, the zombies are coming to get you! Another thing that attracts zombies is noise. That got me thinking a lot more.
Here’s one scenario: if I’m hunting for some food because going to the grocery store is no longer an option, shooting a crossbow may not be the best tool. If you’re itching for a fight and want to take chances, take a shot at that rabbit, but be ready because they are coming and they don’t want the rabbit.
Another con to a crossbow during a zombie apocalypse is the time it’s going to take to cock the crossbow and load a bolt. I know zombies may not be the fastest, but you don’t want to give them any time at all! Keep reading! I’ll get to my choice of weapon soon!
Nope, Not A Compound Bow

If I’m trying to stay unnoticed and have the best chance of survival, I wouldn’t choose a compound bow either. That was going to be your choice, and you were so sure I would agree? Here’s why I wouldn’t; there are too many moving parts, and in a pinch, they would be tough to repair.
My bow of choice would be the Bear Archery Green Glass Grizzly bow. Here’s my argument; it’s quiet for hunting for food or the take down of a single zombie, no noise, no attraction. The time it takes to send an arrow all depends on the archer. As fast as you can nock an arrow, draw, aim, and release is the only limit you’ll, I mean I will face! If there’s a malfunction, it’s much simpler to repair with fewer moving parts and simpler mechanics! The very last reason, I really like the color green! That may change if we do happen upon an apocalypse.
After deciding whether you agree with me or not, I would like to give some suggestions: purchase at least one of the Delta Makenzie Undead Fred Archery targets and practice, your life may depend on it!
