  • Tou from USA asked:

Can this be use on the air Venturi nomad 2? Or just for the big compressor?

    • Tyler from USA:

      Just the big compressor

    • Tyler from USA:

      Just the big compressor

  • dan ahlfeld from USA asked:

can I fill soda stream air bottles safely using this air filter?

    • Tyler from USA:

This is only made to be used with the air venturi 4500 psi air compressor. So I'd say no

  • Mark from USA asked:

what is this media? it does not look like silica gel desiccant is it reusable/rechargable?

    • GWE from USA:

The media is likely a "molecular sieve", you can look that up but basically it size filter the H20 molecule...highly effective...I recommend the material as an instrumentation specialist its all we used for all our zero air supplies and compressors once became cost effective.

    • Tyler from USA:

I don't believe it is reusable. It is Hill's dessicant. If they get it from another source, I am not sure.

  • J from USA asked:

Q1 does this unit have one way valves to stop it from removing moisture from the air while not in use? Q2 since the sieves are nearly impossible to reuse without an annealing kiln, can I use silica gel with any effectiveness?

    • Tyler from USA:

It does not, though a simple cap over the top would be easy to employ for that. I cannot speak to the effectiveness of silica gel in this unit, Hill's filter media is made specifically for this purpose and they do not recommend using any other media.

  • joverton from USA asked:

Will this work with the Air Venturi Nomad 4500 PSI Portable Compressor?

    • Tyler from USA:

      No it will not

  • half from USA asked:

When I spent the $1300 + tax that the Air Venturi pump cost I was lead to believe that it was complete and ready to use, able to survive pumping the ambient air that it was designed to pump. Are you now telling me that I am risking damage to that very expensive piece of kit if I allow it to pump air without running it through this device first. If it has now been found that moisture in the air will damage this expensive pump I think that we early owners should be entitled to a refund or a free filter now that you are aware of this fact. Should I stop using my pump until you have an opportunity to facilitate a return or provide me with a filter at no charge??

    • Tyler from USA:

The AV compressor is fine without any additional moisture filters, this is simply for those looking to remove a bit more moisture from the air before it enters the compressor. For example, a user in Alabama is going to have to deal with more moisture in the air that goes into their compressor than a user in Minnesota, so this would help the AL user cut down on the moisture in the air as it enters the compressor, which is going to reduce the amount of moisture in the air when it exits the compressor. There is no risk to your compressor running it without this filter, moisture is always going to be part of the fill process with ANY compressor, additional filters and dryers are there to help cut down on the amount of moisture that comes out and goes into your guns/tanks. No one is telling you that there is a risk of damage to the compressor running without this. Continue using your compressor, everything is fine.
