  • baker from USA asked:

Can the nomad be hooked up to an ATV battery or is the option only available for car or truck batteries, i know other similar style compressors allow for various 12 volt sources but im not sure about the nomad.

    • Mark from USA:

As long as the battery is 12 volt ans can support a 20 AMP draw it should work.

  • Stanley from USA asked:

Will a 10 GAUGE 3-wire grounded, 10 foot, 15 amp, 125 volt, 1875 watt, 5-15P/R, UL Listed extension cord work as long as its plugged into a 30 amp breaker outlet? What is the minimum gauge and maximum extension cord length that can be safely used?

    • Mark from USA:

Yes.The compressor draws between 17 and 20 amps at full load.

  • Michael from USA asked:

I understand that you can't use this with a cigarette lighter adapter but what about a power inverter?

    • Mark from USA:

The nomad has a power inverter built in the unit. You can use regular current from a external power inverter if you choose.

  • Brian from USA asked:

Can this work as a regular air compressor and fill car tires, inflatable rafts, etc. as well as guns?

    • Mark from USA:

The Nomad is a high pressure ,low volume air compressor, Filling tires and boats which are low pressure ,high volume does not sound like a good idea.

  • Tennyson from USA asked:

Will this compressor hook directly to the new Air Venturi Avenger to charge it? Also, what warranty does this compressor carry?

    • Mark from USA:

Yes, The Nomad connects directly to the Avenger to fill it. The Nomad has a 1 year warranty.

  • Chad from USA asked:

My Nomad unit stopped working. It makes a loud squealing noise when i turn it on and the compressor on/off button does no start the compressor. Anyone know whats wrong with it?

    • Mark from USA:

It sounds like the motor/cranakshaft has seized. e-mail [email protected] to set up a service repair and send the unit in.

  • Christopher from USA asked:

What is the actual power draw on the when running on 12v? I am planning on buying a antigravity lithium battery for when I go hunting because I will be on my quad. Need to plan on how many fills I can get before returning to camp.

    • Mark from USA:

The Nomad can draw 20 Amps at 12 volts. If your AV battery can produce that all should work.

  • Victor from USA asked:

Can I use silicon Treadmill Belt Lubricant/Lube or silicon oil MICROLUBROL ARMASIL High-Perf?

    • Mark from USA:

Yes. That silicone lube is fine.

  • Ross from USA asked:

Was filling air guns from car battery with provided attachments/adapters. Car battery started smoking and seemed as if was about to catch fire. Is car engine supposed to be off or on when using this feature?

    • Mark from USA:

The Nomad draws a lot of current. It is better for the car to be running when attached to the battery.

  • Ross from USA asked:

Had this for a week or so. Already got an H2 code in the digital box where the load is read. What is the H2 error?

  • Mark Kingston from USA asked:

Will the 4500psi air venturi compressor oil work in the nomad2?

    • Mark from USA:

The Nomad takes 100 % silicone oil. It does not take compressor oil like the AV4500.

  • Brian from USA asked:

How long is the warranty on this

    • Mark from USA:

      1-year limited warranty

  • Jules from United Kingdom asked:

Is anyone running the Nomad II from a separate leisure battery? I was thinking of getting one and setting it up to trickle-charge from a solar panel so as to be ready for use whenever needed.

    • Victor from USA asked:

Will it fill a FX Dream-Tac 500cc aluminum air bottle

      • Mark from USA:

        Yes.

    • Scot from USA asked:

Recently bought a Nomad II from Pyramyd. On the sixth use my Nomad only filled up to 2500psi, wanted 3000. The first five uses went up to 3000 no problem. What would cause this and how do I fix? I've contacted Air Venturi several times but no reply.

      • Scot from USA:

Just used the Nomad for first time since, gun filled to 3000 psi no problem. Had applied a few drops of silicone oil after the first five uses per the manual. Apparently that affected the next performance. Wish the manual would say should anticipate this problem after oiling.

      • Mark from USA:

Air Venturi/Pyramyd Air is currently experiencing a deluge of inquires. We will answer them, but it will take time. You may get faster replies if you e-mail [email protected]

    • Drewster from USA asked:

Can this be run off a charger for car batteries?

      • Mark from USA:

We think you can.About 30-40Amp for 12 V , power supply was for 50 Amp . Battery charger will work , but not everyone ,only that one that design start car also.

    • David from USA asked:

I have a jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Is there an adapter so I can plug it in to my cargo area ?

      • Val from USA:

You will want to go directly to your car battery, otherwise you will overload electrical wiring. hence no adapter for the cigarette lighter either.

    • Shawn from USA asked:

Can this be used to fill a pcp carbon fiber air tank? If so, about how long would it take?

      • Mark from USA:

The Nomad is meant to be used to fill guns. You can fill CF tank guns. Larger CF tanks will take forever with the Nomad. It is not built for air tank filling.

    • Margaret from USA asked:

Can you fill scuba tanks with this compressor

      • Mark from USA:

You should not. The Nomad is only for filling gun airtubes.

    • Frank from USA asked:

On the fill probe fittings were over crimped, to where air would not pass through. Found this out by trying to fill my gun? How to resolve this issue, and a # with a real person on the phone please....

      • Mark from USA:

Contact the Tech dept for parts replacement . Go to "contact us" on the website,.

    • John from USA asked:

Does Pyramid Air service the Nomad II after the warranty expires? Are there any other options? Thanks

      • Val from USA:

Air Venturi will service it even after warranty expires. It just might not be free necessarily.

    • Alan from USA asked:

When i filled my Bullodog today to 2500psi, when i stopped the compressor and released the air, a lot of water came out. Is this normal? This is the 8 time i use this compressor, and the other 7 times did not produce this much moisture.

      • Mark from USA:

The amount of moisture you get out of the compressor is directly related to the humidity in the air. You may simply have been filling on a wet day(high humidity).

    • David from USA asked:

I have plugs in my jeep. Can I get a plug instead of having to hook directly to my car battery ?

      • Val from USA:

Sadly no. The cigarette plugs don't support high wattage that this unit will draw on, so you do need to hookup directly to the battery...

    • Alan from USA asked:

      pre lubed

      • Mark from USA:

Yes. The manual explains when to lube.

    • Alex from USA asked:

Does it come with a 1/8 bspp quick disconnect for my fill probe to attach to because my current AV 1/8 bspp adapter Oring got smashed a bit inside and gave me filling problem.

      • Mark from USA:

Yes. The hose comes with a Female QD foster. You can get a replacement o-ring or delrin seal for your other fitting.

    • Alex from USA asked:

Does it come with a fill probe?

      • Mark from USA:

No. Fill probes come with guns.

    • Paul from USA asked:

Can I use WD40 silicone as lubricant in this compressor?

      • Mark from USA:

Do not use an aerosol product. The propellant will gum up the Nomad. Use a liquid silicone oil product.

    • bob from USA asked:

Where is Venturi Nomad ll made?

      • Mark from USA:

        China

    • Paul from USA asked:

Can the Nomad II fill the 480cc CF tank of FX?

      • Mark from USA:

Yes. It will take a long time. The tank should be filled in a couple of sessions. Let the compressor rest between sessions.

    • Federico from USA asked:

I got the nomad 2 , I dont know why when I try to fill my Kral arm puncher it stops building pressure at 1500 psi when I set it to 2900 psi.

      • Mark from USA:

The Nomad needs to be serviced. It is not operating correctly.

    • Edward from USA asked:

On my unit the location the fill port and the burst nut are reversed form all the pictures and videos I have watched. Is this a problem or just a different way to do things?

      • Mark from USA:

There is no issue, the Nomad will work fine.

    • William from USA asked:

      Is moisture purged?

      • Val from USA:

        yes

    • Thomas from USA asked:

Will the nomad two fill the airforce Texan lss carbon fiber.

      • Charly from USA:

I fill my FX Dreamline 580cc carbon bottle from 150bars to 250bars for less than 10 minutes. If your compressor take too long to fill your tank, your compressor most likely is leaking some where in the compressor lines.

      • Mark from USA:

You would want to take three sessions of 10-12 min to fill the tank. The nomad can do it but 500 cc is a lot of air.

    • William from USA asked:

      buddy bottle filling

      • Mark from USA:

std rifle airtube 250cc. 8-10 min to fill. Add tofill time as size increases. Split fill times to keep Nomad cooler.

    • William from USA asked:

      Filter cartridges

    • derek from USA asked:

      can I fill my tanks

      • Mark from USA:

The Nomad is built to fill guns. Filling tanks will take a very long time and tax the unit.

    • Joshua from USA asked:

Will the nomad II fill the Umarex hammer effectively? Cause the hammer fills to 4500 psi and most things airguns tend to be slightly exaggerated as advertised

      • Mark from USA:

The nomad can fill bottle guns very well.

    • Adam from USA asked:

      How loud is this?

      • Mark from USA:

Noise level while running is 92 dB. Moderately loud

    • robert from USA asked:

will i need any sort of adapter to fill up my HM1000 rifle?

      • Mark from USA:

No . The fill port is a male foster

    • Jose from USA asked:

I have a Nomad 11 the female quick connector fit perfect to my Gauntlet but it do not fit to my Diana Bandit male fill probe. This is expected? How I can use it with my Bandit

      • Jose from USA:

Tyler or Mark can you comment on it . I purchase the Nomad because I want to add several PCP to my air arms and thought that the Nomad was a good deal but the Bandit is my second PCP and I had not be able to use it.

    • andrew from USA asked:

The manual does not confirm if the nomad already comes oil. Do I apply oil on the first use?

      • Val from USA:

It comes without oil, yes, good idea to put some oil before the first use.

    • randy from USA asked:

will this work on gamo tc45? How long will it take to air it up>

      • Val from USA:

yes, it will work. Will take about 17 min to fill that 480 cc tank

    • jimmy from USA asked:

Why my compressor use 3 month now can't reach 3000 psi, gun gauge is 180 bar, the load gauge shows the number around 19, before is around 25.

      • Mark from USA:

Contact,Air Venturi for service. Your compressor needs repair.

    • Eric from USA asked:

      why did the price increase?

      • Darren from USA:

Ha, well I just put the FX Wildcat II and this pump on the back burner for however long it takes.

      • Mark from USA:

        Trump's tarrifs

    • Reginald from USA asked:

Can you fill the Benjamin Carbon Fiber 90 cu. in. tank with this?

      • Mark from USA:

It can be done in 8-10 min intervals. .you let the Nomad cool down. The small tank is pretty much the upper limit on tank filling with the Nomad

    • Walker from USA asked:

What does the One Year Warranty cover? Where does it have to be shipped for service? Are there extended warranties available?

      • Mark from USA:

The warranty covers parts and repair of the unit. It is shipped to air Venturi. There is no extended warranty available.

    • Art B from USA asked:

I want to extend the length of the hose that comes with this compressor. Which hose and fittings would you recommend?

    • Lonnie from USA asked:

How often should I lube the nomad II?

      • Mark from USA:

As per the manual: when the load gauge shows the number moving up. 28-29

    • DocClary from USA asked:

What is the Amperage requirement for this compressor. My highest Amp outlet is a 25 Amp dedicated outlet. Will this be sufficient?

      • Carl from USA:

That 20 or so amp load is is being measured on the DC side of the internal power supply. The AC draw is only going to be a fraction of that in the neighbor hood of 5 to 7 amps. So a 25That 20 amps load is is being measured on the DC side of the internal power supply. The AC load is only going to be a fraction of that in the neighbor hood of 5 to 7 amps. So a 20 amp circuit should be fine. amp circuit should be fine.

      • Mark from USA:

The Nomad can draw 30AMPs max. We have 20 AMP circuts and have never tripped a breaker. The 25AMP circut is good. If the Nomad gets dry the amp load will go up.

    • Matthew from USA asked:

Does it come with silicone oil.

      • Mark from USA:

It does not come with silicone oil.

    • Matthew from USA asked:

when i start the cooling fan switch pip sound keep coming and the digital gauge show " L " what is the problem.

        • Jordan from USA:

The unit is not receiving enough power. Make sure it is not set to 220V if you are in the U.S and or try a different power source. If neither work call Airventuri.

      • John from USA asked:

Can I use Super Lube Super Lube 56104 Silicone Oil (item listed on amazon) in my Nomad II comprssor.

        • Mark from USA:

As long as the lube is 100% silicone oil. you can use.

      • dereck from USA asked:

Can it fill a gun with 500cc tank.

        • Mark from USA:

Yes. The Nomad will fill a gun with a 500 cc air bottle.

      • dereck from USA asked:

Can it fill a gun with 500cc tank.

        • Val from USA:

          Yes

        • Mark from USA:

Yes; The Nomad will fill a 500 cc air gun air cylinder.

      • Henry from USA asked:

What is the biggest tank this can fill ?

        • Mark from USA:

The Nomad I &II are made to fill guns . Not tanks.

      • Paul from USA asked:

Tyler in a pinch (say you've used up all of the filters) could you use a hair dryer to dry out a filter for further use?

        • Tyler from USA:

I suppose that could work, but the spare filters should be available separately very soon

      • Ed from USA asked:

        What is the duty cycle?

        • Eric from USA:

max 15 minute run time. this is only to fill guns, not tanks. from what i have seen, it takes 5-6 min to fill a gun. not sure how long it has to rest between uses.

      • Mauricio from USA asked:

Does PyramidAir sell the Replacement Output Filters for this compressor or will the ones for the 4500 model fit this model? Other than the silicon oil and the replacement output filters, what other accessories are recommended when ordering this unit?

Yes, they will be available soon.

      • AquileS507 from USA asked:

where can i buy the air filter that you need to replace every 3 hours of use?

        • Tyler from USA:

I was told they should be online within a few weeks

      • Robert from USA asked:

would super lube 100cst be acceptable or microlubal 200?

        • Tyler from USA:

You'd want to look at the ingredients. The manufacturer calls for silicone lubricant only.

      • lee from USA asked:

hi all- has anyone used Royal Purple 01513 Synfilm Recip 100 High Performance Synthetic Air Compressor Lubricant in this?

        • Tyler from USA:

Only silicone oil is recommended for the Nomad

      • jimmy from USA asked:

What kind Silicone Oil ? 20-60wt?

      • Sylvain from Canada asked:

HI, in The Air Venturi NOMAD II Portable Air Compressor video,Tyler is using a lever action rifle for a few second at about 10 min. 40 sec.of the video. Can you tell me the model of this rifle, and if I can find it on your web site. thank you in advance for a response. Sylvain.

      • Andrew from USA asked:

Will this fill a 62Ci 3000 PSI paintball tank from 0 PSI and turn off automatically when it reaches 3000 PSI?

        • Tyler from USA:

If you set the auto-shut off at 3000 psi....then yes....just keep a close eye on time. I would recommend filling in two segments, fill to 1500 psi and then let the unit cool and then from 1500 to 3000 psi to finish it off. Just make sure the run times are around 15 minutes or so and then stop.

      • John from USA asked:

How long is the battery (DC) cable.

        • Tyler from USA:

          Right around 60"

      • Scot from USA asked:

How many watts does this use on 110v?

        • Tyler from USA:

Seen different numbers on the few units I've worked with, 500-800 Watts is the range I've been seeing.

      • Matt from USA asked:

Curious why it uses such a small filter to take care of the moisture etc of the air. Appears grossly inadequately to remove the moisture from compressed air.

        • Tyler from USA:

It has an internal filter as well as the external filters that you see in the image. You can certainly add another filter to the end of the hose if you want to, but that will add additional time to your fills and this unit is made to fill PCPs only in relatively short times.

      • Dragon from USA asked:

What happen to the first 1 the Air Venturi Nomad 4500 PSI Portable Compressor?

        • Tyler from USA:

With the introduction of the Nomad 2, it has been discontinued.

      • John from USA asked:

How many years of service could I expect to get out of this, as a casual PCP shooter?

        • Tyler from USA:

That depends on how often it is used. Of course, should any seals go, they are replaceable. So there's no reason it wouldn't work for years and years to come. If you keep up with maintenance and keep the unit lubricated, it should last quite a while.

      • omegaweapon from USA asked:

What is maximum run time on this compressor? Say can it run 30 mins before it needs to be shut off to cool down?

        • Tyler from USA:

I wouldn't recommend any longer than 20 minutes on a continuous run, less if you can help it

      • Michael from USA asked:

Just got my Nomad II. It did not come with any silicone oil. Just an empty bottle. Should it have come with some? What silicone oil should be used? Do they have it at Home Depot to get locally? Can I use Crosman RMCOIL Silicone Chamber Oil?

        • Kendall from USA:

Not sure if Id use the 3&1 all temp silicon oil, I bought some but it looked @ it & looked up the SD sheet, & think its more a petroleum base oil than silicone, if some one does use it, please let everyone know how it works for you, I ended up buying Armasil 100% high temp silicon oil, I paid about $20 for 2oz, but want to make sure that I use whats best for this product, just wanted to put this out there,

        • Tyler from USA:

          Yes, looks okay to me

        • Michael from USA:

          Is this ok: https://www.homedepot.com/p/3-IN-ONE-4-oz-All-Temp-Silicone-Drip-Oil-120008/300719538

        • Tyler from USA:

The empty bottle is correct. Crosman Silicone oil is fine. If you can find pure silicone oil locally, that would be okay as well.

      • Robert from USA asked:

What are top off times for Airforce 500cc rifles? 1500 to 3000 or 2000 to 3000?

        • Tyler from USA:

Let's see, if it fills a Texan in 17 mins from 0-3000, then you're looking at around 8 min 30 sec for 1500-3000 and probably 5-6 mins for 2000-3000

      • Clint from USA asked:

Can this be used to fill a Benjamin 90 cubic inch tank?

        • Tyler from USA:

It's not recommended for filling larger tanks. If you filled in 10-15 minute increments, it could be done

      • Richard from USA asked:

What silicone oil is reccomended? Weight/brand

      • Bernard from USA asked:

Other than the AC power, what are the differences between the Nomad and Nomad Ii?

        • Tyler from USA:

The Nomad II has all of the features of the Nomad I built into one unit. On top of that, the II has a different on/off system that allows you to keep the unit plugged without the louder fan system running all the time. It also has an on board LED light set that will help if you want to run the unit off of a car battery at night, and it just looks plain cool.

      • Robert from USA asked:

What happened to the 11/5/2018 arrival date?

        • Tyler from USA:

          It has been pushed back

      • Jiahuan from USA asked:

Does the fitting fit an FX Impact fill plug out of the box? I know when I bought my impact, it came with its own quick connect fitting and the one on that came with my air tank was too short and it was very hard to take it off the gun after I filled it.

        • Tyler from USA:

I believe any FX retailer would have it, PA doesn't sell FX, so I don't think you'll find it here.

        • Jiahuan from USA:

Do you guys sell this extension? Do you work for Pyramid Air? If so can I get your contact information?

        • Tyler from USA:

You would still want/need an extension to get the QD fitting on/off easily. But it will fit the male foster on the gun.

      • shahrooz from USA asked:

Can you use this to fill the guppy tanks?

        • Tyler from USA:

It's not recommended for filling larger tanks, so it depends on the size of yours. Though if you ran it for 10-15 minute intervals, it should be okay.

      • Dakota from USA asked:

Would this air up my 480cc bottle on my crown???

        • Tyler from USA:

          Yes

      • Claudio from USA asked:

Hi. I love overseas and use a 220v outlet. Will I have to buy a voltage converter or just the plug adapter?

        • Tyler from USA:

          Just the plug adapter.

      • Thomas from USA asked:

Will this work to fill either or seneca double shot, umarex hammer?

        • Tyler from USA:

          Yes

      • Stan from USA asked:

How long to fill a Umarex Gauntlet?

        • Tyler from USA:

          From empty, around 7-8 minutes

      • Jeff from USA asked:

Can you fill a bottle with this little thing?

        • Tyler from USA:

It is not recommended for filling SCBA or SCUBA tanks

What are the advantages of the Nomad 2 over the first Nomad? The descriptions say the fill times are the same.

        • Tyler from USA:

There are a few differences. The big one is that the power supply (inverter) is built into the Nomad II. So no extra large parts to carry around. The Nomad II also has the LED lights built in which are a nice touch and a electrical shut off so you don't have to unplug and plug it back in when you want to run it (when using a wall outlet). And it comes with a nice carry bag that everything fits into perfectly.

What's the difference vs the other Nomad? Does this simply have the power supply built in? For an extra $100 seems like there should be more?
