I have an Airforce Texan 457. Is this strong enough for my rifle? Absolutely not at point blank...
what caliber of airgun will it stop?
It's made for rimfires - so realistically, anything below 100-150 FPE should be fine.
Can you use lead and/or steel BB's with this?
Lead ammo would be fine. Steel BBs will ricochet
Can I use the Dust Devil tangible bb's on this trap?
Sure can
How much does this trap weigh?
20 lbs
What's the thickness of the plate?
3/16"
Why can't you use steel BBs in this trap? I have a mix of .177 and .22 air guns for both BBs and pellets. If there's a better trap similar to this one that can handle both of those, I'd like to know about it as well. Thanks!
just because it's metal and steel BBs will ricochet violently. You can use Smart Shot BBs, which are lead.
I shoot bb's most of the tome. I found the copper clad lead bb's work well. H&N Excite Smart Shot .177 Cal, 7.4 Grains, Copper Plated Lead BBs. No ricochets.
Can this trap be hung on the wall, or will I have to build a shelf for it?
It should be placed on a shelf
Is just under 10 yards of distance, reasonable for me to use this trap for setting up my Walther LGU 22, indoors?
Yes, this trap will be able to stop pellets from the LGU at that distance.
