  • Wayne from USA asked:

What would be the best caliber for hunting coyotes?

    • Tyler from USA:

I would go for the .30 or .357

  • Frank from USA asked:

I'm ready to buy my first Big-Bore air rifle for deer hunting. Currently, I've narrowed it down to the Evanix Rainstorm II in .357, or the Winchester 70 in .357 or .45. Opinions? Compare and contrast?

    • Tyler from USA:

Lots of options. I'm partial to the Airforce airguns both for power and accuracy, but there aren't many options with multi-shot capability. Really depends on how big that feature is to you. I'd take a Texan any day of the week, whether it's an SS or a Carbine or standard model, that would be my go to.

    • Frank from USA:

Thanks, Tyler, but since I'm the one doing the narrowing, I might have missed something. Do you have other recommendations for airgun deerhunting besides the Winchester?

    • Tyler from USA:

Aside from the name and stock differences, not a whole lot. They are both made by Evanix, and are very similar in size and function. I would tell you to lean towards the .45 though, purely for the extra knock down power.

  • David from USA asked:

Does this gun have silener built it or is it to lound for bark yard use??

    • Tyler from USA:

The barrel is fully shrouded, the small bore calibers .22 and .25 are not too bad, but do bark a bit.

  • David from USA asked:

What pellet weight is the .25 cal that is used for the 910 ft per second?

    • Tyler from USA:

Typically the 19 grain HN Field Target Trophy are used for most tests

  • Juan from USA asked:

My pressure gauge for my Evanix RainStorm stripped out, any idea where I can buy a new one?

    • Tyler from USA:

Give the tech dept. at Pyramyd a call or Email, they should be able to help

  • DennisV from USA asked:

How long is the 11mm dovetail scope mount and how high is the rotary magazine?

    • sayyad from India asked:

Why do you closed evanix rainstorm .177 production what reason please tell me

      • Robert from USA asked:

Why does the refurbished Evanix Rainstorm II PCP Air Rifle cost $50 more than a new one ($799 refurb vs $749 new)?

        • Tyler from USA:

It's a different caliber. The prices change by caliber on the Rainstorm II

      • Alberto from USA asked:

Can I use a moderator on this air rifle? Which one?

        • Thomas from USA:

Contact Neil Clague at neilclague@comcast.net and he will set you up with one like mine....... see my review "Thomas"

        • Tyler from USA:

Pyramyd Air does not offer an aftermarket moderator.

      • John from USA asked:

is the new thumbhole stock what i will get if i but this gun

        • Tyler from USA:

The .357/9mm is the only one coming with the thumbhole stock at this time.

      • sayyad from India asked:

let me know how much increase power of rainstorm .177 gun?

        • sayyad from India:

          yes tyler

        • Tyler from USA:

Do you mean how to increase the power?

      • Sal from USA asked:

Do Evanix guns use Walther Barrel?

          No

      • Terry from USA asked:

I'd like to know how much the valve on the .30 version has been modified on this rifle?

        • joel from USA asked:

hi i am interested in a rainstorm 2 evanix I need to know if it sounds hard or silent. joel

          • Mohammed from India:

It is high. Not suitable for an Urban environment

          • Stanley from USA:

            Medium high .

        • Domingo from USA asked:

Can it load longer pellets? Is the trigger adjustable?

          • James from USA asked:

what is 4-med high in db levels? too loud for back yard?

            • Rob from USA:

I beg to differ. It is indeed way louder than my break open spring rifle. I'm sending mine away to have more baffles added.

            • Horace from USA:

Answer is generally NO for most urban neighborhoods. Don't despair, there are many solutions. Contact Neil Clague on the TAG forum.

          • amro from USA asked:

Is it come with the scope and what about silencer ?

            • EMU from USA:

No scope. The barrel is shrouded. The accesory with a silencer was discontinued. The rifle in Cal. .30 is not so loud.

          • Richard from USA asked:

I have no right eye, must shoot left handed. Is the side lever cocking compatible or convertible for left handers?

            • Horace from USA:

Side levers have complex linkage that makes switching sides problematic. No would be the answer. All us left-handlers don't seem to have a big problem with it.

          • Horace from USA asked:

Is there a threaded end to attach an additional moderator to further quiet this gun? Is there an Evanix moderator sold that helps?

            • Horace from USA:

Type "Evanix Shroud" in the search box and it will take you there. Shroud screws onto any Evanix shrouded rifle and replace the factory shroud. Replacement shroud has no baffles, bu they could be added at the end of the shroud. Some aluminum welding would be necessary.

          • frank from USA asked:

What pellets were used in the 30 cal to obtain 910.0 fps ?

            • Horace from USA:

              44 grain pellets.

            • Val from USA:

              JSBs

          • Geno from USA asked:

First off thanks for the quick response I meant eliminate the probe altogether like the sumatra recluse 909 probe unscrew and use male threads and Oring goodbye leaky probe and grease ect it one less thing to loose I know will makes one looking to put on myself

            • Cyril from USA:

Search the net -- there is an Evanix expert who will do it for you for about $75 (as I recall)

            • Dan the Man from USA:

              No, Pyramyd doesn't sell one.

          • Geno from USA asked:

Can this be converted to foster fitting

          • Geno from USA asked:

What grain pellet was this tested to get 800 fps pa always test with super light pellet cause velocity sells and when I put decent weight pellet it 200 short of what it's supposed to be I'm assuming the lightest is 80.2 jsb ?

            • Cyril from USA:

Mine Chronoed at 806 with JSB 81 grain pellets.

            • Dan the Man from USA:

              77.8 grain Eun Jin's.

          • JoseN from USA asked:

what is the energy this rifle has?

            • Richelle from USA:

That will depend on the caliber, pellet weight, and velocity. You can use this calculator to determine the energy:

            • Erika from U.S. Virgin Islands:

Depends on what caliber you are looking at

          • Rick from USA asked:

Why would nitrogen hurt this rifle? I use it in all my other air guns!

            • Horace from USA:

78% of the air we breath is nitrogen, thus is heavily present in all air gun fills.

            • Joe from USA:

nitrogen would not hurt this rifle

          • vipin from India asked:

Best value for money evanix rain stome II or windy city II in .177 cal.

            • Dan the Man from USA:

The rainstorm II is a better deal.

          • vipin from India asked:

So pls. let me know, how much shoots we can get per fill, Is this gun in .177 cal. is good for hunting & long range target shooting?

            • Horace from USA:

Hunting very small game...rabbits, birds, etc. Not for anything larger, especially at distances beyond 30 yards.

            • Dan the Man from USA:

In .177 caliber, you get around 26 shots. Yes, it is very good for both applications.

          • Mitch from USA asked:

            deer?

            • EMU from USA:

Have not used our Evanix WC to hunt deer, but a coyote was passed through in a chest shot.... The .357 is very powerful..... No doubt that if you do not hit the bone of the upper leg (arm) of the deer, pellet will reach vitals.

            • Val from USA:

read this article on airgun hunting

            • Cyril from USA:

.357 = Small deer (4 points or less) = clean kill .... Larger deer will run several hundred yards and then die = I will never use it to shoot a larger deer. = It is sad to chase them down.

            • Dan the Man from USA:

No, go .45 or .50 cal.

          • Mitch from USA asked:

Evanix VS Sam Yang ? better same? What size game Game will this take down?

            • Erika from U.S. Virgin Islands:

I would choose Sam Yang as I find it to be a better quality. Your game size will depend on what caliber you are looking to get

          • Terry Terry from USA asked:

I'm guessing the pellet velocities are given by the use of standard grain pellets? This would help, because I want to calculate the fps and energy; my next purchase is going to be an Evanix in .22 cal. ???

            • Horace from USA:

Note the small red circle next to the velocity...touch it and the weight of pellet used will appear.

            • Erika from U.S. Virgin Islands:

              Yes, that is correct

          • DAVID from USA asked:

HOW LOUD IS IT? LOW, LOW MEDIUM,OR WHAT

            • Horace from USA:

It's not neighbor friendly in the larger calibers. .177 and .25 might be ok. depending on who your neighbors are. Otherwise, use an LDC...

            • Tyler from USA:

Depends on the caliber but I would say medium to loud.

            • Robert from USA:

              Medium-high.

          • Brant from USA asked:

I purchase on of these in the 9mm. I have a couple of mauraders and the hand pump for them. My question is this gun has a different fitting for air and I would like to find out what I need to get to use my pump to fill this rifle?

            • Val from USA:

Use the PCP Hookup tab to the right to find out what adapters you need

            • Tyler from USA:

To connect the fill probe that comes with the gun to your set up for a Marauder you will need a male quick connect fitting. Enter "Py-a-3550" into the search bar to find the proper fitting.

            • Robert from USA:

It's different than the Marauder, but it comes with the gun. They show the probe in the photo with the magazines, which also come with it.

          • Chris from USA asked:

What grain pellet does it shoot at the claimed 800fps?

            • Horace from USA:

FPS depends on what caliber you are looking at. Tap "specifications" tab and it will take you to that information.

            • Eddy from USA:

Max velocity of this gun = 1300 fps equal with 396.24 mps. Asumming : use 10.5 grain .177". The energy to produce this speed is 53.41 joules. If this energy want to get velocity 800 fps or 234.84 mps, the weight of pellet approximate 27.725 grain. Thank you very much

          • JoseN from USA asked:

how many foot/lbs this pcp has

            • Horace from USA:

Foot pounds of energy will always depend on the caliber used. Larger caliber equals greater energy.

            • Horace from USA:

82 FPE in the .30 caliber version.

            • anthony from USA:

              110.59
