I am a very good marksman and wondering if anyone has had issues with their gun and scope. I zeroed at 10 yrd and it is accurate. The more I shoot the further it goes lower. Scope and mount are tight. Switched scope out and same issue. Any suggestions?
How loud is it? Is it backyard friendly?
That depends on your backyard. It's borderline.
What is the energy of the .22 version of this?
Around 20 FPE with most pellets
I have a Gamo Big Cat 1200 that I am trying to find the most accurate pellet for. I have put a quality scope and one piece base on it. Now I am using Cabelas 10.5 gr ultra magnum pellets but am not happy with the accuracy, especially on the first shot when it counts while hunting with it.
It all depends on how good you are. Crosman Premiers 10.5 grains would be the heaviest I would use. I have had great shooting and hunting success with the Crosman Premier 7.9 grains. Shot and killed a large groundhog that came within about 20 feet of my deck using Crosman Premier pointed hunting pellets. Woodys World.
I have three Gamos in .177 and they all like and are very accurate with the Crosman Premiers 10.5 grain ultra magnum.
Can you get any extra mounts for this gun like for iron sight lasers or flashlights
There are mounts available lasers and flashlights but doubtful if iron sights could be made to fit?
I am a newbie to air gunning. I have Gamo Big Cat 1250 in .177 cal that came with a Gamo 4x32mm scope. I would like to upgrade to a 3-9x40mm scope. Can anyone recommend a descent scope in the $100-150 dollar range? I installed a Simmons 3-9x40 on this gun, but I have read some articles stating that I should use a scope designed specifically for an Air-Gun. Thanks for any assistance with my question.
If you bought the scope you might as well use it. I still have my 4X32 scope on my Big Cat 1250. It is sighted/zeroed in very accurately at 80 feet, can not miss the 1 inchtarget. I do have a few extra CenterPoint 3-9X32AO scopes I could put on it, but this air rifle is so accurate and consistent that I feel good enough to stay with it. Get a chronograph. Woodys World.
I have a Gamo Hunter Extreme in .177 cal. and i replaced my Gamo scope ( 3x9x 50mm ) with a Leapers / Utg scope 4x12x50mm and reused the one piece mount ( much better ) still holds zero since 2009 . It only cost about 100.00 dollars at that time . Normally Hawk , Leapers , Utg, Centerpoint are all good brands , and will all hold up really well on spring and nitro gas piston rifles . Most of the time they will say if it can be used on these rifles . I would not trust Simmons for this application . Good luck.
Would this be allowed in Australia?
You would need to check to see if they are allowed or not ? Technically its not a firearm.
What if I want to purchase this in Canada? Over 500 FPS it's considered a Firearm and you'll require an FAC... how do I know that it won't be confiscated somewhere along the way?
At 1250 fps i doubt it could even be shipped?
is it spring loaded or gas
Spring piston according to specs.
How do I adjust the trigger, please? It feels very stiff.

What would be the best .22 cal pellet to shoot squirrels and rabbits with from this air rifle?
Any of the Crosman Premiers: Destroyers, Pointed Hunting, Ultra Magnum Domes. Hollow Points, will do. Take your pick. Woodys World.
i use the gamo tomahawks
Does the Gamo Big Cat 1250 and the Gamo Shadow Express .22 caliber/shotgun share the same powerplant, being they both produce 750 fps with standard lead pellets.
That would be a question best answered by Gamo directly but I believe the diameter of the compression tube is not the same between the two.
After first 1000 shot, my Gamo Big Cat 1250 starts to up from target by 2 inch out of 30 feet range. I re-adjust it to the center. But after 20 dozen shot, it jump low 2 inch. Is there a way I can fix this?
I have had similar issues with mine. I changed the scope and same issue. Put the scope on other rifles and they are fine.
That sounds like it may be a scope issue. Have you checked the mounts to see if they are moving on the rail? Or if the scope is moving within the rings? I would check that first.
