  • michael from USA asked:

Any idea why in a rifle, the velocity is lower than a handgun ? Seems it should be at least 450- 500.fps

    • clifford from Canada asked:

can it be shipped the Canada Toronto as l want one, most of the shops are sold out in Canada,

      • danny from USA asked:

can you mount a scope to it

        • Lora from USA:

I'm sure you can put a scope on there with some tape or some type of modification.

      • Jerry from USA asked:

Are there really only 200 rifles being made?

        • Rodney from USA:

I contacted the Manufacturer (SMG) and asked There are numerous sites as well as reviews that mention a production of only 200 world-wide. Can you confirm that this is a true statement?. This is the response. "The fact is that Gletcher actually had been to produce only 200 of the 1944 model, but due to its popularity we decided to produce more. We've never officially announced this limited edition, but the media became aware of our plans somehow and still use it for advertising. We suggest checking Gletcher website as a source of reliable information about our brand. Sincerely, SMG Customer Service Team Email: info@smgoutdoor.com Web: www.smgoutdoor.com Phone: 877-969-0909"

      • Leon from USA asked:

Is production of this bb gun still limited to 200? I don't see that mentioned on the web page any more?

      • Andy from Canada asked:

Are the Magazines between the M1944 & the M1981 Inter-Changeable?

        • David from USA:

I believe you meant "M1891", no t M1981. The answer is YES!! I received my 1944 Moisin-Nagant rifle on March 9,2017, and several days later I ordered the M1891 Magazine. They looked the same, so I took a chance. The Magazine arrived on March 20, 2017. Side by side they matched up perfectly. They look the same from all sides, and they both fit perfectly! I haven`t had a chance to shoot the rifle yet because of the cold, rainy weather here, but I will.

      • schnauzer from USA asked:

They say 200 made, are these numbered as so?

        • David from USA:

No, they are not. The rifle I received had no such designation either marked on the rifle, or on the box. The box does have "18 Month Warranty" printed on it.

      • dan from USA asked:

Is the stock on this wood?

        • Bob M from USA:

Some sort of plastic that looks and feels like wood, very nice in both looks and weight.

      • Michael from USA asked:

Is there anyway to mount a dot-sight or a scope on this?

        • Michael from USA:

I've discovered it can't really work due to the position of the bolt handle. The way it sticks out creates a clearance issue with any scope mount I've tried. The REAL Mosin has bolt handle variations that lie much flatter against the stock allowing for greater clearance when pulled back. It sticks straight out on this. I guess if you were a decent machinist/welder you could modify the existing bolt handle but that's a lot of work to put in for a BB gun. About the best I was able to do was a mil dot sight, which left much to be desired so I returned the gun to it's original configuration. Disappointing really.

        • walter shipman from USA:

Should be. There are 'kits' that replace the existing rear sight on the real Mosin, to allow for mounting scopes, etc. Should work on this gun, as the sight, as near as i can gather from mine, is a duplicate.

      • Michael from USA asked:

They sell a pistol grip for the actual Mosin Nagant. It's a pretty simple install using a single screw. What are the chances I could make that work for this?

        • walter shipman from USA:

Probably. But, bear in mind that the stock is a form of plastic, no where near as strong as the wood in the real thing. Probably, not sure, hollow at some points, which would weaken it for use with a pistol grip imo.

      • cj from USA asked:

is that a bayonette on the side?

        • Leon from USA:

That is a replica metal folding bayonet that deploys like the real one. This authentic replica is not made of steel however. Most probably made of pot metal and will probably break if you stab anything.

      • Gerald from USA asked:

Is the cleaning rod removable or is it just a cosmetic thing?

        • Charles from USA:

Unfortunately it's for looks only, however, overall this is a quality piece true to the original. Extremely pleased with my purchase [just opened the box] and looking forward to running a few BB's thru it.

      • Lee from USA asked:

Would have bought if pellet version. Why produce adult oriented air rifles in BB format instead of pellet ?

        • zimbabweed from USA:

My 1944 and my friends 1944 shoot into 1/2' or less at 10 M. It shoots tighter groups than some of my pellet rifles. Zimbabweed

        • Leon from USA:

The BB format simplifies the operation and mechanism of the bolt, gas release valve and magazine. But a pellet version can probably be devised....They were able to do it for the Crosman 1077 and the Winchester M14 CO2 rifles.

        • BRIAN from USA:

Agree that BBs are not the greatest, and this guns magazine style could have been modified or redesigned to manage pellets IMO, maybe fewer rounds and a much lighter spring and follower, but do-able.

      • Valeriy from USA asked:

        Is sling included?

        • zimbabweed from USA:

It is 12" too long. the original was 3' long and no adjustment for length. I put a real Russian Mosin Nagant adjustable sling on mine. It looks and works fine. Zimbabweed

        • Leon from USA:

Yes, an excellent reproduction sling is included.

        • BRIAN from USA:

It should be included, that is how the gun is advertised on the Gletcher homepage.

      • Robert from USA asked:

Who set the price point on these? I could buy 2 (almost 3!) WWII surplus Mosin Nagents for that amount at a gun show!

        • Leon from USA:

I bought an unissued, real firearm, Polish M44 Mosin Nagant (Best quality Mosin Nagant I've seen.) 20 years ago for about the same price as this bb replica today. But I think this airgun will be far more collectible and valuable in the future, given the millions of Mosin Nagant rifles ever manufactured and distributed all over the world.

        • gary from USA:

this is an air rifle....shoot it in your backyard...
