What is the maximum amount of time to leave a charged CO2 capsule(s) in the magazine, away from the gun? At what point does it begin to weaken the seals? I also own the Glock 19 , and have been wondering about this for awhile now.
Most manufacturers do not recommend leaving CO2 in the gun at all. I generally go by a 24 hour rule. If I don't plan to shoot the gun again within the next day, the CO2 is removed.
RE: Umarex MP40. Is it possible to drift the front sight for windage adjustment?
No
I recently purchased a Umerex MP-40 from a seller on eBay, when I received it the gune worked fine but the puncture plug leeks real bad. Ive been trying to either find a replacement seal or a replacement plug. I love the gun but the gas is leaking so bad its nit even worth loading it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Two options, 1) Give Umarex USA a call and see if that is a replaceable part that they stock and you could purchase. 2) purchase a new magazine Umarex Legends MP40 BB Magazine,...
Does one have to go through a background check in California to buy/own a BB gun?
Not as far as I know
"bolt" will not close--never fired, what's the problem?
Remove magazine, pull trigger.
Can a scope be mounted to the MP40...if so do you have a suggestion on a good scope to buy?.
I have not seen a mount for it
Is it NJ legal as long as I have FID?
WILL THE SPEED LOADER HOLD THE CLIP LOADER SPRING BACK? MADE ONE WITH A COAT HANGER.A LITTLER STRONGER SPRING MIGHT HELP ALSO.
Is it possible to have adapters created for a dive tank and hose modified to allow a more powerful and rapid amount of BB's to come out? You know, chasing after your annoying brother during leave? I was thinking nothing too much, a box of BB's and about 6 Cu Ft of air from an aluminum tank I am.
My new MP 40 fires bursts of 3 or 4 when in "semi-Auto" Sent gun back to Umarex for repair under 90 day warranty. Good news - got it back in 1 week. Bad news - problem still there. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Mike in Georgia
Try different BBs. Polished steel is preferred.
I loaded the magazine too full & it jammed. The bolt wont pull back at all. How do you fix this? Thanks.
Sounds like you may have a BB stuck in the bolt mechanism. Hard to say for sure though, give Umarex USA a call and see what they recommend.
Does the over all length include the stock in the folded out position?
To load the magazine the follower must be brought down beyond the loading hole. Is there a way to keep it there. I only have two hands.
Saw on yoube to cut a wire hanger to fit. Put a piece of tape on floorplate for scratches - works good!!!
Sadly no
Can i use h&n smart shot bbs
No, the BBs are fed by a magnet system so the non steel Smart Shots will not work
Where can i buy a sling, mag pouch
There are a lot of re-enactor supply sites out there, but it's easier just to jump on Amazon. They carry repro slings and ammo pouches.
Would a replica of the original mp40 sling work with this?
It works, yes.
Can u modifi or get a conversion kit so that u can convert it to take co2 can with a quick connect so that you arent going through co2 cartridges like crazy and get expensive to play with it like u want to
Mag will not feed bb's properly. Would get stuck after 3 to 5 shots. Talking about the spring! I would have to take mag out and manually push up spring. And still it will get stuck. Yes I'm putting BBS in right way. Bought another mag but after a while it does the same thing. Any one know why spring keeps getting stuck. Could it be that I got two bad mags??
Make sure to use steel BBs, and that they are zig zagged in the magazine. A little silicone would help.
Does anyone have a problem with mp40 magazine not feeding BBS properly. I have two mags. And I'm putting bb's in mag the right way but still will not feed all the way through. Spring will get stuck and not push bb's up. Did I get two bad mags??
Do you forward this lot to Ukraine? If yes, how is the payment made (card or simply transfer of money to the account)
How many shots should I expect from one set of CO2 cartridges? I think that I got less than 100.
I can shoot about 180 bb's with 2 cartridges. Make sure the brand of cartridges is ok. I use Puff Dino but also GAMO and other brands are ok.
Can the front sling mount be rotated from the left side to the right side? The picture on the bundled version with the sling shows right side and the regular picture shows left side. How do you flip it?
This video from uTube https://youtu.be/cdQhO8FtY7c features a real MP38, and two real MP40s from WW2. They are all made with the front strap fitting on the left, to have the sling on the left or bolt side. I'd have to say that's correct. Are there pictures of real WW2 MP40s built the other side? This answer posted 9/20, 2018.
These MP 40's were incorrectly assembled with the forward sling ring on the same side as the bolt, which is incorrect. I found this video, (Unfortunately only in German, but it visually demonstrates disassembly clearly enough to follow) that shows how to disassemble the barrel nut. I was able to rotate the sling ring to the correct side, so now a sling won't tangle up with the bolt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knRhMLp4He8
OK, so I'm a little confused. This rifle will shoot both semi AND full auto. Some are saying that you cannot shoot shorts bursts without jamming? Is that the case?
The final gun I got is the weathered version and it works advertised I have fired both mags about 20 times with a full load of 52 bbs on full auto short bursts good - a load consists of 3 cycles per the 2 Co2s and a smaller load @ 46 for the 4th cycle as when the co2 runs out the final BB is in the hole of the mag and wont come out until CO2 is reloaded
Another 2 new mags fired 28 bb loads total 21 fired correct 6 stuck once , 1 stuck twice . To bad there is not a forum from all users to see if this is how it is.
Ok fired out new mag again short auto bursts 4x40bbs - jammed on last 20 bbs . Fired the original mag also same results . Sending Gun and both mags to Umarex after talking with their tech.
Ok got a new replacement mag from Umarex today fired out 4 x 40 bbs to exhaust the 2 co2 s - no jams yea. Will continue this every day to see for awhile. Ok fired next day twice to loads of CO2 - 2nd trial ok all four time short bursts at 40 bbs no jams. Third CO2 load no so much . First 40 bbs ok . Second load jam with @ 15 bbs left. Third load of 40 bbs no fire at all. Pulled mag out put back in cocked again - nothing . Pulled mag out pulled tab down and shook the neatly packed bbs which now where not exactly stacked as has been recommended out back in cocked and all fired out . Final load put in as recommended stacking stuck with @ 20+ bbs recocked and fired out . So will call umarex monday
James what powdered graphite did you use?
Had some feeding problems too. Go with less BBs, it helps. Also found that small puff of powdered graphite on several hundred BBs, then a good shake to distribute well, and they feed perfectly. In the case of this type mag and gun the BB slot needs DRY lubrication.
Ok have fired the same gun after second Silicon spray and it stuck on the 6 CO2 load this time on the 1st bb load of 40 at about 10 bbs fired remaining loads ok - have sent the other defective mag back to Umarex- will continue to lube and fire until the good mags show up.
Umarex says it is a mag problem and replacements are coming . I had problems with the first gun and also extra mag I ordered both mags would jam at least once per co2 load when firing 4 times with 40 bbs as recommended by Tyler in auto when firing short bursts to use up the CO2- I sent it back to Pyramyd and kept the extra mag - The 2nd gun worked 3 times before starting to hang same as the first. Tried the extra mag it worked for one cycle but the fit was very tight compared to the first gun and it was very hard to put in and release - it damaged the O-ring on the top of the mag so its going back to Umarex when the new good mags show up. So I sprayed the bb area with Evike Silicon non petroluem and got 8 CO2 loads flawlessly then it started to hang again so I sprayed again and so far good for 2 loads of co2 will keep going to see how this works out_ Umarex said ok
There have been some initial differences in performance from gun to gun. But my findings have been that if you don't fill the mag past 40 BBs, the gun doesn't jam in full auto, whether you do a full mag dump or burst fire. I have read other reports where folks say they cannot shoot any bursts without jams, and others where they get hang ups with less BBs in the mag.
The first three times I loaded the CO2 cartridges I noticed that the first one going in was not being punctured even though the screw was in tight. It would only successfully puncture the second cartridge. I finally solved this problem by inserting a leather disc between the two cylinders. Do I need to send the magazine to Umarex or is my solution acceptable inasmuch it will not damage the magazine? The rifle is otherwise a hoot to shoot.
Your solution shouldn't damage anything, but I would still contact Umarex and see if you can get it replaced or get a spare under warranty.
THE END OF BARREL IS TREADED FOR SILENCER,WHERE DO YOU GET ONE.THERE IS NO WHERE YOU CAN FIND THIS EXPLAINED OR THE THREAD SIZE MENTIONED.
Verified 14mm ccw. Standard Airsoft threads.
It's not a 16mm. I measured it with my caliper and it 14mm just airsoft
UMAREX told me the thread on barrel end is M16-2 LHT.
I'm just wondering if you're able to field strip the legends mp40?
No
Is the used finish on the MP40 going to be the battle worn look like the WW2 commemorative models or like (what I consider the better look) like the Colt SAA version they call "weathered"?
We have yet to actually see what the "weathered" version will look like. This MP40 has a very nice finish though, but it is a "new" look, no weathering or anything like that.
What is need for shipping .177 air gun in india
Will dry firing cause damage? Is the receiver and barrel metal or polymer?
Definitely not steel. Most likely, as Tyler stated, aluminium. The only thing a magnet would react to was the lower (dark) portion of the magazine. I would expect the barrel, and of course some internal parts and springs are also steel.
No it will not cause damage. They are metal (aluminum I believe).
Does this product ship to canada?
Yes
I received the fine weapon today, was excited about firing it, did a proper load of the Co2 cylinders, and loaded the bbs.. when firing it, the bbs jam in the magazine,,, thus, won`t fire right, until loosed up and they can feed again. this has made me unhappy,,, what is cure for this?
Been using Daisy zinc coated bb's with all 52 mine will hold and no jam on full auto
You can load 50 Umarex BBs in - pull back the bolt then fire all at once it works fine this way - but if you try shorter bursts it will stop - and if you remove the mag or mags as it happens with mutiple mags ( I have 2 ) there is a bb in the firing position and the black switch is not all the way up - this must cue the gun when it ts empty and not to fire - thats the problem - cause if you put the mag back in and out the bolt again it continues - Umarex is aware that this is an issue - but have not received any guns back to see whats going on - It is not a magazine issue its something to do with the recognition that the of the mad switch -so if you fire short bursts it will hang- full long burst ok every time Umarex says it is not correct send it back.
I have found that if you use Umarex BBs that the gun will fire on auto everytime at 40 bbs if you fire all out at once - if you fire short bursts it stops - when you take out there is a bb in the top position and when you cock again it fires - might stop again so repeat it happens with both my mags and even if the load only 20 it still happens - its not a mag problem as such - whatever sees the bbs and tells the gun triggering to stop when its out of bbs or CO2 is not working correctly so its not a stacking of BBs issue - I have told umarex about this and they said return the gun- so I am waiting for an RMA to do so-
does not work with copper coated lead BBs. i use a stone polisher drum for kids that i bought at Amazon to slightly coat the steel bbs with Molybdenum disulfide or graphit powder and they run smooth in the mag then.
I filled the magazine to capacity...with brass coated bbs,,ordered some black ones, hoping that would help.... will load it lighter, and try it again...thank you for your help.
They got a little greedy when designing the magazine. Instead of a single row of BBs they opted for a wider slot that requires the BBs to form a zig-zag pattern in the magazine chute. Those who shoot airsoft will be familiar with this setup. If the BBs are not loaded in a regular pattern, the guns may not feed properly. Here is one way to assure proper loading: load BBs, hold the magazine inclined down with the BB slot facing up, release the tension on the BBs and reshuffle them (starting at the business end, which is now the lowest point) using a toothpick through the viewing slot on the side of the magazine. It is easier to load some BBs, fix the pattern, load some more, ect.
Hello Keith, how many BB's did you load in the magazine? Found more than 40 will cause it to jam on full auto.
On the webpage for this gun it says it ships to Canada but does it really?
Yes
Will there be a "battle worn" version of the MP40?
Yes
will you ship to Westchester NY (10547)?
They shipped to Rockland
Hello William, should be ok to ship to NY, the only law I'm aware of is the airsoft law concerning orange tape.
What is FREE 1-DAY DELIVERY? offered on this ? Does it mean next day Fed Ex Home Delivery? So If these come in on 5/26 when will they deliver it 5/27 ? 5/29?5/30?
If you are in the 1-day delivery zone, which sounds like you are and they arrive on 5/26 (Friday), then it will probably ship on 5/30 due to the memorial day weekend. However, per PYR today, they received them ahead of schedule so they would ship all the backorders and new orders by 5/26, which means that if you are in the 1-day delivery zone you would receive it on Saturday 5/27
What happened to the 1 yr limited warranty?
It is a 90 day warranty
I thought originally this product was offered with a 1 year warranty. Looking at the owners manual it says it has a 90 day warranty. I bought a Steel Force made by Umarex from you a couple of years ago. It lasted just past the 90 days and when I called you, you said contact Umarex. When I contacted Umarex they said they didn't work on them and didn't stock parts. They said I was just out of luck. Will the MP40 fall in that same catagory?
I just found out this product only has a 90 Day Warranty. Trust me folks it isn't worth it!
What bothers me the most is the 45$ extra mags when they could have very easily made a mag hold 120rds which 2 co2s or a 88grm could have fired just fine but they sell 45$ mags ha! Its really not cool. Its not like they dont know exactly what they are doing. So my question is wheres the deals on mags from you guys, like buy 3 get 4...Something to show us a lil love please???
The Magazine is the actual valving for the gun-so costly to make. Have you tried buying original mags for an MP40-not nearly as complicated but VERRRRY expensive!
Can you completely field strip this gun? And will you guys be offering the full package: extra mag, sling, co2 box, etc. ?
No you can't strip it completely. Check our bundle packages here: https://www.pyramydair.com/s/pre_packaged_deals/Umarex_Legends_MP40_CO2_BB_Submachine_Gun/8329
Yes i know that theres 2 different versions being released, 1) The New Smooth Look Version & 2) The Vintage Used Look Version ...Which Version will you guys have in stock when they come in? If i PreOrder Which Version will i get?
This is the standard finish, not a weathered one.
Does this product ship to Latvia?
You will probably want to ask Latvian customs to make sure they will allow the shipment. But checking Pyramyd's restriction list, Latvia does not appear to be on there.
Its possible buy this product if im inFrance?
This cannot be shipped to France.
Hello, I have a question for you. On the website under the picture to the MP-40 in the characteristics of the specified maximum speed of 400 fps at the same time, the passport to the MP-40 set the maximum speed of 465 fps, please tell me which value is correct. Sorry for my English.
Best bet is to use a good chronograph, check your gun. Regardless of the fps stated by Umarex, on the box, or across a chrono, a lot is going to depend on the conditions in which you are shooting. E.g., If you are shooting in in 70-80 degree temps, your first few shots* will be pretty close to the published velocities, above those temps the velocities will probably increase* a few fps. Below 70 degrees, unless your gun has be kept warm (or at least the magazine (with the co2) has, you will a decrease in fps, due to the nature of co2, the pressure of which varies with the ambient temp. *Rapid shooting with co2, will result in a form of refrigeration (as a gas expands, esp co2, it cools), the principle on which our A/C work, which will reduce the pressure of the co2, and, yep you guessed it... the velocity of the projectile. E.g., the 1st BB may come out at 450*/- but the 50th may only be doing 350+/-. Knew some of this, got most from: https://www.pyramydair.com/article/What_About_CO2_December_2003/6. Just read the fine print under 'Troubleshooting' in the 'Owner's Operation Manual': Note: This airgun requires a significant amount of CO2 to propel its blowback action. As a result, its power will noticeably decrease after 30 rounds.(!)
Got mine today. Says 465 fps on the box. Also says holds 52 BB's
400 fps is the stated fps from Umarex
Do the shell ejector port function with blowback as does the bolt ?
Yes
To Pyramid Air, If I Pre-Order this gun will I be billed immediately or at time of shipping?
Note; if you wish to use Pay Pal just use your Pay Pal credit card and it will not be charged until it is shipped
That depends on the payment method used. If you use a credit card, it will not be billed until the order is ready to ship. If you go through Paypal, it is billed immediately.
FYI. If Pyramid really wanted they could stock reproduction slings, repro magazine pouches, repro loading tool, and reproduction WWII owners manuals. It would be nice to order all this from Pyramid instead of having to buy elsewhere.
I agree i would prefer to spend my money with PA instead of having to get my slings etc from "Those Other Guys" but you guys got to get the items in stock first. Help us, Help you PA
Atalanta cutlery has them on sale for 20.00. Replicas of course
Is the foldable shoulder stock made of metal or plastic? The Gamo MP9 would be a great gun if not for the fact that the foldable stock bends and flexes like crazy when you put it to your shoulder. Can anyone tell me if this one is metal?
its metal. shot show videos show that its metal
How tedious is it to load 60 bbs? Do you have to load them one by one?
Have yet to do it, but I imagine you'll want a speed loader for this one
how is the co2 loaded?
It loads into the drop free magazine. There is a screw on the bottom that needs to be removed for the CO2 to be inserted
I do not see replica serial numbers or German MP 40 markings on the top strap like an original. A key important point; will WW II German markings be accurately reproduced? What does the Umarex markings look like and where do they appear on the firearm? Will the White paint safety markings be on this gun and where? Can you show photos of the details/ markings so one has an idea of how close a replica this Umarex version actually is . I am also concerned about freeze ups in auto mode and if the toy is up to normal use. Generally the Umarex BB guns have too many plastic internal parts that do not withstand normal use. Also, without spare mags it's a keep in the box display model--- that is only if it's an accurate replica as to the reproduction of markings! Will original markings be present and will they be painted on or stamped into the metal? I assume this is a prototype shown in the pics. Not enough details are provided to actually preorder. How much will spare mags cost. Will it come in a nice display/collector cardboard box or a bubble wrap? Can company reps answer some of these concerns. We need to know how accurate a replica it actually is. Show all markings please.
The only markings are the serial number and Umarex info on the right hand magazine well, and the ubiquitous 'safety' blurb behind that on the frame.
Can't speak to the markings until we have production units on hand. Pictures will be updated when production guns are available as well. Spare magazines will be available.
At the Shot Show I saw the gun. The top cover did not close all the way causing an open ejection port. Will the ejection port cover close all the way?
ONLY CLOSES WHEN MAG IS REMOVED AND TRIGER PULLED.
I imagine it will. Probably needed to be locked in place for the show. Won't know for sure until they arrive.
Shooting 60 rounds on full auto seems like an awful lot when using CO2. Does anyone know if any engineering precautions were taken to prevent freeze ups should the gun be fired in full auto? Hopefully a PCP or HPA version will become available.
I have 2 full auto Uzis with blowback (Swiss Arms Protector 344 fps and Gletcher UZM 328 fps) with 25 round magazines using 1 Co2 and I have never had an issue with jamming or freeze up. I usually shoot it in short bursts though to keep on target.
That is why the gun uses two CO2 cartridges instead of one. That said, dumping all 60 rounds on full auto will definitely see a huge drop in velocity as you go. Probably best to shoot in controlled bursts.
Are extra magazines available and how much are they?
you can preorder some for 42$
They will be available shortly.
Will This Be Made Available to us Canadians?,,,,,,,,Seeing it only has a Stated Muzzle Velocity of ONLY 400fps???
Yes
Do you ship this to Canada?
Yes
Can you use lead BB's?
No, they jammed when tested. I would not recommend them.
No they will jam
yes, like the Smart Shot ones that are designed for BB guns
Is this gun a smooth barrel. Is the magazine removable
The magazine is removable and seeing as it only shoots BB's the barrel should be smooth bore.
Hi, What is the magazine capacity and max. velocity of the MP 40 in .22 caliber? Is there also a full-auto option in .22 cal? Thanks for your help!
Dude Roy what are you talking about sonny lmao you must have woke up from a dream No .22 only .117 a 60rd .22 pellet chain mag woulda been beast tho. Good Idea. Keep Dreaming friend
60rd BB magazine (.177 caliber)
Where did they put the manual safety?
On the underside of the gun about 2" in front of the trigger guard.
