Things I liked:

This thing is a total bargain and will make your life better, especially if you bought an unregulated Marauder in .25. It is an excellent value. The package as it arrives is complete and no additional fittings were needed. Just add oil and water. It even has a male/male fitting so I could backfill my scuba tank with my existing fill hose. (I also was somewhat intrigued and entertained by the brilliant cardboard packaging.)

Things I would have changed:

I would like to know a more exact specification for the oil. Most compressors and vacuum pumps mandate a specification from the manufacturer. I want maximum life and don't care what the oil costs if it will make a difference. The attitude with this is that it doesn't much matter... use a diesel motor oil or a mineral oil, petroleum based or synthetic, or whatever. (I'm pretty sure it does matter). On this site it is said to use a motor oil but the instructions also mention to use a compressor oil, which are a mineral oil. It will be interesting to see what kind of life individuals get from one lubricant or another over time when rebuilds come up.

What others should know:

I looked at the market for a long time and nearly bought a Bauer, Daystate, an Omega, or that Italian job at various times but couldn't pull the trigger because they each lacked something. This one has reasonably high volume output, it's not quiet but better than I expected, it's compact and reasonably portable, runs on 110v, has auto shut-off, and it's still cheaper than all the others, none of which can check all those boxes. Other than waiting 3 months for delivery, I can't be more satisfied. If there is a shortcoming I don't know what it is.

Things I liked:

Nothing

Things I would have changed:

Quality control. Cheaper $300 units are all built with the same generic components.

What others should know:

Buying one is a crap shoot. There's a 50/50 chance You''l get a good one or a bad one. Chinese quality control is very poor. Mine ran for 20 minutes before excess noise and overheating began. Returned for refund. No fault of Pyramyd of course. Their customer service is excellent. Will explore other options.

I bought one of these to replace the Benjamin Recharge (3rd one) and for the past 18 months it has been trouble free! I fill 4500 psi tanks and me 300 bar guns in short order and a lot less noise than the benjamin. This is a compressor you will be happy you got!

Excellent compressor that doesn't break the budget too much. Filled a tank from 3100psi to 4100psi in 10 minutes, Never overheated. I love it, now I have air in demand.

    Things I liked:

I like the fact that it will in fact fill up to 4500 psi or 300 bar and if the auto shut off is set correctly it will do so,

    Things I would have changed:

better packaging , meaning the shipping container nearly came apart when I placed the compressor on my hand truck to transport it to my basement.

    What others should know:

take your time and follow the instructions according to the manual, also I would suggest waiting 10 minutes to run the compressor after filling the oil. this gives the oil time to settle in the compressor.

    Things I liked:

I looked at a bunch of reviews before buying the went with Py to purchasing this compressor as they are great about their warranty & when buying anything air gun related Ill Always go with Py as they stand behind their sales of all you buy from them & so far this has been a good compressor for me it did have a minor problem the first day I got it as it just quit running but as per instructions I called Air Venture & got a nice young lady who told me she would alert Py to this & then told me to try replacing the fuse which I did & its run Perfect ever since going on a month of almost daily use. I do suggest you get an extra bottle of oil for from Py & change it 1 hour into its running it & if you can as a special maintenance I change my oil & filter every 50 hours which is just cheap maintenance for me & peace of mind but you do not have to. I keep my Air Venture 74 cu bottle filled till I need to recharge it. I think its A great compressor my self & would buy it again.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Change your oil regularly & just have fun shooting your PCPs as you will run out of pellets before you run out of air great compressor.

This is a great compressor that works great with all my bottles. It is easy to use and works great. The oil keeps it cool along with the water in the tank. It is self contained which is great.

    Things I would have changed:

Put a filter on the air hose.

    Things I would have changed:

    What others should know:

Some compressor oils give off a strong unpleasant odor. Best low odor oil for indoor use where venting or air flow is an issue for me is Campbell Hausfeld.

    Things I liked:

Nice looking design. Fairly quiet. 52 minutes to fill a 74 cu/ft tank from 0-4,000 psi. Mere minutes to charge a 480cc tank from 150bar to 250bar.

    Things I would have changed:

It needs a larger radiator for the cooling system. It should also come with an air dryer/filter as it produces a lot of moisture when running. The water tank is sufficient size but the lid to contain the water is little better than a piece of cling film over the fill opening, and has no seal. There should also be an additional fan to cool the fins on the air cooled cylinders, as the water jacket is inefficient and produces very hot air causing a good deal of pressure loss when the tank being filled cools from 122F+ to ambient temp.

    What others should know:

The motor seems to run fine at first but is underpowered for anything above roughly 3,500 psi. If the motor is stopped for any reason, such as cool down, the supply line needs to be depressurized to restart, and then cracked open when the pressure between the compressor and tank is equalized to keep filling above 3,500 psi. Would also like to have seen a digital gauge and control like some less expensive models. After only 2 hours run time, the compressor seems to already be sweating oil and may need to be serviced, and the cylinders re-torqued.

    Things I liked:

Easy access to filter, drain, oil fill. Pressure cutoff is accurate once calibrated to a high quality gauge.

    Things I would have changed:

AV should offer a moisture pre-filter for those in humid climates.

    What others should know:

F folks wanting to remove moisture from the air PRIOR to compression: I took note of the lack of pre-filter and devised my own after seeing a similar project somewhere online. I used two filter housings (instead of one) filled with 3A molecular sieves. I used 1/4" push-in fittings and poly line to a wye. Then stepped up to a 3/8 poly line which goes directly to the cylinder head (#1). I used Mol Seives since they can be baked dry whereas ceramic beads are very difficult to dry (for us simple folk). They absorb water quickly, much faster that desiccant beads. I think it wouldn't hurt to drop in a few color changing beads so a person knows when to dry the sieves. I posted a couple pictures. One of the fitting in the cyl head and one of the two filters zip tied to the end of the compressor housing. Even in my dried climate (Spokane) i get a considerable amount of water when draining the outlet filter. I can only imagine what folks in humid climates see. We all know what moisture does.

    Things I liked:

Quality build and ease of use, this compressor is awesome I will admit that I really didn't want to buy a bigger one but because of the lack of places to fill 4500 psi tank here is not the best in the world I decided to just bite the bullet. I will admit that I was scared at first with filling a tank (74 cu ft) because I know they are not a play toy and some of the story's the youngest one has told (he was in the navy) I was very careful doing it, Pay attention to what you are doing and this compressor will do the rest and does it efficiently. All controls were easy to use and the instructions were well written. One thing I will pass along is that I was told to use a water bath to keep the tank cool when filling and a five gallon bucket works fine. I set this compressor on top of a large cooler whe I filled my tanks since iI havent got my station built yet and it did not move one inch, vibration free.

    Things I would have changed:

I think the only thing I would want to see is a longer fill tube, other than that its great the way it is.

    What others should know:

If you want to get away from depending on someone else for your air just buy this and it will do what you want, I mow have two compressors, a small one that I purchased first and this one , wish i would have just bought this one first.

Charges my 90 cu. in. bottle fast! Fairly quiet. Seems to be of high quality. The instructions it came with are very good.

    Things I would have changed:

    Add wheels to the frame.

    What others should know:

I bought the intake dryer, also. It's worth the extra money if you want a dry supply of air. I live in FL and the humidity can get quite high here.

    Things I liked:

Auto shut off and easy use of gauge. Water cooled and compressor being fairly compact. Decent fill times on bottles.

    Things I would have changed:

Would've liked to have an hour meter to keep track for maintenance. Hole in front panel for oil sight glass need to extend past oil drain hole. Would keep you from having to remove panel. Female QC needs to be longer for charging some airguns.

    What others should know:

Use full synthetic compressor oil for longer compressor life ( I use royal purple). After you've finished filling a tank, i would recommend leaving the water cooler running until you can comfortable leave your hand placed against the cylinder head without it being to hot. This will help remove the heat from the cylinders faster which should help to extend the life of compressor. I use 50/50 radiator fluid which has added conditioners rather than using straight water. When you first fill the water cooler and run it, slightly tilt the compressor at different angles to remove more of the air bubbles trapped in the cooling system.

    Things I liked:

Well built, replaces long trips for refills, quiet compared to other compressors, auto-shutoff when item is filled, added connectors/ adapters make filling almost any item possible. Setup instructions are well written and there are several reviews to make decisions easier.

    Things I would have changed:

Add a meter indicating "up-time" for maintenance requirement Replace the short fill hose with a longer one-- say--5-6 ft.

    What others should know:

If you're on the fence about buying this or another product, I can assure you that this particular Air Venturi product is worth every penny and then some. Is this built to be a portable compressor?--NO. but it is both quiet (comparing other compressors) and compact. It doesn't come with oil so you need to purchase that as well. You will find a lot of chatter about oil choice but the truth is you can't go wrong with using what's stated in the manual--> Air Venturi Compressor Oil. There is indeed a warranty and Air Venturi won't let you down if you have to use it. Will it fill scuba tanks with K/ DIN valve adapters? Not directly but you can fill using the K-valve PCP connector with the double male coupling- so YES.
