Benjamin Traveler 4500 PSI Portable Reviews

It fills my marauder in just a couple of minutes. Doesnt have time to get too warm. I also like that it can run off car battery so when in the field I can refill quickly. New to PCPs and did not purchase hand pump no tanks so this is it.

Integration of power supply and pump. With an switch to turn on power. The separate power supply with no switch is kind of a pita.

So far so good with this one. Have used probably 8 times to refill. I did get a initial pump that did not work. It ran but pumped no air. I didnt trouble shoot as it was brand new Pyramyd took good care of me and sent a new one as soon as available.

Works well, used for easily a couple hundred fills in a few months for my .177 Marauder. The gauge appears to be more accurate than that which is on the Mrod. Will run comfortably on a high capacity 4s Lipo battery.

Longer fill line, better liquid separator. This thing allowed a *lot* of moisture in to my tube. Thankfully I took the tube apart to install a Hill upgrade kit and regulator and took the opportunity to thoroughly clean, otherwise Id have had a heck of a time next year.

Get a better water separator if you choose to invest in this or any compressor. Otherwise works well.

I especially like the automatic pressure shut off preset feature and the relative quietness of it compared to others.

Comes with the larger pressure connectors but my Discovery (with a sound moderator) requires the smaller one that comes on the Discovery hand pump. I would make an option include both at no extra charge.

On the new generators there is digital gage on the side which reads when pressure is applied but I have no idea what it is and the owner's manual says nothing about.

Trash, no customer service! No one cares,doesn't work and no one helps.

Does exactly what it's designed to do. I use it to fill my Benjamin Marauder .25 and Airforce Texan LSS and it works flawlessly every time. Has made PCP shooting more enjoyable than ever for me. It's small, portable and runs on AC or DC current which makes it the perfect adjunct to serious PCP enthusiasts. I fill 200cc to 500cc tanks all day long to 3000 PSI all day long effortlessly.

No complaints here. As stated, it does exactly what it was designed to do.

Not designed to fill large scuba sized tanks. Limit to tanks .6L or smaller is recommended. Would probably do more, but if you want to fill tanks (i.e. 74CF) look at compressors designed to do that. This is for filling guns at home or out on the range and does it perfectly.

Use a better AC to DC converter. Mine didn't work just like many others have complained. Longer air hose would make it easier to fill the gun. Make it the USA as China sell cheap crap like the AC converter. For $700 bucks it should have better quality.

The AC converter was defective and did not work at all. I had to return it.

Easy to use (follow the directions, mine did not have all the switches set correctly for my electricity). Fills guns nicely, takes some time, but less than a hand pump.

Brass blow-out-set-screw blew out way too quickly. I need to call and get a new screw, since I can't find one anywhere.

Stick with re-filling only guns and not bottles. Directions were not clear to me on not being able to fill larger tanks, over 50cu inch.

Its reliable and gets the job done at a decent amount of time. Its easy to transport and can work with the vehicle on or off when hooked to the battery. I do recommend that you have the vehicle running though cause it runs much faster that way.

Quieter. The unit is very loud. Also a slightly longer hose would be helpful.

For the price this compressor gets the job done and does it reliably. It can fill my .357 Carnivore from empty on average in 6 minutes and from 100 bar to 200 bar in just about 3 minutes.

Great for charging guns in the field! For the price it does a great job. Had it for about a year no problems!

Not a big fan of keeping up with inverter. Just throwing this out to Benjamin. I would probably buy the Nomad if I were choosing now simply because its one piece

It worked and works well. I had previously tried to save money and bought a cheaper one on amazon and it didnt work at all. Lesson Learned! Light weight , easy to use, but built well. Wires, cables, construction is a good quality verses that previous air compressor purchased on amazon and then returned to Amazon. smh

Nothing it does exactly what it is for and does it very well. Fills my Airforce Texan and Hatsan Hercules Bully in minutes and has auto shut off.

Would like to have it work after spending so much money. Should also be a mention in the instructions about the 230/110 volt switch on the power converter.

Soon as I plug it in the fan comes on, then I get a beep. That's it. Nothing else. Hitting the start/stop button has no effect. I just get the fan running until I unplug it.

The price came down and so far it works very good, it beats the hand pump. I have filled both my Benjamin Marauder Air Rifles three times and did a good job. Only time will tell if this pump keeps working a s advertised especially that no lube is used to cool it.

The instructions are the worst I have ever seen, I had to call Pyramydair because I keep getting a error code. They said they did not service it and had to call Crossman and they provided the phone number. Because of lack of instruction why I was getting the error code, I had to put a small screw driver into the converter and switch it from the setting it was on to 120 volts.

It does not show when to change the filter they provide and one must figure this our themselves, they are felt filter and it does not state a time frame plus they provide many O tinges that I would have to figure out where they go. If it was not for the poor instructions I would give this a 5 star, but because of the poor instructions and either PyramydAir should have provided the phone number with the sale for Crossman of Crossman should have done so. This is why only a 4 star and time will only tell if this compressor holds up.

i would change how long the compressor worked before it stopped working.

Worked great filling my FX Dreamline bottle for about a week and then it stopped filling once it got to around 1000psi. I had to send the compressor back and decided on going with a different brand.

Quick easy to use. Very simple set-up. The Auto shut-off when desired fill is reached. Portability

It's recommended to "squeeze" out any excess water from the in-line filter, I found that if I only pump up to under 45=50 degrees at a time (which my guns and even a small tank to 2900 psi) then after shutting of the compressor let it run for a minute or so disconnected from the compressor and you can feel a fine "mist" of moister pop out and then reconnect the filter without the hose and it will dry the filter for more uses. I'm still on the first filter and keeping record of "how many fills" (i have 15 fill so far) , no problems.

I like that its quick to charge up my Armada and I can charge up my pcps in the field with my truck battery.Its about 4 minutes and I've got a full charge of 3000 psig.It beats the hand pump!!!

Needs a caring case. I am designing a hard case for it now. The directions it comes with needs to be written to a step by step procedures. It would help people out.

When you first get your Benjamin Travler inspect everything before you hook it up. And remember the bleed screw needs to be closed to pump up your PCP.

I like that its lighter then my scuba tank. Easy to set up quieter then the compressor i use to fill my scuba tank.

It really needs a longer hose. The pressure adjustment knob can be a pain to adjust. Pressure gauge really should be on top to make it easier to read .

I bought this compressor when my main one crapped out on me at the wrong time. Wife and I were preparing for the fun shoot GTA puts on every year. The price was right and it made sense to have a back up should some thing like this happens again. Works as advertised easy to set up filled my guns no problem slower then my tank but i expected that. Then of course my luck being what it is this one crapped out of me contacted PA.Week later new on my porch. PA's service department really treated me right. I really screwed up when returned the compressor left the coupling needed to fill my FX Crown. They went the extra mile to get me a replacement which I am expecting to be here soon. The compressor isnt perfect and there are a couple of things i would change. Would I recommend to others yes.

This unit is EXACTLY as I expected and as described. It is quiet. It charges my Marauder from 2000-3000 in just over 3 minutes. I am very pleased. I am extremely pleased with both the Benjamin Traveler and Pyramid Air. This is my first purchase from Pyramid Air and all is great. Excellent packaging and prompt delivery.

It would be nice if the power convertor is contained in the same housing as the compressor making a "one piece" unit.

This compressor is very fast, easy to use at startup and was just like it was advertised.

At the end of the air hose and the quick connect I would put a 90 degree elbow. It is hard to push the quick connector on to the fill port because you can't get enough leverage on the hose at that point.

This unit ran on a 28 AH battery and I think I can get 10 more charges from before charging the battery. I am glad I bought this instead of an air tank.
