Released in 2014, the Benjamin Trail NP2 quickly became one of the most popular breakbarrels on the market. With a combination of quiet shooting, easy cocking, and a good trigger, the original NP2 had a lot going for it already - but Crosman isn't finished making improvements to this airgun.
The quiet NP2 is now even quieter as the Benjamin Trail Nitro Piston 2 SBD. The SBD (Silencing Barrel Device) adds an improved barrel shroud that makes the NP2 SBD 3x quieter than other breakbarrels in its class. The asymmetric and removable shroud is specially designed to keep the silencer out of view when using a scope, and to expose the baffles, making cleaning easier than ever before!
This Trail SDB sports an all-weather textured synthetic stock with integrated sling swivels if you want to make your NP2 better equipped for field carrying. Resting atop the barrel is a Picatinny optics rail for fitting the included 3-9x32 scope for zeroing in on your prey - whether paper or pest.
The Trail NP2 SBD keeps all the features that made the original Trail NP2 a great breakbarrel. The Trail SBD takes advantage of the same Nitro Gas Piston technology; making it easy to cock, reducing vibration, and operating well in cold weather, unlike traditional spring pistons. As if all of this wasn't good enough, this airgun is assembled by American workers in Crosman's manufacturing headquarters in Bloomfield, New York!
This combination of features are ideal for shooters looking for a quiet, accurate, and easy to use breakbarrel that's ready to shred targets or dispatch any pest on your perimeter!

My first air rifle... i like it. Quiet, pretty accurate at 25 yards.
Things I would have changed:Trigger creep is taking alot of getting use to after trying some others. And on heavy side. Break barrel little harder to cock than I thought it would be but not really broke in yet with only 150 rounds through it so far.

is this the easiest cocking gun& does any benj trail np2 come with frt & rear sights?
The Trail guns are call mid 40 lb cocking effort. None come w/open sights.
Hello, I noticed this rifle is sound rated a 2-low medium... My question is, is it really very quiet and, how does it compare to the stoeger X20S2s? Thanks
In my opinion, yes it is quieter than the X20s2

Performance, (thus far) overall look and feel. The SPD Technology (sound suppressor) seems to work very well. The Picatinny/weaver rail system is great and the combo comes with a sling. Seems to shoot great but I'm still working out the kinks through pellet selection, aftermarket scope and the rifle is not fully broken in.
Things I would have changed:Absolutely needs a rear sight in my opinion due to the fact it has a front sight. I am also not fond of the scope it came with (like many air rifles) i do realize a better scope would increase the price a significant amount. I would suggest buying an aftermarket scope (matter of preference) especially since you can't remove the factory scope and shoot accurately due to the lack of a rear sight.
What others should know:This is my first higher end pellet rifle and I have not yet broken it in fully. (Only about 150 pellets have gone though it) with that said it seems to be a good product. Time an practice will tell but overall it seems a good pellet rifle an very quiet using sub sonic (10+g) pellets. Also 10.5g pellets hit hard at 40yards. (They were crossman ultra mag pellets an I'm upping my pellets to H&N match 10.65g for better Quality/performance)
