Things I liked:

EXACTLY as Rick Eutsler presented in his video review! At thirty yards, and using the CORRECT pellet(s), I get quarter-sized groups - CONSISTENTLY. I am REALLY looking forward to having the little squirrels and bunnies say HELLO to my new Gamo friend... hee hee hee. Oh, and the loading mechanism is working VERY smoothly. But as I am a bit 'rough' with my handling... not too much... and as it is a VERY simple procedure to switch-out the loading mechanism in the field, I think I will go ahead and just get me another_ for JUST IN CASE. Yes-sir-ree, so far I REALLY like this SWARM MAXIM.

Things I would have changed:

Make the cocking effort a bit less, IF possible. For those of you who have the Benjamin Trail NP2, you will find that the Gamo takes a bit more OOMPH to cock. I was really surprised, as the Gamo has a bit less FPE using the same weight pellet. But other than the SURPRISE regarding the cocking effort, there is NOTHING else negative for me.

What others should know:

People, you have all heard that term regarding this rifle... A GAME CHANGER. Well, in my honest opinion, I believe this to be absolutely true. So now the game becomes WHO WILL ADOPT THIS NEXT? I am hoping that a ton of the major manufacturers will at least consider adopting the system.

Things I liked:

This thing has low power. in .22 cal my crono read 650 FPS at 14 foot lbs. with a 25 grain pellet. I shoot a crow at point blank in the chest and the pellet bounced off and it flew away. Good gun for plinking at paper targets only.

Things I would have changed:

MORE POWER NEEDED.

What others should know:

Stay away from "SPRINGERS". Stick to PCP. WAY more power! WAY more accurate.

Straight out of the box. Assemble scope on the rifle , and shot 5 rounds of predator GTO .22 pellets at 20 yards . 1" high. I couldn't believe it. Week later I have my squirrels freezer train. It's worth the money. I have shot up to 45 yards with no problems.

    Things I would have changed:

Mounts to scope need lock tight.

    Things I liked:

Had a terrible squirrel problem. Eating my garage rafters, chewing through partial board and making nests in the trees too. After 2 other brands bought the maxim. With the supplied scope, sighted in at 30 yds and using Barracuda Hunter Extreme at 18.7 grains eliminated the problem after 4 weeks sending 32 to squirrels to squirrel heaven.Found this the best pellet for my rifle after trying 6 others. Great rifle, try to find any at this price and accuracy, probably not. Buy one, can not go wrong.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, for the distance I shoot scope is acceptable and clear enough. If I want to see penetration I buy revealing targets.

    What others should know:

Use artillery hold lightly laying the front forearm on your hand, squeeze the trigger. Did not change the trigger pull. Great as it is. Take time to sight in your scope, make sure all screws are tight.

    Things I liked:

My favorite rifle to carry in the woods! Always ready by my back door for my walks. Lightweight and shoulders nicely. Accuracy seems to be questionable with this rifle. You must try different pellets until you find one your barrel likes. My gun prefers baracuda hunter extremes & terminators. Seems to like mid weight pellets. 1 inch groups with both @ 20 yards. Watch YouTube videos about artillery hold...increased my accuracy termendously.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

If you don't already have one...get one! Great for plinking, preppers, and small game hunting/pest control. A mist have in any airgun collection in my opinion

    Things I liked:

I have about 400 pellets through the .177 version so far. I love the reloading mechanism and it has worked flawlessly.

    Things I would have changed:

The shooting experience is... violent. Thats the only way I can explain it. My previous gun was a springer and this gun has much more vibration. With that said, the reloading mechanism makes up for this and overall its a blast to shoot.

    What others should know:

I could not get this gun to group. Until I shot the monster diablos through it. Most pellets, I tried 8 different kinds, would give me 1.2 inch groups at 15 yards. The Monster Diablos are giving me one inch groups at 30 yards and that is sitting in a chair leaning on a hand rail on my deck. I almost returned the gun before I found the 13.43gr diablos but it has changed this gun into a fun and decently accurate gun. Overall pretty happy with it.

    Things I liked:

Very accurate once I found a pellet the rifle liked, Predator GTO non-lead pellets worked great. I can group ten shots in a one inch circle at 75 feet. Pesky rodents are no match for this rifle. I have owned this rifle for nearly three years now and shoot a few times each week. The squirrels are multiplying like rabbits! The suppressor works better than expected, and the squirrels do not get scared away on the first shot, allowing me to take that rare second shot. I am deadly with this rifle at 60 feet.

    Things I would have changed:

The rifle is quite heavy, so freehand shooting is somewhat unsteady. Also the area of the stock where the break breech moves has rather sharp edges, right where you hold it for aiming. I think I will file those down some. The scope is good enough for now, but I might upgrade later. The position of the scope can interfere with the removal of the scope protective covers, so you have to play with that at first.

    What others should know:

This is my first adult air rifle. It is a great value for what you get. Sighting in for the first time takes a little practice, but once set for a particular pellet, accuracy can be achieved. I found lead-free domed pellets give good results. Hollow point lead pellets are like throwing knuckleballs at 950 FPS. Not very accurate beyond fifty feet. All in all, I am very pleased with my Swarm with its 10 shot clip. Buy and extra clip if you go hunting. You will need it in the heat of the moment.

    Things I would have changed:

Loading mechanism made very cheap broke within two weeks. Required to pay return shipping and $15.00 check to send it back to you. Waste of money since same thing would happen.

    What others should know:

Very expensive paper weight. Don't waste your money on this rifle like I did.

    Things I liked:

I love the look, feel, weight, and power of this sweet rifle. The cocking is understandably, but in my opinion, not as hard as I expected (I'm a small woman); hard enough to give it the power I need. All-l-in-all, a beautiful rifle. Accuracy is not too bad, but depends on the pellets used.

    Things I would have changed:

A more solid magazine, if designing allows. Pellets do fall out of the magazine, and that can be a problem.

    What others should know:

I personally recommend wadcutters for this rifle.

    Things I liked:

This thing felt great it was lightweight came up quick, clean and shouldered really well. the magazines are relatively easy to load and their user-friendly can't put it in any way but one.

    Things I would have changed:

Everything about the brand! I'm a loyal Turkish fan now at 6, yes six Spanish failures! I've given those guys over $1,200 for their weapons that are now in the trash! I've got the receipts to back it up and I've got the pictures of beautiful fully functioning hatsan weapons to prove I'm not a clown or an idiot! I don't think it's humanly possible that I could get 6 lemons and if anything now that I've grown more in the sport I'm even rougher on my hatsans then I was on my beginning Gamos.

    What others should know:

Be careful with the red 22 magazines they tend to leak pellets out and not really work very well. Some when their new, some when they get older every single one I've encountered ended up in the dumpster! However the blue one, my 177 is my only surviving functioning Gamo weapon out of 6 purchased!! Be careful with this brand, read the reviews, look for older reviews, look for updated reviews.

    Things I would have changed:

For Heavens sake! If youre going to include a scope.... at least make it serviceable! Break in... it should NOT take 500+ rounds!

    What others should know:

I purchased this gun for head to head comparison with the swarm Whisper. This gun took far longer/more shots to break in... like around 500... and is far less accurate than the Whisper. The Whisper was shooting good groups (1inch @ 20 yards) about 100 rounds. After 500+ rounds, the best the Maxxim can do is 2-3 inches, with ALWAYS 2-3 flyers out of each 10 round mag. THE ONLY THING better on the Maxxim is the trigger. That being said you can get close if you modify the 2.5mm trigger screw on the Whisper. Overall the Maxxim IS NOT WORTH THE EXTRA $$ you pay for it. Buy the Whisper, change the 2.5mm trigger screw to a 10mm long one, and CAREFULLY adjust it. Could it be a fluke? Maybe, but for $50 more, the Maxxim should be significantly better than the Whisper..... and in my experience, it is not.

    Things I would have changed:

    Things I liked:

Good light weight rifle, the magazine is excellent, 10 easy shots in quick order, Most accurate .22 I have at 20 and 30 yards. I like the fact that the Gamo scope that came with the gun was not an AO scope. Most of the AO scopes I have that came as a combination did not function well. I love this gun.

    Things I would have changed:

I would add iron sights to this gun. Also include 2 magazines instead of one.

    What others should know:

My Swarm likes Crosman premier domed ultra magnum 14.3gr pellets.

I have this gun for over a year I have both the .22 and .177 shot well over 1000 rounds each gun .flawless haven't have a jam yet.thinking of getting the new swarm fox.just because of gen2 .and magazine.

    Things I would have changed:

Could give a better scope.but I put new scope on all my guns any ways .

    What others should know:

For the price you are getting the best bang for your buck .at to me it is. I be getting the new fox soon.everyting else out there is not quite as good.proxima cost alot more synagis the mag falls off .crosman magfire after cocking have to bolt action to load .for people that cry about this gun.go get yourself a better one.but there isn't any at the price .to me this is the closest to a PCP. I have move freedom too.
